Chapter 1504: Chapter 1065: Should Be Called Paying to Stick Around
"You said you were going to take me to meet a female dragon," Negris said ’reluctantly’.
"First, take us to meet your boss. If we can solve the egg-stuck problem, I’ll marry the strongest female dragon from our clan to you," Elarafate declared confidently.
Negris shook his head frantically. "No, no, I don’t want a strong female dragon! I just want pretty ones. Marry me? Dream on! I have no enmity with you—why are you trying to harm me? Goodbye."
Seeing Negris turning to leave, Elarafate was stunned. He quickly blocked the way, speaking gently, "Let’s talk this over. No rush. What do you want? Don’t be so hasty, tell me—what do you want?"
"Didn’t I already say? I want to meet pretty female dragons. You said you’d let me come out and have fun, yet now you’re pulling this stunt—marrying me to some strong female dragon? If you want to harm me, you might as well squash me dead," Negris complained, his face full of reluctance.
Elarafate couldn’t comprehend how something that others in the clan would envy had turned into some kind of punishment in Negris’s eyes.
At a loss, Elarafate eventually offered, "Fine, fine! I’ll take you to meet pretty female dragons. I’ll introduce every female dragon of the Crystal Dragon clan to you. Crystal Dragons are the most beautiful dragon species in the entire Void."
"Now that’s more like it. So, you’re from the Crystal Dragon clan? Long have I heard of your reputation. Alright, I’ll take you to meet my boss. But I need to inform him first; otherwise, if you appear suddenly, he might get startled," Negris said, casually bluffing.
"Alright, alright, quickly go and return! We’ll be right here waiting," Elarafate agreed courteously and politely.
Negris flew several hundred kilometers back to report. At first, he just wanted to fly a few dozen kilometers as a show, thinking Anthony and Ange, who had projected onto him, already knew everything. However, Anthony vetoed this plan.
"Are you dumb? If they can see you, they definitely have some ability to observe things from afar, maybe even watching you right now."
Leisurely flying back, Negris found Silver Coin, exchanged a few words, and soon Silver Coin began assembling a team. In no time, the lineup was identical to their previous journey: Negris pulling the cart at the front, Anthony and Durken guarding the sides of the carriage, with Ange bringing up the rear as they all flew toward where the Transparent Dragons were.
Upon their arrival, Elarafate and two other Transparent Dragons revealed themselves early, craning their necks to observe the group. However, Anthony noticed that although they appeared to be watching Negris and Silver Coin at the front, a significant part of their attention was focused on the back of the carriage—where Ange was.
Anthony immediately instructed via the Soul Network, "They’re paying close attention to the Lord—it must be because they saw him destroy the Apocalypse Attack firsthand. If they’re still willing to meet despite this, the egg-stuck problem must be extremely important to them. Raise the asking price later."
Ange had personally destroyed an Apocalypse Attack, a feat confirming his power far surpassing that of the Transparent Dragons. Faced with such a formidable presence, instead of staying far away, they gritted their teeth and chose to meet. Evidently, what they sought was of great importance.
In fact, Anthony had already guessed their identity when they used Bloodline Resonance to call Negris. Only dragons could perform Bloodline Resonance.
After confirming their identity, Anthony dangled a big bait: the egg-stuck problem—a critical issue for dragon reproduction. The Giant Dragon Clan on the Master Plane faced this problem, and he wasn’t certain whether this realm’s Dragon Clan had the same issue.
Even if they didn’t, Anthony had prepared other bait, like the Dragon God Transformation, to lure these Transparent Dragons.
Unexpectedly, the Transparent Dragons eagerly bit the first bait without questioning its authenticity. Negris’s example was too persuasive.
Initially, they thought Negris was a Sub-dragon due to his small size. But upon closer inspection, he was indeed a Giant Dragon—although his coloration seemed off. Still, he was unmistakably a Giant Dragon.
They had planned to inquire about the anomaly but hadn’t had the chance before Negris volunteered the information: he had survived an egg-stuck situation. This made perfect sense—they concluded his stunted size must be due to malnutrition during the egg-stuck phase.
Whether human or dragon, people tend to firmly believe the ’truth’ they piece together in their heads. Now, they didn’t doubt Ange’s group’s ability to resolve the egg-stuck problem.
Silver Coin discreetly gestured to show he understood. If Elarafate knew that his cautious glances had already triggered a surge in negotiation costs from a cunning merchant, he might have burst into tears.
The rest of the process skipped over. Silver Coin’s expertise in swindling was unmatched—he seized every psychological shift in his opponents, repeatedly breaking down their mental defenses, and finally secured the deal on terms the other party couldn’t wrap their heads around.
"Pfft... They gave you the stuck dragon eggs? Those dragon eggs belong to Elarafate’s family? Weren’t they trying to save the dragon eggs? Why would they give them to you?" Negris asked, spitting out blood in disbelief.
He couldn’t wrap his head around it. Weren’t they supposed to save the dragon eggs? Was giving them away their idea of ’saving’?
Silver Coin chuckled. "How could you call it giving them away? They even paid us—technically, they’re paying us to take them. Handing the eggs to us is better than watching their children suffocate and die stuck in their shells. Don’t pull that face—you came about the same way, didn’t you?"
Silver Coin deliberately emphasized the word ’came,’ reminding Negris of how he had introduced himself to Elarafate: as someone rescued from an egg-stuck situation, hence why he followed Silver Coin. Of course, that was the background story Anthony had created for him, which he had promptly forgotten after telling it.
With Negris as a ’success story,’ Elarafate reluctantly handed over the dragon eggs to Silver Coin and even threw in a few miscellaneous items, pleading for Silver Coin to take proper care of the children.
Giving away their children was surely better than letting them die inside the eggs. Still, this left Negris feeling a bit uneasy. "Isn’t this wrong? Doesn’t it mean the juvenile dragons will grow up without parents?"
"If you think it’s wrong, we can always exchange the juveniles for more things—like information about Lord North Corona? Having juvenile dragons in our hands gives us greater bargaining power," Silver Coin said indifferently. "For now, we need to follow them to their lair, cure the dragon eggs, and get some more goods from their stash. Who knows what treasures they might have? We’ll see when we get there."
After agreeing on the plan, Elarafate had already grown impatient and hurriedly urged them to get moving. To save time, Elarafate even offered to let everyone ride on his back.
Once everyone was securely seated—even the carriage was fixed onto his spine—Elarafate flapped his wings and carried the group deep into the Void. After a full day of flying, they arrived at the edge of a deep abyss composed of several massive ’peaks.’
Anthony sounded disappointed over the Soul Network. "It’s not an array or the site for an assault on the Undead City."
But as soon as he spoke, everyone’s vision brightened. The Transparent Dragons had passed through a boundary into a world of blue skies, white clouds, lush grass, and herds of cattle and sheep.
