Chapter 1495: Chapter 1056: Quietly Holding On
Ange and the others looked at each other, puzzled. To them, these light points resembled an attack they were all too familiar with—Star Burst.
"Was it Star Burst that destroyed the plane? That’s impossible, isn’t it?" Negris asked, doubtful.
They had never associated a plane-destroying attack with Star Burst, as it simply didn’t possess such power.
Back then, the Witch had used the Monarch’s Black Crystal Body to block it. Although the Black Crystal Body shattered, the Star Burst turned into a Faith Storm, and by the time it hit the ground, Ange had converted it all into Elf Beans.
Even the Black Crystal Body couldn’t be shattered easily, let alone destroy an entire plane.
"Are you sure you didn’t see it wrong?" Anthony asked Sacrificial Mask, raising a finger in front of his nose, squinting hard and separating his eyes to focus.
But alas, he saw nothing. Retracting his gaze, he found that everyone else had done the same—except Ange, who continued to look upwards.
Anthony exaggeratedly signaled to Nagri, who finally understood his intentions after a few tries and quickly shared Ange’s vision.
With Negris taking the lead, Anthony naturally followed suit, sharing Ange’s vision as well. Although this wasn’t his first time doing so, he dared not treat it as casually as Negris.
Within the dark Void, they saw space distorting relentlessly. The central light point enlarged rapidly as the spatial distortion intensified, growing bigger and bigger in their field of vision.
Negris gasped deeply and exclaimed, "A Wormhole Lens!?"
Anthony whispered, "Lord Nage, do you recognize this skill?"
"Not at all. But spatial distortion is a Hole Bug’s ability. Using distorted space as a lens—so I named it Wormhole Lens. Pretty catchy, right?" Negris explained matter-of-factly.
"..." Anthony wanted badly to punch him. A spur-of-the-moment name and one that already exists are not the same!
Regardless of whether it was called a Spatial Lens or Wormhole Lens, its effects far exceeded Tyrone’s Stargazing Mirror, almost dragging the light point to their very eyes. At the forefront of the light point was a hammer.
"Pfft... Universal Pull Divine Hammer? Isn’t it supposed to be in Heaven’s Fortress? How can it possibly be here?" Negris exclaimed in shock.
Ange was puzzled too. Retracting his gaze, he reached into his belongings and pulled out a Universal Pull Divine Hammer.
"How is this possible? Two Universal Pull Divine Hammers? Those shards you just picked up—don’t tell me they’re also fragments of the Universal Pull Divine Hammer?" Negris asked incredulously.
Ange shook the hammer slightly.
The Divine Hammer emitted an annoyed emotion: "I’m here... stop shaking me..."
Negris questioned the hammer, "Do you have any siblings?"
The hammer responded quizzically: "Hammers... no gender... idiot..."
"Hmm, you’re speaking much more fluently now. Your language skills are improving. What I mean is, are there any other Universal Pull Divine Hammers in this world?" Negris inquired.
The Divine Hammer didn’t reply, not because it didn’t hear, but because it couldn’t be bothered to answer.
Ange took out a fragment and presented it before the hammer.
"This... this is a brother or sister. Where did you find this?" the Divine Hammer asked in puzzlement.
"Picked it up. How many more hammers like you exist?" Negris pressed on.
"If the Forging Master isn’t dead, they can make more. I don’t know..." the hammer responded.
"Forging Master? Who created you? The Great Speaker?" Negris asked.
"No, I don’t know." At this point, the hammer directed its intent toward Ange and demanded, "Give it to me."
Ange tilted his head slightly.
The hammer, puzzled by Ange’s body language, emitted a confused emotion.
Negris translated, "He’s asking how to give it to you."
"Smash," the hammer replied.
Holding the fragment in one hand, Ange swung the hammer with the other, smashing it against the shard. BOOM! A powerful suction force emanated from where the hammer met Ange’s palm, causing everyone to lurch forward.
But the suction force subsided quickly. When the hammer was lifted, the fragment in Ange’s palm had vanished.
"Kvada! Thank goodness it was Ange; otherwise, someone else would’ve been screwed. With such a violent reaction, you made him hammer it? What if his hand had been injured!" Negris scolded, still shaken.
The Divine Hammer’s intent seemed much more energized now. Despite being chastised, it didn’t talk back; instead, it sheepishly replied, "I... I meant for him to put it on the ground and smash it. Who knew..."
The hammer, too, was startled. Who would hold something in their hand and smash it with a hammer? Never mind whether they’d hurt their hand, but hands typically don’t have the strength to endure such force. Yet Ange had simply held it and smashed it to smithereens.
The released Power of Devour was genuine. The hammer felt its strength grow slightly, so it was clear Ange had indeed used his hand to bear the hammer’s force and the explosion from the shard. What a monster.
"What’s going on, what’s going on? Another surge of Devouring Power? Who’s causing it?" Single-footed Deke came rushing in, looking around in confusion.
By now, you couldn’t call her ’Single-footed’ anymore. Deke had a prosthetic leg, and with clothing covering it, you’d never tell she only had one leg left.
The prosthetic was built around a Black Crystal-coated leg bone, providing enough durability to withstand Deke’s antics. While it lacked the strength of her original limb and was more decorative, she took immense joy in it regardless.
Just as Deke finished speaking, the Sage of the Abyss, Cabu, also arrived in a hurry. "What happened? I’m sensing an Abyssal Power fluctuation again. Is it... huh? That hammer..."
Anthony didn’t answer but instead deflected, "Look, stars."
Deke raised her head to observe the light point within the Void and exclaimed, "Huh? When did such a bright star appear? Why do I feel like it’s moving?"
Curious and astonished, Deke then turned her head, only to notice Cabu’s fading form, frozen in shock, with his soul radiating overwhelming terror. "Wor... World-Ending Strike. It’s the World-Ending Strike."
"What? You mean the strike that destroyed the plane?" Deke cried out urgently.
"Yes, that very strike. I’d recognize it even if it were reduced to ashes. Fragmented memories buried in my soul all record this moment. Quick, notify all the souls—get out of here!" Cabu urged with panic.
Deke immediately arched her body and unleashed a soul-piercing wail.
The entire ’Flower Cluster’ erupted in chaos. In what was once a tranquil space, countless undead creatures crawled out from graves, lifted coffin lids, and pushed open steles, staring blankly toward the direction of the wail.
As they began understanding the information conveyed by the wail, panic seized them. Scrambling to their feet, they gazed fearfully at the light point in the sky, emitting terrified howls.
The whole ’Flower Cluster’ comprised undead born from the Breath of Death following the plane’s destruction. Some retained fragments of the memories from that moment. Those without memories inherited a deep, rooted fear of this apocalyptic moment through stories passed down orally.
A massive cloud of smoke surged from the depths of the Flower Cluster. At its core was a powerful undead, though its demeanor revealed utter panic in the face of an attack capable of obliterating a plane.
"It’s the Soul Devouring King, Rigo. He’s the strongest undead here, the most respected one. He can organize everyone for evacuation. Let’s..." Sage Cabu spoke quickly, but before he could finish his sentence, the smoke turned sharply and fled, not bothering to look back.
Everyone exchanged bewildered looks. Was that it? This was supposed to be their most formidable undead?
"He fled? Now what are we going to do? There are hundreds of thousands of undead here. Evacuation isn’t so simple," Negris said, frustrated.
Ange lifted the Universal Pull Divine Hammer, ready to take flight, but Anthony discreetly held him back.
