Chapter 1350 - Chapter 1350 Chapter 911 Growing So Well Over-fertilized
Chapter 1350: Chapter 911: Growing So Well? Over-fertilized? Chapter 1350: Chapter 911: Growing So Well? Over-fertilized? “Monarch?”
“Oh, it really is you. I thought you wouldn’t hear me from so far away. Hurry, hurry, come and save me,” the Monarch said hastily.
Ange forcefully pried at the bricks.
“Hold on, hold on, what’s your situation? Did you just project your consciousness over here?” Seeing Ange prying so vigorously, the Monarch immediately thought of something and quickly stopped him.
Ange nodded.
“So, you’re just here in spirit? Then don’t rescue me yet, otherwise if they are alerted, it would be troublesome. You should first find a way to regenerate your strength and preserve yourself,” the Monarch quickly calmed down from the excitement of seeing Ange.
If Ange were to rescue him now, he might not be able to escape anyway, and it would alert the enemies. He had already been trapped there, and one day more or one less made no difference; what was most important was for Ange to regain strength first.
Ange stopped what he was doing, thought for a moment, and asked, “Monarch, you, how did you end up like this?”
The Monarch’s ‘old face turned red,’ and he started to stammer out an explanation.
The Spatial Slingshot did fling the Monarch quite a distance, but it was still far from crossing the Energy Level Great Desert. For the latter half of the journey, Ange got by with the power constantly supplied by his Primordial Body, flying for a bit and then resting, forcibly making it through.
In contrast, the Monarch survived by burning his own soul. After depleting his Soul Energy, he continued to burn his soul and held on, resulting in a downgrade of his soul. From a Primordial Body, to a Black Crystal Soul, and then to a Mourning Soul, he had dropped two levels.
It wasn’t the first time anyway; downgraded or not, the Monarch didn’t care. As long as he had crossed the Energy Level Great Desert and came to a place with intelligent life, he could establish a new Soul Network and rapidly recover his Soul Level, just as he had done on the Star Burst Plane by establishing a new Undead Empire.
Moreover, the Lord of Mourning wasn’t incapable of fighting, and on both the Master Plane and the Star Burst Plane, he had fought across planes as a Mourning Soul.
The plan was good, but during the process, a small accident occurred. His domain quietly grew to a certain extent, and he even refined his inhabited skeleton to the purple-gold level, becoming a Mourning Skeleton, ready to go out and fight humans when someone upended him.
“A team of adventurers appeared in my domain. They summoned two Mourning Skeletons, a team of Golden Skeletons, and six Chaos Swordsmen. You know about Chaos Swordsmen, right? Those are human swordsmen that bear the Power of Chaos endowed by the Ancient Godlight. A team of them overran my domain.”
The Monarch said in frustration, “I should have investigated the power levels of this world first. Why can Death Summoners truly summon skeletons, and Mourning Skeletons at that? Why do humans possess the Power of Chaos? Isn’t that the ultimate power of the Ancient Godlight?”
Summoning magic belongs to high-level spatial transfer magic, not something an average wizard can perform, and the scenarios described in knight novels, where a space passage is opened and a bunch of underlings are summoned to fight, are completely unrealistic.
So-called Death Summoners, at most, could do only what Anthony did when he summoned his Black Horse, calling forth some spiritual bodies attached to themselves.
Unless someone like Ange, who possesses a Dimensional Space, can carry around a bunch of ‘people.’
However, the Death Summoners here could truly open Space Passages and summon hordes of skeletons for battle. The Monarch was stunned when they started with two Mourning Skeletons.
He hadn’t anticipated this at all and was swiftly captured, because the adversary had Undead Summoners, and he couldn’t even think of escaping. In the end, he was sealed and brought here to serve as a Soul Charger for Mechanical Constructs, replenishing them with Soul Energy.
The breath within this Mechanical Construct was left behind by the Monarch when borrowing energy during the charging process, transmitted through the pipes in the Black Crystal. Aside from this one, several other Mechanical Constructs had been left with his breath, but as time went on, they eventually broke down one by one.
He never anticipated success; it was a desperate grasp at straws, never expecting that such an attempt would actually summon Ange.
Still, it was his own child who proved reliable, and the Monarch felt greatly comforted.
“This Mechanical Construct is the most basic level; it has no potential for growth. Find a different set of bones to temper, recover your strength, and then come save me,” the Monarch instructed.
Ange nodded but voiced his concern, “Monarch, you’ve been drained of soul energy; will you be alright?”
“You’ve been drained…” The Monarch’s soul flickered as he mildly responded, “They use the Mourning Soul as the core of the Soul Charger because our souls recover quickly. A mere low-level Construct can’t drain all my power; it’s just somewhat painful, but it’s nothing serious.”
The forced extraction of soul energy is a deeply painful affair, with a pain that strikes directly at the soul and cannot be shielded against.
“If only the prohibition didn’t limit me; I could have hoarded breath of death and already broken through the Black Crystal Soul, shattering these constraints. Alas, I was negligent; I should have first understood this world before setting out to slay,” the Monarch lamented.
Ange nodded thoughtfully and took out a Black Crystal he had earlier retrieved from a damaged Construct to show it, then tossed it through the opening.
“Hmm? Good idea; Black Crystals can temporarily store soul energy. I can save the excess energy that exceeds the limits inside it and use it when I make my breakthrough. It’s just too bad this is a regular Black Crystal, not a Chaos Black Crystal,” the Monarch quickly realized and spoke with a mix of excitement and regret.
Chaos Black Crystals have their own system and can hold much more soul energy than regular Black Crystals.
“I’ll tell you everything I know, then you should go. Find another body, recover your strength, and then come save me. Don’t force it; preserving your own safety is more important,” the Monarch warned with utmost concern, fearing Ange might take unnecessary risks.
Ange nodded, stuffed the brick back into place, and then, noticing the rather obvious crack in the brick, he thought for a moment and lightly flicked his finger at the ground’s mortar.
The Pollination Spell lifted the mortar, brought it to his hand, and then he smoothed it over the crack–Solidification Technique.
Good, the mortar filled in the crack seamlessly, and it wasn’t noticeable at all. What was even better was that low-level magic was usable.
Ange then tried Divine Arts and Holy Light Magic, unfortunately to no avail. None of the Divine Arts worked, nor the Holy Light Magic. However, Light Magic was functional, meaning elemental magic was possible to use.
The magic circuit structure of Light Magic was different from what Ange had learned; it collapsed every time he tried combining it until Ange altered several obstructed areas, finally managing to cast a level-one Illumination Spell.
Ange pondered for a moment and began to understand the reason behind this. The light of the Master Plane originates from the gaze of Ancient Godlight, fundamentally different from the light in this world, hence the inconsistency in the magic structures.
A gaze? Ange silently turned his own gaze to his fingertips, and the next moment, they started glowing, emitting a soft white radiance.
Through the latter half of the night, Ange tested various abilities, repeatedly experimenting and comparing, seeking to discern the differences between the two worlds. It was tedious work, but compared to contrasting the growth of crops, it seemed straightforward, and by dawn, the fruits of his labor were significant.
The next day, Ange was taken back to the farm to continue managing the section he was responsible for. He discreetly observed the other Constructs and quickly understood his duties: watering, fertilizing, weeding, pest control, pruning, defoliation, harvesting…
It was indeed farming, quite similar to cultivating Fire Dragon Fruit.
This was incredibly easy for Ange. Within days, the section he tended stood out markedly, prompting the human managing the farm to come and take a look, unable to help himself, “Why does this plot look so healthy? Did you over-fertilize?”
