Foreign Land Reclamation By a Vegetable-growing Skeleton
Chapter 1336 - Chapter 1336 Chapter 897 Light Splintered

Chapter 1336: Chapter 897: Light Splintered Chapter 1336: Chapter 897: Light Splintered Negris lay bored on the windowsill, watching the energetic students below playfully teasing each other. He was both envious and jealous, and couldn’t help but mutter, “Damn Little Bone, ran off and left me all alone. Shouldn’t have brought it out in the first place.”

Since Little Bone ran away, Negris, as a Yellow Mud Book, couldn’t move on his own. If he didn’t want to be caught and shoved into a library, he had no choice but to follow Ninova and head back to the Magic Academy first and then figure out how to find Little Bone or Anthony. Without someone to carry him, he was powerless to do anything.

Little Bone had disappeared without a trace, and Negris had no idea how to find it. What was he going to do, post a job at the Mercenary Guild to find a skeleton called Little Bone?

Unable to find Little Bone, he could only try to find Anthony. At least there were clues to finding Anthony. If he could find the Church of Light, there was a chance of making contact with Anthony.

But after making this request, Ninova and the others seemed troubled and said, “Okay, I’ll look for you, but I can’t guarantee I’ll find anything.”

Negris didn’t understand at first, but then Ninova disappeared as well, and hadn’t shown up for half a month. Could she have also run off?

As he was lost in his thoughts, the door to the room was cautiously pushed open, and a female mage snuck in stealthily, quietly closing the door behind her. Then, in a low voice, she called out, “Lord Negris, Lord of Knowledge, are you there?”

“Right here, what do you want?” Negris recognized her as the female mage from Ninova’s adventure team, something Polis was her name.

“Oh, Lord of Knowledge, you’re here, thank goodness.” Polis hurried over to Negris and pulled out several thick tomes from her bag, whispering, “Didn’t you say last time that you wanted information about the Church of Light? I’ve got it for you.”

Negris was bemused and asked, “So you found it, why are you acting like a thief?”

Polis’s face turned red as she responded coyly, “How did you know? I stole it. Quick, read it so I can return it.”

“Ha, you had to steal this? You weren’t caught, were you?” Negris wanted to spit blood, formed a phantom image, and rapidly flipped through the books in front of him.

Polis muttered in dissatisfaction, “Pay attention to what you’re reading, I went to a lot of trouble to steal this. Can you even see anything, reading like that?”

“This is speed reading,” Negris replied, “You wouldn’t understand, ha–The Church of Light split up?!” He couldn’t finish his sentence before he felt like spitting blood.

The Church of Light had actually split into the fundamentalist Church of Light, the Holy Church, and the Holy Light Society.

The Church of Light was the fundamentalist faction, adhering to the most ancient doctrines, demanding that the followers endure hardship, be thrifty, self-reliant, helpful, and grow vegetables.

Negris wanted to spit blood. This wasn’t fundamentalism, it was clearly ascetic monk ideology. As for growing vegetables, that must have been Ange’s addition.

The Holy Church more closely matched the previous standards of the Church of Light, full of talk about sacredness and Light, but in reality rotten to the core. Its teachings didn’t contain many standards for asceticism, making it better suited for the general populace.

As for the Holy Light Society, it was a worldly sect, believing that Light should serve as guidance built upon the common people. Priests needed to integrate with society to find the true Light.

If one didn’t view it from the perspective of the common people, what they saw might not be Light but a scorching sun that burnt everything to ashes.

Reading this, Negris frowned, feeling that something was off.

Thus, the Holy Light Society integrated into the entire human world, becoming officials, organizers, heads of commerce guilds, or professionals, trying to discover what Light truly meant for humanity.

This is how the Church of Light ended up split into three factions. The fundamentalist Church of Light nearly disappeared because their teachings were too harsh, practically the standards of ascetic monks, which the average person couldn’t endure. They either switched to the Holy Church or completely turned their backs, becoming apostates or pagans.

“””Ange, really, can you mess around with doctrine like that? And farming? Farm his huge ghost head.” Negris muttered.

Polis was shocked, “Did you really finish reading? Is speed reading that amazing? The Ange you’re talking about, isn’t that the one…”

At this point, Polis took a deep breath, “Joint ruler of the Dark Origin and Abyssal Origin, King of all Ancient Gods in the Void, of Knowledge, Farming, Harvest, and Beauty, of Equality and Justice, of War and Peace… Administrator of God’s Power, Void Rule Reverser… the Ange of Time Origin?”

Negris’s eyes widened in shock, “That shameless guy, giving himself such a long title!”

Polis’s eyes sparkled with excitement as she asked, “Is it really him? Lord of Knowledge, can you introduce me to Ange Origin?”

If Negris hadn’t been personally brought out from the Land Forbidden to Gods by them, Polis wouldn’t have had such a ridiculous idea.

“It’s easy, just go outside and bask in the sun for a while, and he’ll be able to see right through you,” Negris responded sarcastically.

Polis didn’t understand what he meant and thought her request was too abrupt and that Negris was unwilling, so she dared not ask further. Instead, she changed the subject, “Then, Lord Nage, can you teach me the speed reading method?”

“Want to learn? No problem, I’ll teach you, but I’m bored of staying here, take me to your place,” Negris said.

“Ah, isn’t that bad? It’s not convenient; you could see everything when I change clothes,” Polis responded.

Negris looked her up and down, his thought penetrating her clothes and scanning her entire body, “I’ve already seen you in the buff now, so it won’t be inconvenient anymore.”

Polis stood in a daze for a while before nodding, “That makes sense, well okay. But you have to teach me the speed reading method, and anything I don’t understand, I can ask you, right?”

“Sure, sure, no problem. But first, tell me, which faction do you believe in here? The Church of Light or the Holy Light Society?” Negris asked.

Polis looked at him puzzled, “We believe in you here, knowledge is power, we are all followers of the God of Knowledge.”

Negris looked at her skeptically, if they all believed in the God of Knowledge, why couldn’t he feel the Faith Elemental Force? Was it because he hadn’t condensed his God Status? The previous Imprint was just an imprint, not a God Status.

The Starburst Array didn’t believe in the Light, so where should he go to find Anthony? Negris couldn’t help but feel a headache coming on.

Emil wolfed down a piece of breadfruit, munching and saying incredulously, “It really tastes like bread, how amazing. Why are there such magical fruits?”

Little Bone replied, “Planted.”

The most planted in the Land Forbidden to Gods were breadfruit trees, date trees, Divine Wood, and God flowers, anything edible. Little Bone would plant them and habitually pick some to carry with him as seeds.

Unfortunately, the desert climate wasn’t very suitable for planting breadfruit trees. Date trees were more appropriate, but with the new variety of sea buckthorn, Little Bone wanted to play with the new variety first before choosing the most suitable one to plant.

Adams asked, “Why are you here? You look like you haven’t eaten or drunk in days, what happened?”

Emil glanced at the bone stick beside Little Bone. He heard the voice coming from there, but since Little Bone hadn’t introduced it, he didn’t dare to ask and could only say:

“I was supposed to go to Black Soil Village for an arbitration, but halfway there, my Bone Horse’s front leg bone broke, and I had to proceed on foot. But as I walked, I ran out of water and food and lost my way, ending up like this. Thank you, Lord Sky Rider, for saving my life.”
