Chapter 1291 - Chapter 1291 Chapter 854 As Long as the Distance is Far
Chapter 1291: Chapter 854: As Long as the Distance is Far Enough Chapter 1291: Chapter 854: As Long as the Distance is Far Enough They saw on the simulated illusion a flat surface like a huge pancake, the Chaos Plane, with Ange marking two points on it, perpendicular to the invisible central axis, and asked everyone.
Negris shook his head and said, “All matter of the Chaos Plane is concentrated on the disc; there’s nothing but void above and below the axis, absolutely nothing. How could it be there?”
Hiludi pondered thoughtfully while Tyrone and others gathered around to examine.
Abyssal Big Mouth and Dark Origin thought hard, shook their heads, and then looked toward the Little Devil, Starfire, and Light of Creation, among others.
It’s usually the bosses who sit in the offices gesturing commands, while the minions run around; keepers like the Little Demon King, such as the Ancient God Hunter, are more familiar with the nooks and crannies of the Chaos Plane.
Without hesitation, the Little Devil and Starfire shook their heads, and Light of Creation even said, “Normally, the Chaos Plane attracts everything around it, much wider than Lord Abyss’s range, and no matter can stay in those areas–it all gets pulled to this flat plane, that’s why it’s called the ‘Plane’ of Chaos.”
The plane refers to it being a flat ‘plane’ and not a circle. No material or energy can stay long outside this plane, and even if an Ancient God flies beyond the ‘plane’, once they stop, they would soon be sucked back to the Chaos Plane.
Even the Chaos Tide, the spreading mist, only accumulates on the ‘plane’ and doesn’t drift upwards or downwards, which means the places Ange marked are completely empty, devoid of any Dimensional Space anchor points.
After some calculations, Tyrone, Cabrela, and others also agreed it was impossible: “Even if there once was one, the pulling force of the Chaos Plane would continuously tear it apart.”
“No, not necessarily,” Hiludi suddenly raised his head confidently and said, “As long as the distance is far enough, your worries are invalid. What if the anchor isn’t here, but over here instead?”
Hiludi walked to the edge of the projection, first pointed at the spot marked by Ange, then moved outside the vertical axis to a point about five times the diameter of the Chaos Plane and stopped.
“If it’s at this distance, the Chaos Plane’s gravity won’t affect it, and a lot of material will accumulate,” Hiludi confidently stated.
Tyrone and Cabrela exchanged glances, immersing themselves in calculations; they couldn’t figure it out for a long time until Negris leaned in and calculated the answer in a few seconds.
“At a hundred and sixty-seven million kilometers away, the matter in the void will not be affected by the gravity of the Chaos Plane, hiss, is the formula wrong? One Hundred and Sixty Million Seven Hundred Million? Kilometers?” Having calculated the answer, Negris even began to doubt the formula.
“That’s way too far. If I fly a million kilometers a day, it would still take me one hundred and sixty-seven days to reach?” the Little Devil couldn’t help but exclaim.
The room instantly erupted in murmurs; a hundred million kilometers was baffling enough, but mentioning flying for one hundred and sixty-seven days made everyone instantly grasp the vast distance.
“You can fly a million kilometers in a day?” Starfire looked skeptically at the Little Devil.
The Little Devil quickly shook his head: “Not really, it’s just an example. I’d be doing well to fly two hundred thousand kilometers in a day.”
Starfire sighed and muttered softly, “I can’t even fly five hundred thousand kilometers in a day, and your tiny wings are supposed to be faster than mine?”
The farthest the Ancient God Hunters had ever flown was when they attacked the Master Plane, which took almost half a year. But that was after the Hole Bugs had transported them to the outskirts of the Master Plane, and only then they began to fly.
Having flown for nearly half a year, about one hundred and fifty days, the same speed as the Great Demon King, meant they had flown over thirty million kilometers in the Void.
But the number now calculated was over one hundred and sixty million; for the Little Devil to fly there, it would take one hundred and fifty times five, over seven hundred and fifty days…
Even for an Ancient God Hunter like the Little Devil, this distance felt too vast; setting aside whether they could even get there, just flying over seven hundred days in the Void would be unbearably boring.
Everyone exchanged glances, then the Monarch suddenly asked Hiludi, “Human, why do you think this distance could establish an anchor point?”
Hiludi said blankly, “No, it just came to me in a flash of inspiration.”
The Monarch turned toward Negris and said, “Your aura has affected her.”
“Perhaps, this child has been smart since she was young,” Negris admitted, unsure himself.
Its ‘Intelligence Transfer Aura’ was too covert; transferring intelligence to the smartest person? They were already smart, so it was hard to tell the difference with the transfer.
But this type of aura was particularly useful. Even the most intelligent people reach their limits and often can’t think their way out, but just a slight increase in intelligence could spark a breakthrough.
It seemed most practical to offer it to places like the Mage Tower, Arcane Association, and Goblin Research Institute.
“How about we try it?” the Monarch suggested.
“But it’s over 160 million kilometers away, it will take a long time to fly there. Do we have so much time?” asked Negris, “A snail can fly two million kilometers a day, and even for it, it would take seventy to eighty days, more than three months just to get there and seven months for a round trip.”
“Only seven months, I might blink and decades pass,” the Monarch said nonchalantly.
“That was before, now the Void is collapsing, who knows when it might collapse here?” Negris argued.
“But you staying here isn’t useful either. How about Ange stays and you ride the snail there?” the Monarch proposed again.
“Aaaaah– burn you!” Negris, incensed, spewed Mini Dragon Breath in the Monarch’s face.
After some discussion, they finally decided to go have a look. There were two directions along the vertical axis, for ease of memory, let’s call them up and down. Ange and the Monarch went together, taking Hiludi and others, riding the Super Speed Snail to the upper point.
Lord Abyss and Dark Origin went as another team, taking along Starfire Creation Little Devil and others, heading to the lower point.
“But by doing so, the distance exceeds three hundred million kilometers, beyond a hundred million kilometers, our Soul Contact might not be able to transmit information. If you find something, how will we communicate?” the Monarch asked Dark Origin.
Soul Contact had its limits; beyond a certain distance, it could not transmit information. Similar to the Master Plane and the Star Burst Plane, though Dark Origin and Ange had a Soul Contact, they could not communicate over such a distance about what’s on the other side.
This was a problem–did they have to wait until everyone returned to the Chaos Plane to learn what the other team encountered? That cycle was too long.
Ange’s team rode the Super Speed Snail, covering two million kilometers a day, requiring seven months for a round trip. Dark Origin’s team was not as fast. Carrying them, they could travel about nine hundred thousand kilometers a day, taking nearly two hundred days for a round trip.
That meant they needed two hundred days to exchange information. What if Ange’s team found an anchor point and needed to call for reinforcements, or if Dark Origin’s team found one but got attacked by Void Will, needing Ange’s rescue?
“My Lord, let me accompany you, and let Great Devil accompany Lord Abyss. The two of us brothers can communicate over long distances, even transfer,” suggested Little Devil, raising his hand.
Ange tilted his head.
Negris translated, “Great Devil? Where is Great Devil? Wasn’t he missing?”
Little Devil awkwardly said, “No, no, he’s currently acting as an arbitrator in the market, resolving disputes for those who have been cheated. If you agree, I will call him over.”
“Oh, so he ended up in the market? Makes sense, with your remote abilities, how could you not know each other’s location? Call him over, he can accompany Big Mouth.”
After the teams were assigned, everyone split into two groups, flying along the central axis towards the upper and lower endpoints.
