Chapter 1253 - Chapter 1253 Chapter 816 Did I Revert to An Ancestor

Chapter 1253: Chapter 816: Did I Revert to An Ancestor? Chapter 1253: Chapter 816: Did I Revert to An Ancestor? “This is the root of the God of Tree, you promised to manifest me,” Awuli said.

Ange nodded for the seventh time, which was no different from the first, but Negris was getting impatient and said irritably, “I know, I know, you’ve said it eight hundred times already.”

Awuli tilted her head and thought seriously for a moment, “Not eight hundred times, but you promised to manifest me.”

Ange nodded for the eighth time.

Negris ran out of patience and said, “Truly dumber than a sheep. How can Ange be so patient? It’s been eight hundred times and he’s still this patient.”

Anthony gave him a sidelong glance and remained silent.

Negris immediately took the hint and turned his head away.

Anthony whispered, “Among those that Lord shelters, is there any who is not troublesome? Besides, without patience, one couldn’t possibly nurture a new seed.”

Negris thought about it and agreed. Little Angel, Little Zombie, Big Bone, White Neck, not many of them are fuel-efficient lamps, without patience it’s truly hard to manage them, underestimating this Dead Skull.

With the patience of nurturing a seedling, Ange led Awuli to the base of the giant tree. After arriving there, Awuli didn’t stop but raised her leg and ‘walked’ onto the trunk, stepping on the trunk formed by rays of light and walking upwards.

Although slightly surprised, everyone still followed it up the trunk. After all, this place is just Consciousness Space, the laws of the outside world have no effect here.

As expected, after walking on the trunk, everyone’s perception changed–the roots seemed to become the ground, while the original ground turned into rocky walls. Of course, these things were all made up of rays of light, just with outlines and patterns of lines, like a simple drawing drawn with colorful pencils.

While walking, Ange saw the outline of a fruit sketched by the rays of light on the ground. Out of curiosity, Ange touched the fruit with his hand.

A fruit as big as a watermelon but with a cherry-like glossy skin slowly manifested.

Holding it in his hand, Ange asked, “What is this?”

“It has no name, remember to manifest me,” Awuli said.

Ange nodded and asked, “Does it have any, purpose?”

Awuli cocked her head, “I don’t know, it might taste really good, I think it’s delicious.”

Anthony said, “It seems to be a very rare fruit, should we find someone to try it?”

“Don’t rush, it has eaten it, wouldn’t it know what effect it has? What if it’s deceiving us?” Negris hesitantly said.

Anthony shook his head, “That’s a normal reaction. Elves eating the Fruit of Life, would they feel any effect? No, they take it for granted, but short-lived races eating it could extend their lifespan.”

“Elves are like that, let alone it being a Consciousness Body, it won’t know what effect it would have on other beings. It’s a rare item, not likely that other beings would have eaten it either, how could it still be rare then?”

Negris suddenly realized, “Right, just like in those knight novels, there’s often this rare item identification, I always find such plots strange. If it’s rare, how could just anyone identify it? Can it be called rare if everyone can identify it?”

“Exactly, it must be those gods with extensive knowledge and rich experience who can identify it through other similar items, deducing from them. So you have a taste, try identifying it,” Anthony said.

Negris said irritably, “I knew you were going to trick me into it, why don’t you try and identify it?”

“You have extensive knowledge, you are the God of Knowledge, while I don’t even know what kind or type it is, even if I ate it I couldn’t identify it,” Anthony retorted.

Negris rolled his eyes, “Although I know you want to trick me, since you speak so nicely, I’ll reluctantly try to identify it.”

After saying that, he bit into the fruit and immediately his whole body shivered, exaggeratingly widened his eyes, and said with an unbelievably shocked expression, “This is so delicious–yeah,” his tone exaggerated to the point of trembling at the end.

“Is it really that exaggerated? Why do I feel like you’re the type who tastes a sour lemon, insists it’s sweet, and tries to drag others into it too?” Anthony looked at Negris skeptically.

“No, no, no, I’m not lying to you, it really is delicious. It’s not about the taste, but the soul. It’s like it brings up all the best food memories you have, making you feel great from head to toe. It’s magical, you should try it,” Negris said excitedly.

Anthony shook his head firmly, “No, if it’s good, then you eat more. Do you feel anything?”

Negris did not insist further because it truly was delicious, not just to the taste buds but to the soul. Taking a bite seemed to evoke all the wonderful flavors in memory, making one tremble in body and mind.

If one must draw a comparison, perhaps only the legendary Divine Intercourse with an Enchanting Demon could compete.

“Is it really that good?” Seeing how happily Negris was eating, Anthony knew it wasn’t just a hard sell that “lemons are sweet.” He couldn’t wait to experience what soul-level deliciousness felt like. But as he finished speaking, he stared blankly over Negris’s shoulder.

Ange also looked behind Negris, and everyone turned to look; there emerged a contour of an Ancient Dragon outlined in light, mirroring Negris’s actions.

This outline wasn’t just a scaled-up version of Negris but a projection of a more ancient form, as if a cat’s shadow resembled a fierce tiger, outlined by the light in a form closer to that of a Bone Dragon.

“This… Lord Nage, you might want to look behind you,” Anthony couldn’t help but suggest.

Negris bit into the fruit, smacked his lips, twisted his head to look, and then froze. A while later, he resumed chewing the fruit and mumbled unclearly, “Is this a shadow of my consciousness? Has this fruit enhanced my consciousness? Evoked my ancestry?”

“So this kind of fruit can enhance consciousness? Uh, Lord Nage…” Anthony said with a friendly smile.

As soon as Negris heard this, he knew what Anthony was after. Rapidly stuffing the remaining fruit into his mouth and swallowing it whole, he thought, ‘Hah, you had your chance to try, and now you still want a piece? Dream on.’

Anthony looked towards Little Angel and Little Zombie, and with great mutual understanding, they all nodded and scattered in all directions.

Before long, Anthony called out loud, “Lord, there’s one over here.”

Soon after, Little Angel also shouted, “Oh!”

Little Zombie echoed, “Oh.”

After a thorough search, they found a total of twenty fruits, all of which Ange manifested and collected.

However, this number was much lower than expected. Such a massive tree, yet only twenty of these fruits? That seemed impossible.

“Could they be growing on the canopy?” Negris asked.

Awuli replied, “No, this type of fruit only grows on the trunk. The canopy grows a different kind.”

“A different kind? What fruit is that?” Negris’s interest was piqued. If the trunk’s fruit could enhance his consciousness, what miraculous effects might the canopy’s fruit possess?

Awuli shook her head, “I don’t know, I didn’t name it.”

Alright, so much for not knowing anything; probably not the Spirit of the Divine Tree. If such a dim-witted spirit controlled the Divine Tree, that tree must be incredibly stupid.

Ange carefully examined Negris’s spirit, consciousness, and essence, noticing all had enhanced significantly, particularly the consciousness, with no negative effects.

After confirming it was safe, he distributed a fruit each to Little Angel, Little Zombie, and Anthony, keeping the rest for now.

“Aren’t you going to eat?” Negris asked.

Ange shook his head, “No need, I’m strong enough.”

“Alright, alright, we get it, your soul is strong enough that even the consciousness fruit can’t enhance you further. You’re so strong, you’ve manifested the entire tree; don’t we now have a Tree of Ten Thousand Realms?” The first part might have been a tease, but at the latter half, Negris’s eyes lit up.
