Chapter 1063 - Chapter 1063 Chapter 628 Arguing Teacher

Chapter 1063: Chapter 628 Arguing Teacher Chapter 1063: Chapter 628 Arguing Teacher This obsequious phrasing, this ingratiating tone, these humble words…is this really the Serpent of Misfortune? Or a silver coin peddler?

Negris was dumbfounded and couldn’t help but ask, “Are you really the Serpent of Misfortune?”

“Oh my, too polite, too polite! Serpent of Misfortune is such a harsh title, just call me Little Snake. And you must be Lord Nage, right? Your name is as thunderous in its renown,” said a second snake head that had split from the shadow biting Tyranus, speaking with lively expressions.

Seeing its expressions, Negris felt a surge of familiarity as if he had seen these sly looks somewhere before.

But he couldn’t recall where he had seen them, so he had no choice but to set it aside for the moment, and he asked in confusion, “Little Snake… Ahem, Serpent of Misfortune, what’s going on here?”

“Oh, here’s the situation: These Titans sneakily made their way near the Master Plane and even bribed a Snake Mage of Misfortune to gather intelligence and seek advice. Naturally, that Snake Mage of Misfortune suggested they take a hike, a long hike, never to return, as the Master Plane already has an owner.”

“But this Titan was quite fierce and threatened the Snake Mage of Misfortune on the spot, who had no choice but to change his tune. He told them that if they could destabilize the Master Plane, they might achieve their current goal of invasion. And so, these Titans initiated their planar invasion.”

“After being released, that Snake Mage of Misfortune reported back to me, scaring me half to death! How could he casually reveal the status of the Master Plane and come up with bad suggestions like burning down forests, cities, and farms? Despicable! I was so enraged that I punished him,” said the Serpent of Misfortune.

When speaking of the word ‘farmland,’ the Serpent of Misfortune sped up his speech, lowering his voice and mumbling, leaving everyone unclear about that particular word, and Ange naturally had no reaction.

Relieved, the Serpent of Misfortune hurriedly continued, “In order to rectify that idiot’s mistake, I quickly contacted that Titan, lured him out of the Void, and then, using the breath of the Serpent of Misfortune, I stimulated your Dragon God Transformation, Lord Nage. Together we captured this Titan. That’s the whole story.”

Negris was dumbstruck. Hadn’t the Serpent of Misfortune always been the Dragon Clan’s archenemy? Why did it sound as if it were a subordinate of Ange’s?

The Serpent’s account seemed flawless: indeed, it was the one that aroused Ange’s Dragon Soul, resulting in multiple transformations, and it certainly was the one that captured Tyranus. Yet, Negris felt something was off.

Enraged, Tyranus roared, “You’re lying! You deceiver! It was you who tricked me into coming out, and you ambushed me!”

The Serpent of Misfortune revealed a very lively expression, “How else could I have lured you out? Think about it, what exactly did I say at the time? Did I say ‘I lay an ambush’? But did I specify whom I was ambushing?”

Upon careful reflection, Tyranus was at a loss for words–indeed, the Serpent had only mentioned laying an ambush without specifying the target.

Kvada, caught by its devil’s trick! So it had already set a verbal trap from the beginning, ready to betray itself. Why?! Why? Wasn’t it the archenemy of the Dragon Clan?

Could it be true, as it claimed, that it was just a Little Snake brought by the Dragon God to frighten the Dragon Clan?

After thinking for a long time without figuring out the oddity, Negris couldn’t help but ask Ange, “Can you summon Anthony back? Or even a silver coin would do.”

Ange shook his head, getting them here was easy, but getting them back was difficult. It was manageable if Negris’s true form was the versatile Bronze Book, but for Anthony, they could only fit his head back, and he would die if it was only his head. The same went for a silver coin.

Durken and Feiti, however, could be returned.

“No, no, no, what use would those two be back here? They aren’t even as smart as me,” Negris said dismissively.

Without the cunning of Anthony and a silver coin for political maneuvering, Negris had no other choice but to bite the bullet and ask directly, “Aren’t you supposed to be our Dragon Clan’s archenemy? Why would you help us?”

“Oh, Lord Nage, you jest. Who told you I’m the archenemy of your Dragon Clan?” responded the Serpent of Misfortune.

“Uh, as for the bloodline inheritance, all of us dragons know about it,” Negris said.

“Hey, it’s so unjust, you accuse me of being the Dragon Clan’s natural enemy, but have I ever harmed you? How did I harm you?” the Serpent of Misfortune asked.

“Just one look from you, and instead of Juvenile Dragons, our eggs would hatch into snakes,” Negris said angrily at the thought.

The Serpent of Misfortune, looking quite at ease, asked, “Who? Who has ever hatched snakes? What’s their name? For such a big matter, there should be at least three to five victims, seven to eight witnesses, a dozen onlookers, right? What are their names? Don’t tell me the bloodline inheritance didn’t pass down their names.”

“Called… called… what was it again?” Just as Negris was about to list who it was, he opened his mouth and couldn’t recall a single name.

“Go on, what are they called? Such a big matter, surely it can’t be that there are no victims? You’re slandering me without evidence, ruining my reputation, hurting my feelings. Is there no divine law left? No morals? No equality?” the Serpent of Misfortune said passionately.

When he heard the word “equality,” Ange cocked his head.

Negris immediately realized, “Damn, it knows about your equality and the Libra God Statue, deliberately mentioning ‘equality.’ It’s so cunning. But why aren’t there names of any victimized dragons? Even if it was to protect the privacy of the victimized dragons, there should at least be the names of witness dragons and onlooker dragons.”

Negris started muttering to himself. If the Serpent of Misfortune hadn’t spoken, Negris and the rest of the Dragon Clan wouldn’t have noticed the problem. The information engraved in their bloodline inheritance by the Dragon God was considered an absolute decree, and no Giant Dragon would question its veracity.

Actually, if some other Giant Dragon had been there today, they wouldn’t have listened to the Serpent of Misfortune’s words either. Negris was almost the only one capable of questioning the Dragon God and the bloodline inheritance because he himself was one of the gods, known as the second dragon of the Dragon Clan to ignite the Divine Fire.

Of course, the main reason was that he was too familiar with the ‘Dragon God,’ since his true form was currently tucked at the ‘Dragon God’s’ waist.

Once he questioned it, the issue immediately arose. There had to be victims and onlookers, right? And the ‘snakes’ that hatched should exist as well, right?

No, the bloodline inheritance contained no such information.

Seeing Negris fall silent, the Serpent of Misfortune knew it had swayed him and quickly threw out the same argument it had used on Tyranus, “You know how some boring folks catch snakes to scare kids, right? I’m just that snake caught to scare you lot. I’m not the Dragon Clan’s natural enemy at all.”

“Think about it, just one look from me and your dragon eggs turn into snakes. I’m not your natural enemy, I’d be your nemesis, but I simply don’t have such immense power,” the Serpent of Misfortune said, almost crying from feeling so aggrieved.

Negris shuddered violently. Right, when he first heard about it, something felt off. It wasn’t until later, after deducing that it could be some sort of Divine Arts, that he reluctantly accepted it because with sufficient Faith Elemental Force, such Divine Arts could be performed.

But once Ange unified the Master Plane and took control of the world’s hub station, gathering intelligence from all major planes, Negris realized this speculation was unreliable. The Serpent of Misfortune didn’t have a multitude of followers; it couldn’t gather enough Faith Elemental Force.

“Alright, you’ve convinced me. Then why are you helping us?” Negris asked.

“What kind of question is that? Maintaining plane balance is a responsibility every creature living in this world should fulfill. These external interlopers are ruining the Master Plane. The entire world is on the verge of collapse, so of course, I can’t just sit by and do nothing. Don’t thank me; this is my duty,” the Serpent of Misfortune declared shamelessly.

Negris finally remembered why there was a familiar sensation about it and couldn’t help asking, “Your shameless demeanor…do you happen to know a particularly foul-mouthed Unicorn?”

The Serpent of Misfortune became visibly uncomfortable, “I know, I know it. It’s my teacher now, my argument teacher.”

“Pfft…”
