Chapter 147: Destination
Chapter 147: Destination
Zamian, Little Zami, and Mira sat at the dining table. The room was quiet, save for the soft clinking and clanking of their cutlery, creating a peaceful, family-like atmosphere. The air was filled with the mouth-watering aroma of freshly cooked food, drifting through the room like an invisible thread that made everything feel just a little more special.
Mira occasionally placed food onto Little Zami’s plate, and the child smiled up at her with sincere gratitude. The moments of quiet contentment were broken only by the soft murmur of their voices and the sounds of food being served.
"Mom, the food is so, so yummy!" Little Zami exclaimed, her eyes sparkling with delight. She practically bounced in her seat as she took another bite of her meal.
Mira smiled warmly, her heart swelling with love. "Yes, love, it’s so, so good," she replied softly. She gazed at her daughter, her expression full of affection. There was something about this simple, ordinary moment that filled her with happiness—like everything in her life had led to this point.
Little Zami returned her mother’s smile, the warmth in her small face making Mira’s heart ache. The three of them continued eating, their voices quieting as they simply enjoyed each other’s presence. For a while, there were no words, just the peaceful sounds of a family content in the moment. But, as always, Zamian’s voice broke the calm, bringing a new subject into their shared world.
"I’ve booked an airplane for us," Zamian said, his tone calm, yet there was an underlying excitement that seemed to seep into his words. "We’ll be leaving the day after tomorrow, to my kingdom."
Little Zami looked up at her father, curiosity dancing in her eyes. It was clear she had many questions. She stared at him, her young mind racing with thoughts she couldn’t quite put into words. She opened her mouth to speak, but before she could voice her wonderings, both Zamian and Mira turned to her.
"Little Zami, baby," Mira began softly, her voice filled with affection. "Do you know you’re a princess?"
Little Zami’s eyes lit up as she nodded enthusiastically. "Of course, I am, Mommy. You always tell me that!" she exclaimed, her smile wide and innocent. The idea of being a princess was something she had always embraced, even in the most fantastical way, but this time, there was a shift in her mother’s tone, a hint of something deeper.
Mira smiled at her daughter’s enthusiasm but didn’t let the conversation end there. "Yes, you are, but do you know you’re a real princess?" she asked, her voice tender, yet holding an edge of seriousness.
Little Zami’s eyes widened in surprise. She blinked, her brow furrowing in confusion as she searched her mother’s face. "Really?" she asked, her voice a mix of disbelief and excitement.
Mira nodded, her smile widening. "Your father is a real king."
Zamian, his face softer than usual, added with a warm smile, "And your mom is a real queen." He turned to Mira, offering her a playful wink that caused her to blush slightly, though she masked it quickly.
Mira understood the deeper layers of his words—the significance of the title, the weight of it. But for now, she knew that Little Zami didn’t need to understand everything. For her, the simple truth was enough. The truth that she was, indeed, a princess. A real one.
Zamian’s expression grew serious, but his affection for his family remained evident. "I’d like to show you my kingdom," he said, his voice taking on a more solemn tone, as though inviting them into a part of his life that he had always kept distant.
Mira turned to Little Zami, her eyes twinkling with excitement. "Would you like to come?" she asked, her words filled with warmth and anticipation.
Little Zami clapped her hands, her face lighting up with pure joy. "Yes, of course, Mommy!" she squealed, her excitement palpable. She couldn’t wait to see the kingdom her father had mentioned, the kingdom that seemed so far removed from the life they lived now.
The family shared a quiet laugh, their bond strengthened by the simple joy of the moment. After a few more bites of food, they resumed their meal in peaceful silence, savoring the food and the quiet comfort of being together.
Two days later, the family arrived at the airport. Little Zami was practically bursting with excitement. She couldn’t contain herself. The anticipation swirled inside her, a whirlwind of joy and disbelief. As they walked through the airport, she kept biting her lip, trying to hold back her smile, but it was impossible. Her wide eyes took in every detail, from the soaring ceilings to the bustling crowd of travelers, but nothing compared to the realization that she was about to board an airplane to her father’s kingdom.
For Little Zami, this was the moment she had been waiting for. Every princess cartoon she had watched now seemed so much more real. She was a princess! And she was about to fly to a real kingdom.
Mira, too, was overwhelmed by the events unfolding before her. She had never imagined this for herself. A part of her had always known Zamian was someone special, but to be told she was a queen, that her life had changed so dramatically... It still felt like a dream. She never dreamed she would end up with someone like Zamian, a king. The surreal thought lingered in her mind, and yet, as the lady led them toward the airplane, she couldn’t help the smile that tugged at her lips. She had come so far in this journey, and now the next Chapter awaited them.
The family boarded the private plane, and Little Zami eagerly settled into the middle seat. Her energy was almost infectious. Zamian and Mira sat beside her, their hearts full as they anticipated the journey ahead. Zamian had always been eager to show them his kingdom, and now it was happening. For the first time, Mira felt like she was truly a part of that world, too.
Little Zami immediately pulled out the iPad and started playing her game. Her small fingers tapped away at the screen, her attention consumed by the digital world. Mira, on the other hand, leaned back in her seat, pressing her head gently against the chair. She closed her eyes for a moment, allowing herself to breathe deeply, to relax into the steady hum of the airplane’s engines. The soft whoosh of air outside the windows, combined with the rhythmic motion of the flight, created a peaceful atmosphere. It was a rare moment of calm amidst the excitement that pulsed through the cabin.
But as Mira sat there, her body swayed gently with the plane’s movements, and the peaceful rhythm of the flight began to lull her. Slowly, her eyes closed, and before long, she had drifted into a deep, restful sleep. Her breath was steady, her body completely relaxed.
Meanwhile, Little Zami, still holding onto the iPad, continued her game. After a while, though, she, too, began to feel the weight of the journey. Her small fingers grew slower as fatigue settled in. The device slipped from her hands and landed softly beside her on the seat. She yawned, stretching her tiny arms before snuggling deeper into her seat. Her eyes fluttered closed, and soon she, too, was fast asleep.
Zamian, who had been quietly working on his tablet, looked up when he noticed the stillness beside him. Both Mira and Little Zami were fast asleep, and for a moment, he simply watched them. His expression softened, a rare tenderness in his eyes as he observed his family. They were at peace, and that was all that mattered.
With a quiet motion, he pressed the button on his seat, and it reclined into a bed. The private plane’s comfort made everything smoother and more relaxed, allowing them to enjoy the journey without any unnecessary distractions. Zamian, too, closed his eyes for a moment, allowing himself to rest, though his mind was never far from the kingdom that awaited them.
Minutes passed. The soft whir of the engines and the gentle sway of the plane were a lullaby to Mira. Her eyes fluttered open slowly. She blinked a few times, adjusting to the change in light. Her gaze shifted to Little Zami, who was now stretching and yawning beside her. There was a soft, content smile on Mira’s lips as she observed her daughter, happy to see her so at ease.
Just then, as if responding to their wakefulness, the flight attendants arrived, bringing snacks and chocolate cookies for them to enjoy. Their polite gestures and impeccable service added a sense of calm to the atmosphere, making Mira feel both pampered and appreciative.
The attendants handed a plate of treats to Little Zami, who smiled brightly and looked up at her mother. Mira nodded with a soft smile, opening a bottle of water that Little Zami handed to her. She passed it to her daughter, who eagerly drank from it, savoring the cool relief before taking a few bites of the snacks.
Both Mira and Zamian were served as well, and Mira felt a warm, contented feeling fill her chest. Everything was going smoothly. She silently thanked the attendants for their impeccable service, grateful for their respectful manner. As the snacks were finished, Little Zami, now more energetic, turned her attention to the window, pressing her little nose against the glass.
"Mommy, the clouds are so beautiful!" she exclaimed, her voice full of wonder.
Mira smiled and nodded, her eyes twinkling. "Yes, baby, they’re so, so beautiful."
Zamian, who usually didn’t pay much attention to things like clouds, found himself looking out the window at Little Zami’s excitement. For the first time, he noticed just how beautiful the sky looked, the clouds fluffy and endless in their quiet majesty. He gave a small nod of appreciation, realizing how much more beautiful the world seemed when shared with his family.
Before they could talk more about the view, the attendant’s voice came over the speaker. "We will be landing in 10 minutes. Please fasten your seatbelts and prepare for landing. Thank you for your cooperation."
Mira’s smile deepened as she looked at Zamian and then at Little Zami. The moment they had been waiting for was finally close. They would soon land, and Mira would finally get to see Zamian’s kingdom—everything they had dreamed of was just ahead.
