When had he ever gotten up so early before? If it weren’t for wanting to give Ye Yuning a warning about last night’s incident, he would have been at the company already. Why else would so many people be calling him? It was just going to work, but now it felt like being sent to the gallows.

"Boss, are you alright? How come there’s so much blood? Where did you get hurt?"

Chen Wei’s voice was tinged with nervousness and trembling.

Ye Yuning’s expression was grim. "Don’t mention it. Bring the first-aid kit."

She’d had the bad luck to encounter two blasted nuisances this morning.

Chen Wei immediately helped her to sit at the nearest spot and then hurried to fetch the first-aid kit to clean her wound. Seeing the large scrape on her knee, Chen Wei winced just looking at it. As she cleaned the wound, she couldn’t help but be gentler, carefully tending to it.

"How did you get hurt like this? Were you riding a bike today?"

Ye Yuning gave a noncommittal grunt.

Chen Wei advised, "You really shouldn’t ride bikes anymore. Those bikes aren’t safe; some have faulty brakes."

Having fallen off those rental bikes twice already, she’d become quite wary after those experiences.

Ye Yuning seemed to be ignoring what Chen Wei said. She grumbled in frustration, "I’m never going to work with the Xiao Group again."

"What did the Xiao Group do to you now?" A fall was just a fall; why take it out on the Xiao Group?

Ye Yuning exclaimed, "It was Lai Shuo who hit me!"

Chen Wei gasped, "What?"

Lai Shuo? No way! Were the Xiao Group’s people really this despicable, practically lawless?!

Ye Yuning declared, "In any case, I’m not going to work with the Xiao Group ever again."

Chen Wei mused, "They are the leading enterprise in Upper City; how can they be so petty? Did he do it on purpose?"

She didn’t know if it was intentional or not. Regardless, now, just the mention of the Xiao Group made her blood boil.

"Fine, we’ll never work with them again." Seeing Ye Yuning struggling to speak from anger, Chen Wei quickly nodded in agreement.

It was Ye Yuning’s studio, after all; if she said they wouldn’t work with someone, then they wouldn’t. Besides, there was no issue of breach of contract penalties at the moment, so they had nothing to worry about.

"HISS, be gentle!" Ye Yuning grimaced.

Truth be told, the fall had been quite hard; she’d been completely unprepared. If Lai Shuo hadn’t made that sarcastic remark afterwards, she wouldn’t have been this angry. She was truly exasperated by his words. That Seventh Master Xiao must be just as despicable. Otherwise, why would he employ such a vile person?

"Leave us."

"Yes!" Luo Xin gave Ye Tong a cold glance and then left.

Ye Tong’s anger flared upon seeing Ye Yuning, and she sneered through clenched teeth, "I didn’t expect you to keep such trouble-making employees."

Ye Yuning understood. Ye Tong was still resentful about having to compensate Luo Xin with over 20,000 in medical expenses previously.
