If she had to compare the twenty-six-year-old Xiao Shuo with the thirty-year-old Xiao Linye—one still relying on his parents while frequenting nightclubs, the other already having achieved modest success in Upper City through his own efforts—Ye Yuning had a sudden realization. "This isn’t a problem."

She didn’t mention Ye Shilong or Zheng Cai, nor did she reveal the true circumstances regarding herself and Ye Tong. She simply explained the Ye Family’s situation, including her reasons for marrying him at the time.

"Since they didn’t raise you, why are you still so deeply involved with them now?" Xiao Linye asked.

"It’s not that I’m deeply involved," she replied. "It’s just that we’ve recently had a falling out, and some things are still unresolved. I’m the type who likes to get things straight!" For instance, the Ye Family’s villa, the shares of Ye Corporation, and the things Ye Tong took some time ago. Xiao Shuo, of course, is excluded; that nauseating thing was finally discarded, and I’d better not pick it up again!

She wanted to say more, but then she glanced at her phone—it was already 8:40 AM!

She quickly shook her head. "Let’s not talk about this now; we can discuss it more when we have time. I have to rush to work. Aren’t you in a hurry today?"

"Mm, I had a social engagement last night, so I can skip the office this morning," Xiao Linye replied. "Will you be back for lunch?"

Actually, she was just being lazy and didn’t want the hassle of commuting back and forth.

"Directly to the company!" Xiao Linye commanded, his voice firm.

"Understood."

After hanging up, an even deeper gloom settled in Xiao Linye’s eyes.
