Chapter 207: Adorable Parasite

Marcella held Tony’s hand and led him inside the doctor’s office. She was not stressed seeing Tony’s face. He was wind up with stress and both of them couldn’t be stressed. She needed to comfort him.

Seeing his tense side profile, her lips curved up. He was someone who could face any loss with grit and courage. He was the most rational person she knew and he rarely leaves way for his heart to rule his mind.

This issue, however, involved her. Therefore, his rationality flew away leaving him a mess.

Love is weird. It makes stupid out of the smartest people.

"It’ll be fine, honey,’’ she whispered in his ear.

’Mrs. Crawford got it, I guess," the doctor smiled widely as he gestured for them to take their seat.

Marcella didn’t have a tiny clue as to what the doctor was saying and she smiled awkwardly. The reason for her happiness was entirely different but the doctor didn’t have to know that.

"What is it?" Tony looked at her and then at the doctor as he didn’t understand why the both of them were smiling.

Is having a parasite something to be happy about?

"Your wife has a parasite residing in her womb, Mr. Crawford," the doctor clarified. "The parasite will get all the nutrients from her blood and grow, altering her physique. When it has grown, it will come out by itself..."

The doctor teased Tony maybe because he enjoyed the bewilderment on his face.

Marcella got it though. She placed her hand on her belly.

I am pregnant!!!

She was on cloud nine and she couldn’t hear anything after that.

"Birdie!" Tony squeezed her hand.

"An adorable parasite..." Marcella smiled and her eyes clouded. "Our legacy."

Tony raised his eyebrows. "Really?" he asked her.

Marcella bowed her head and her teardrops fell on the hand on her belly. Tony held her hand.

"Really?" he asked the doctor.

After that, Marcella didn’t hear a single word that was spoken. She was floating in her happy bubble. Tony was talking to the doctor for a long time and she stared at her husband with an absent brain and a heart filled with bubbling joy.

They opted not to do an ultrasound until twenty weeks; Tony decided that. She was not hearing anything they were saying. She had become partially deaf out of happiness.

The child she was waiting for... is here... in her belly!

"Let’s buy some cake for Joey," she said on the way.

Tony was speaking non-stop with a serious face. He probably was repeating what the doctor said. He nodded. The initial joy on his face she saw at the doctor’s office was now replaced with serious contemplation.

"How did this happen, Tony?" she asked. She still couldn’t believe it.

"You really want to know?" The boyish smirk returned to Tony’s face as she asked a silly question.

"No..." Marcella wetted her lips. "I was... I rode horses, Tony. I ran around the olive groves and I ate whatever I wanted to. I was...busier than ever and we... we did it almost every day. How did it happen?"

Tony smiled and kissed her temple. He knew the answer. She was stress-free. That played a big factor. "I told you; it will happen when it happens."

Marcella couldn’t even get mad at him for telling her ’I told you so’. She was very happy.

"He loves chocolate flavor," she reminded Tony as he got down from the car.

Tony nodded and went inside the bakery. She stayed in the car. She couldn’t stop looking at her belly.

"I’m going to get you a pink crib... I hope you take after my mother... or Cynthia... I hope you have Tony’s eyes and my hair..."

She talked to the baby. She wanted a girl. They have a son already and she wanted a girl to make it even. She didn’t want to get outnumbered.

*Bang* *Bang*

She looked to the side as someone banged at the window of the car. Her skin crawled seeing the shameless piece of excrement. The bald guy gestured for her to roll down the window.

Coach Rourke’s face was red with anger and he was panting as he banged on the car. He looked like he would hurt her if she rolled down the window.

Marcella’s hand instinctively covered her belly. Her heart started to pound and her first instinct was to hide until Tony arrived. She wouldn’t allow a single harm to her baby.

But looking at her belly, a fire sparked in her heart. It could be a motherly instinct.

People like that beast shouldn’t be alive in the world where her daughter arrived.

She opened the glove box and pulled out the gun inside. Seeing her finger on the trigger, Rourke took a step back. Marcella rolled down the window.

Even if she shot him here, she would be justified. He was threatening her and banging their car. He was a credible threat. If she shot him, it would be self-defense.

"You were saying?" she asked pointing the muzzle at him.

"Wha- what are- what are you doing?" Rourke staggered back. "NO... don’t shoot...Please..."

Rourke ran as fast as his stubby legs could carry him without even looking back. Maybe he knew that she wouldn’t be able to claim self-defense if he was running away. Or maybe he was genuinely scared.

"Are you okay, Bambi?"

She looked back to see Randy there. A couple of journalists were with him.

"I’m fine," Marcella said.

It was then she noticed someone with video cameras standing behind the bush.

"We got him on camera, Bambi," Randy said. He looked pretty excited to do this.

Who wouldn’t want to destroy a nonce?

"He was stalking your house for some time. He rushed here to see your car. He waited until your husband left and after making sure you were alone, he tried to intimidate you. You can get him using this," Randy smiled. "You can even get a restraining order against him. You have the proof."

Marcella shook his head. "Leave him be, Randy," she smirked.

"Why?" Randy asked. His excitement had doubled seeing her smirk.

"We are going to bury him, Randy. If I get a restraining order, I won’t be able to see him in court, will I?" she raised her brows.

"I understand, Bambi," Randy bowed his head.

His excitement had dropped a notch when she mentioned "court". He probably was under the impression that she was going to "bury" him the old-fashioned way.

His excitement returned within a second though. Bambi’s endgame might be different from Don’s, but their hearts were the same. They want justice be done. He was glad he was a part of it.
