Flash Marriage: Shrewd Wife, Devious Husband
Chapter 154: His Sunshine

Chapter 154: His Sunshine

"I promise," Marcella said curtly.

If Tony feels that way, she will listen to him. He is his own person and he could hate someone she loved.

That should be her rational thought.

But she was mad. How could he hate someone she loves and forbid her from bringing her friend to their house?

"I will meet her elsewhere," she added in a dry tone that was void of any affection toward him.

She didn’t have to add that sentence. Tony meant the same too even though he didn’t say it aloud. He didn’t say one word about how she should treat her friend. He told her that he didn’t want to see Beth. That meant she could do whatever she wanted.

Rather than telling him that she was not happy that he didn’t like her friend, she went back to her passive aggressiveness.

Tony took in a deep breath. He said nothing.

"What? You have nothing more to say?" She tried to provoke him as she was triggered by his silence. "Should I get a list?"

"List?" Tony asked. He sounded calmer than usual.

"List of people I can bring to our house; list for you to sign and approve," she said. Without knowing, her tone went dry and her pitch got higher. Tony tried to hold her hand and she avoided him.

Turning her face to the window, she went silent.

Tony let out a deep sigh. He didn’t know what he did wrong. He told her his preference. He did so, considering her wellbeing. What was she even mad about?

He did not like her tone. He almost used that same tone on her seeing her turning her face away from him. But thankfully, he gained his composure. He didn’t want to lose to his emotions when she made him happy just some time ago. He did the best thing he could do at that time—being silent.

He was silent but he didn’t stop thinking. In the twenty minutes ride back home—twenty minutes she was silent—he tried to figure out why she was mad.

He too was emotional and he couldn’t figure it out. The more he tried to think, the angrier he got.

Wait... does she not care that another woman wants her husband? Does she still want to be friends with her? No, she didn’t even realize that. Wait... she’s not even a little jealous and lets another woman who everyone considers to be beautiful near him!

Why?

No... Why am I even thinking this way?

Tony chided himself. He knew why she was not getting jealous—she loved him and trusted him that much!

But she does not trust him enough to listen to him...

What else can he do? If she wanted to get hurt by that woman, she can do that. Why should he care?

He parked the car in front of the house. She didn’t even wait for him to open the door and stormed out. Tony slammed his door shut. But then he saw the shimmering new car. He remembered the smile on her face when she showed him the car. She got him the best of the best cars. Men are going to look at this car with envy. His wife gave him the best when he~

"Oh, sh*t!"

He chased behind her. He caught her hanging her coat in the foyer. She looked at him and knowing that he wanted to say something, purposefully stomped inside the house. He took a peek and the staff were there. He hung his coat silently and got inside. She went to the kitchen. He waited for her to come out but she didn’t come out for a long time. She was gone for more than two minutes.

"Birdie! Get the bath ready for me!" he shouted for everyone in the house to hear.

He didn’t have to wait for long. His wife who loved to serve him stomped her way out of the kitchen with a wine glass in hand and walked up the stairs. He followed her closely behind.

Just as she entered the bathroom, she stopped, turned, and glared at him. Tony stopped with his hands up. His wife’s angry stare still makes him scared. She had her father’s glare.

"I set the right temperature. You can turn off the water," she said as she walked out. Her lips were glistening red because of the wine. Her eyes dripped anger, and had a certain allure that made his blood flow pause for a second.

Tony followed her with his eyes. Her hips swayed more than usual as she was angry. He loved to watch her hips sway as she walked. She was a treat when she walked in heels. She walked like a glamorous star while taking little sips of wine. His abdomen tightened.

She walked out of the bedroom to the stairs. Standing by the bedroom door, he shouted, "Who will scrub my back if you leave?"

He thought she would throw the glass at him. He was even prepared to duck when she turned. But she stopped by the stairs and turned slower than he anticipated.

"I’ll check on Joey first," she said.

She was not loud but he heard her loud and clear. Her eyes and the beautiful smile that had a mixture of affection and bashfulness were a dead giveaway. She was not mad at him anymore.

In a split second, the confusion in his mind went away. He was a sunflower that thrived in the sunlight; her smile was his sunshine. If she were happy, he would be exhilarated. He didn’t think that would change anytime soon.

"I’ll be waiting, Sunshine," Tony sent a flying kiss to her.

Marcella rushed down the stairs to leave the glass and asked the staff not to disturb them for the night. She was mad at him for some time but she heard him shout; seeing the goofy smile on his face, her anger went away. She even forgot why she was mad at him.

Also, she wanted to spend the night with him. She was preparing herself the whole day imagining situations of how it would happen. When such an offer lands in her lap, why should she refuse?

He was her husband and she loved him.
