Chapter 144: The Surprise Ride

Marcella took a step back seeing the shiny new blue car screeching to a halt in front of her. She didn’t know where he got that car from. This was the first time she saw him driving and he looked so cool.

"Tony!" she walked to him. Her voice got high pitched out of excitement. She was more excited about the handsome driver of the car than by the car itself. Tony’s smile was so intoxicating.

"How do you like it?" he asked, rolling down the window.

"The car?" she asked.

"Yeah!" he grinned. "Isn’t blue your favorite color?"

Marcella raised her brows. "Tony, did you buy a car?" she asked. "Oh my God! It’s a Cadillac!"

She was astonished.

"Are you kidding me, Tony?" she jumped in glee.

Tony got Joey from her hand fearing she might drop him. "Look at your mother... So excited..." Tony kissed the little boy’s cheek. His smile reduced a little seeing her wearing just a dress and no jacket over. "You’re dressed warmly. But she... is beautiful...Wow!"

He couldn’t even get angry at her. She did her hair beautifully and the red dress was so pretty on her. It’s not the dress or the makeup. She would look adorable even in a burlap sack. He was touched with her. Just because he asked her to meet him, she had dolled up.

She dolled up for him!

"Get in," he cocked his head.

"You’re taking me on a ride?" Marcella was so excited. It had been a while since she travelled in a car she owned. The last time she owned a car was when she was living back home. It was her father’s car, but still, it was hers too. Having lived in the city after that, she didn’t find the need to get a car; she didn’t have a license either. She didn’t think Tony owned a car before. He had never mentioned it.

Her husband owns a car now! It’s Tony’s first car! It is to be celebrated!

She rushed to the passenger side and got in. She rubbed her hands together to warm up. She was too excited. It has been a while since she rode shotgun. Tony with a smirk turned up the heating in the car. Marcella couldn’t help but giggle.

"It’s amazing! And it’s brand new!" She looked at the dashboard. Everything looked shiny and she felt giddy with the scent of new car.

It has been a while!

Tony handed her the baby and she hugged him close. She couldn’t stop smiling as Tony drove through the road. Within five minutes of being inside the car, Joey fell asleep.

"Will you please watch the road?" she turned his head to face the road. Rather than watching the road, he found it more pleasurable to watch her face. It can’t be good.

"Where are we going?" she asked as they left the city.

"Just..." Tony shrugged.

Tony couldn’t stop smiling. His pretty wife was beside him and she was beaming. What more would he want?

He expected her to be happy but he didn’t think she would get this excited about it. It was not her first car ride. Her father used to buy a new car each year—the latest models. They even had a Rolls-Royce once.

He knew that more than about the car, she was excited more for him. It was apparent when she gently rubbed his thigh. She was happy for him. She was happy to see him getting successful.

Can he ask for anything more? He hit the jackpot with her.

He wondered what she will think of the surprise he had planned.

He had been saving to buy a car for some time. After all, once they move to Olive Groove, they will need a car. The main surprise is that he bought this car for her. She will need a car to drive around. His wife cannot drive an ordinary car. That was the reason he spent a lot on this car. He can get a second-hand car for himself later.

"So, what do you think?" he asked parking the car by the side of the road.

"Perfect! It glides like a ship!" Marcella did a little jump while sitting. Joey was out like a log. "You deserve this awesome car!"

Her husband is a powerful guy. It was about time he got himself a car. People should notice him and recognize him. He should get more popular. She wanted a lot for him.

Tony smiled seeing her excitant.

"But, Tony..." she held his hand. "How did you pay? Should we pay the bank?" she asked.

Tony chuckled. Of course, he didn’t marry a vain woman. She cares about their financial status too. Maybe he should disclose his financial details to her and let her handle all the accounts. Yeah, he should have done that earlier!

Tony realized he didn’t think about that yet. Till now, he gave her money to spend and she maintained the accounts for the expenses. He never checked the accounts and she never asked him his financial status. He never thought about talking to her about it.

It’s about damn time to leave everything to her!

His heart bubbled with love for her.

Marcella couldn’t guess what he was thinking as he went silent. "Tony, you don’t have to owe the bank. I’ll pay it off. I have a lot of money," she held his hand.

She didn’t know whether Tony would accept her help or not. She truly wanted to help him. They had no need to be in debt to anyone.

Tony was touched. He was not surprised she said that but still he was moved by her words.

"No, Birdie... I’ve saved for this..." he leaned for a kiss. Meeting her caramel eyes that were filled to the brim with care for him, he was overjoyed.

How much she loves me!

He didn’t know how he could express it to her.

"Oh, I want to..." He clenched his jaws and pulled her closer by holding her dress. "Shall we christen the car, Birdie?" he winked and looked around. "The road’s empty. There isn’t any traffic~"

"Joey is here!" Marcella covered his mouth with her hand.

Look at this perverted man! What if someone takes a peek?

She went red to the tip of her ears thinking of that. She wanted to scream her embarrassment out!

Tony grabbed her hand. "Let’s throw him in the back," he said without missing a beat.

"In the back?" Marcella’s heart started pounding as she recalled how they "christened" his office. He looked serious. If she even wavers a bit, she will be ploughed off her knickers by this insatiable beast. "No way!"

"Then let us go back. It would be more comfortable," he grinned.

Marcella’s heart shook seeing the glimmer in his eyes.

He is very serious!
