Flash Marriage: Shrewd Wife, Devious Husband
Chapter 122: He Knew Who he Married

Chapter 122: He Knew Who he Married

"Is he a friend of yours?" Marcella asked.

Would it be better or worse if Tony had a good relationship with that man, she couldn’t say.

If he was friends with him, she would question Tony’s intentions. But then again, can she blame him? There are a lot of men like Andrew Mellon out there and most of them aren’t even rich. They are just bad men. She would understand if Tony was just friends with him for his connections. If she expects him to be friends with only good men, he wouldn’t have many allies.

But what she did might cause trouble in the relationship. Tony might not mind it, or he might.

Well, he wouldn’t. It’s Tony, right?

Anyway, if Tony is friends with him, there is a chance that this issue will be resolved rather easily. Otherwise, they might be in serious trouble. That guy looked like he would make this a big issue.

She regretted losing her patience. She would hate it if Tony had to apologize to such a lowly man.

"No!" Tony furrowed his brows and patted all over her. He held her hand and checked it. "What’s this scratch on your palm? Birdie, what happened?"

In just a flash, Marcella felt the coldness emanating from him. The calmness around him was sucked into a vacuum and she felt cold with the murderous aura around him.

"I must have hurt my hand when I hit him with this... mask Louis had in his office," she said the truth without lingering.

Tony sighed.

"It was..." she rubbed her forehead. "He was bleeding a lot...His scalp opened probably...I...I didn’t want to involve Louis Fletcher and told him my name and I also..."

Marcella stopped talking as Tony walked to the door.

Is he mad?

Marcella walked to the window. She knew she had caused him trouble and she replayed what happened there to think whether she could have handled it differently.

"Stella! Get the first aid kit, please," Tony asked stepping out of his office.

Marcella saw him walking to Stella to get the first aid box. She heard Stella inquiring about her injury. Tony told her that it was nothing and returned to his office.

"Come, sit," Tony pointed at his chair.

It was not a big wound. In fact, she didn’t even realize she had a cut until he mentioned it. It would heal on its own. It didn’t need any treatment. She didn’t want to tell him that. She didn’t dare to look at his face in fear of seeing his angry face. Saying nothing, she did what he asked of her.

Tony knelt in front of her. He held her hand and gently cleaned the cut. He then blew on the cut. "You don’t have to cover it," he said.

Marcella could see that he was not angry.

"What did he do?" he asked. "Louis was with you, so..."

"He knew I was married and still he looked at me like a... He made me uncomfortable. I hit him when he approached me in an intimidating way," she told him the truth.

"Ah..." Tony pressed her hand to his forehead and let out a deep breath. "You did good, Birdie." He kissed her.

"I did?" Marcella looked at him confused.

Tony nodded.

"Wouldn’t it cause you trouble?" she asked.

"It might," Tony stood up and sat on the table.

"I’m sorry I act before I think. I didn’t know who he was at first~"

"What would you’ve done if you knew who he was?" Tony asked.

Marcella thought about I for a moment. Just by looking at that guy, she knew that he might be someone from an influential family. She didn’t think before she acted and so, it wouldn’t have mattered whether she knew who he was or not.

"I would have done the same," she bowed her head.

She told him that she would be his support and she only caused him more obstacles. She ruins his peace of mind by causing him problems.

Tony chuckled. "You give me peace, Birdie... I love you so much."

"What?" she looked at him, stunned. "You feel peaceful now?"

"Yes," Tony held her cheeks and pressed his forehead on hers. "Birdie, it’s an awful place... There are men who have to turn a blind eye when their wives are getting disrespected by the likes of Andrew Mellon, but I am not one of them. I am happy I married a woman with a strong heart who would defend her honor and her husband’s."

Marcella looked at him. He did look happy.

"How will you deal with Andrew Mellon now? I offered him money for his treatment and he was pretty mad about it. He will try to get back at me and at you because you are married to me..."

Tony laughed. "Andrew Mellon is nothing. I can take him down with a single punch! Also, his family knows about his behavior toward women. The patriarch is not very fond of him. Bernard is religious and he considers his grandson a spawn of Satan. And more importantly, they would want to let this get buried. They wouldn’t want everyone to know that a member of the Mellon family was hit bloody by a woman," Tony smirked.

"Ah..." Marcella was awed. She didn’t think about it in this angle. "But he might try to get back at you..." she pouted.

Tony bopped her nose. "You might not think much before you act when you are offended, but I do," he smiled. "I know who I married."

Marcella smiled. He is saying that he thinks for both of them. It’s not the first time he’s saying it. He must have a plan for situations like this. And just like that, all the worry she felt went away just like a bright light would drive away the darkness.

He says he knows me...

Marcella bowed her head and fiddled with her fingers. She was exhilarated to know that she has a strong support in her husband. She felt powerful and confident.

Ah, I love him!

"About what you said in the morning..." Tony leaned to her face.

"What?" Marcella looked up.

Only after seeing the playful smile on his face did she remember what happened on the bus. She bowed her head again.
