"I have let it slide that she stole my diamond ring, and I didn’t mean to step on her phone. Besides, I’ve paid her for it."

After thinking it over and over, Victoria decided to leave herself a way out. She suddenly felt a bit scared.

Evelyn Peary frowned. Victoria’s words made it sound as if Evelyn was the one being unreasonable. Others might let it go to keep the peace, but the Peary Clan would never stand for such a thing.

Robert Perez stood trembling with fury, his hand quivering like a sieve.
