Chapter 775: Chapter 762: Club Preparation
Xin Kai had been going through a tough time lately; as the date drew nearer, he still hadn’t gotten his hands on the next episode, and he was anxiously watching Yue Feng’s live stream every day for the latest updates!
Just after having lunch at the office, Xin Kai received a call and, seeing it was from Yue Feng, he didn’t hesitate to answer.
“Yue Feng, Master Yue, Lord Yue, you finally called me! Are you back in the country? How did the filming go? Brother, I’m here waiting for the rice to be added to the pot!”
The first thing Xin Kai did upon connecting was to humbly greet him, even using a title like Lord Yue in his urgency.
“Uh, I’m over here in Yanjiao, got picked up by a good bro right after I landed this morning and we’re having lunch! Where are you? I’ve got the footage ready for you, I’ll send it over in the afternoon, but there’s something else I need to talk to you about in person, when are you available?”
“You’re in Beijing? I’m available right now! Send me the address, and I’ll drive over!” Xin Kai was decisive and promptly agreed.
“Alright, I’ll send you the location via WeChat! Call me when you’re nearby!”
“Okay!”
…
All the while, Yue Feng had his phone on speaker, and Gu Qingtian was no novice; he could glean quite a bit of useful information from the tone of their conversation. Yue Feng wasn’t boasting—their relationship was indeed special.
About an hour and a half later, Yue Feng’s phone rang; Xin Kai had driven over.
Having finished lunch, Yue Feng went out with Gu Qingtian to greet Xin Kai, and then led him to the parlor.
Mixing in the Capital, Xin Kai’s eye for value was spot on. Based on the size of the courtyard alone, he gained a preliminary understanding of Gu Qingtian, and after a brief introduction and explanation, he quickly grasped the intentions of Yue Feng and Gu Qingtian.
Someone was offering reliable domestic and international connections for outdoor fishing and hunting, with plenty of experience and resources along with substantial funding. They wanted to plan a new show for broadcast on mainstream media platforms in the country, which was an opportunity that offered resources to the team. If the profit distribution was right, it could lead to mutual benefits.
After listening to the general idea, Xin Kai secretly rejoiced in his heart.
Ever since he teamed up with Yue Feng, Xin Kai’s status at the TV station had been on the rise. Originally, he managed a channel with average performance and ratings, but after launching a series of Yue Feng’s global fishing videos, there was a significant boost in viewership, along with many tangible benefits for Xin Kai, the responsible party.
Now Yue Feng was introducing a new, high-quality partner, a golden opportunity that was hard to come by even with a lantern. If the project was managed well, there was a chance Xin Kai could climb even higher!
“I understand what you’re saying! There are no issues with the overall direction, but we still need a detailed proposal to show to the higher-ups before I can give you a final response.
Personally, I think there are many of these kinds of challenges abroad. If suitable, we could certainly follow the example and create our own!” Xin Kai replied after hearing the full project briefing.
Gu Qingtian: “Okay, since there are no problems with the big picture, I’ll have someone follow up on the project right away!”
…
The project, which originally required a significant evaluation of resources and cooperative tacit understanding, quickly reached a preliminary intention under Yue Feng’s meddling. After Gu Qingtian and Xin Kai casually mentioned their networking resources in the Capital, Xin Kai even showed considerable importance!
After all, mixing in the Capital is all about the circles and connections. Even if some projects don’t have immediate profitable returns, making friends always opens up opportunities for subsequent cooperation. More interactions naturally benefit future development.
After helping to orchestrate some cooperative efforts, Yue Feng stayed in Beijing for two days before bidding farewell to big brother Gu and catching a flight back to W city.
After several days of recuperation, the injury on Yue Feng’s shoulder had mostly healed. Once back home, he took a few days to rest and recover like a salted fish.
During Yue Feng’s overseas fishing trip, the company’s development was steady as usual. The sports club league project had already been scheduled. Liu Fengnian, besides the daily management of the company, started to organize the fledgling direct club of Yuefeng Fishing Tackle.
Monday, the meeting room on the second floor of Yuefeng Fishing Tackle Company.
Yue Feng usually didn’t attend the Monday routine meetings. He was a hands-off Shopkeeper, involved only in setting the broad direction of operations and some aspects of product technology in the factory. Rarely did Yue Feng partake in the company’s specific business affairs.
But today, he took the seat to Liu Fengnian’s right—the second in command.
In the meeting room, in addition to the leaders of various departments in the company, there were two faces unfamiliar to Yue Feng.
Liu Fengnian silenced his phone and placed it on the table, casually unfolding a document.
After discussing a few minor issues and arranging the tasks for the week, the meeting ended, and most of the people left. Only the two unfamiliar faces sitting in the corner remained, along with Yue Feng and Liu Fengnian.
Liu Fengnian said, “All right, the routine meeting is over, let’s have a small meeting! Let me introduce you. This is Yue Feng, our Chairman, the actual controller of the company!”
On the opposite side is Niu Ben, my newly recruited club general manager! He used to be the general manager of a club in the Zhongsheng team and is very familiar with this business. He will be responsible for the recruitment and routine management of our club’s personnel!”
Next to him is Zhao Ran, a National Second Level Competitive Fishing Master, and could be regarded as a disciple of the Hua Clan! He will take up the position of captain of the club’s team, responsible for training the club members in cooperation with future technical instructors!”
Niu Ben, a scruffy bearded middle-aged man with a square face and a bulbous nose, and slightly flushed complexion as if he had been drinking early in the morning, was lips pursed, face stern, giving off a somewhat difficult to approach vibe.
In contrast, Zhao Ran looked much more handsome, around thirty, with high cheekbones, double eyelids, a cropped cut, and a pleasant face. Sitting upright at about 180 centimeters tall, he cut a very neat figure.
Yue Feng stood up and smiled, “Welcome to the company! I usually don’t manage company affairs, but if you have any reasonable requests in life or work, feel free to reach out to President Liu directly!”
Liu Fengnian said, “Since President Yue is also here, let’s finalize the club recruitment matter. I wonder if old Niu and young Zhao, you have any good suggestions? The club league will start next spring, and we have less than half a year to prepare!”
Niu Ben took a big sip of tea from his cup before speaking, “To form a club team temporarily, there are currently two directions on the market. The first is to offer high salaries to recruit established anglers, and the second, to follow Tianyuan’s method of regular selection and training.”
“With only half a year, logically speaking, direct recruitment would yield better results. But as the news has been out for so long, the capable anglers have basically been snapped up. That road is difficult to take!”
“My idea is to use the company’s sponsorship to scout for young talent! And we need to act quickly; if we delay any longer, other clubs will have started, and we’ll only be left with the rejects.”
