This shark was hauled up through brute force, and it still had strength left after being out of the water. Once the hook was gone and it was free of restraints, it darted towards the ocean floor in an instant, disappearing without a trace in the blink of an eye.

“Holy cow, Captain’s moves are kind of cool!”

“Such a big hook, even with barbs, but just a light shake, and the hook is off. Captain’s performance deserves a hundred points, professional, awesome!”

“Such a big fish, just letting it go feels like a pity. If shark tasted good, that would be great! Could sneak it home and stew a big pot!”

“Are you out of your mind upstairs? Dare to break the law in the United States, and you would be fined to bankruptcy! With the first shark encounter under his belt, Yue Feng felt even more confident about the rest of the competition. He had come across sharks more than once before on fishing trips, and back then, it was such a struggle: soft rods, thin lines, all sorts of slipping, wearing down the strength and taking a long time to haul in the fish.

But today was different. The rod was thick, the line was thick, and with the assistance of the external exoskeleton, that last fish almost didn’t make Yue Feng feel the slightest bit strained, as easy as carrying ten pounds of rice to the second floor, without even breaking a sweat.

After re-baiting, Yue Feng cast his line out again. This time, the drop point was about two meters off from the first cast, closer to the pier.

Massive constructions like cross-sea bridges have scientific processes applied to their underwater sections: the ground is compacted and a settling layer added for reinforcement. Over time, coral growths and other structures form next to the bridge pillars, perfect hiding spots for giant grouper.

Under Yue Feng’s watch, the entire surrounding area was suitable for fishing, blue all over. Yet, who knew if it was due to luck or something else, the second cast took a full five minutes of waiting without a single nibble.

Just then, an Angler close to Yue Feng’s boat hooked a fish!

All one could hear was the whoosh of a rod being raised to spear the fish, followed by that Angler frantically cranking the rod.

“Damn it, someone next door has got a bite again!” Yue Feng provided the camera angle immediately.

On camera, this Caucasian man didn’t have the exaggerated muscles of other strong men, but he was still over six feet tall. His upper body muscles bulged as he gritted his teeth and wrestled with the giant fish underwater.

However, he lasted less than twenty seconds before his strength slowly drained away. Standing by the railing, the fishing rod was pulled down fiercely, nearly causing him to stumble and fall overboard. Fortunately, he was tied with a safety rope, which prevented him from being dragged into the water.

When he steadied himself again, the fishing rod had already been pulled to the edge of the boat. After a tense few seconds, it sprang back up, and the line snapped again!

“Ah, what a pity, giant groupers like that really aren’t something an ordinary person can handle. The line broke and it got away again!” Yue Feng commented with a hint of regret.

“Something’s not quite right, Brother Feng. Two people nearby have encountered giant groupers, why haven’t we got a bite? Could there be something wrong with our fishing spot?”

“I also think we should change our spot. Maybe there are no giant groupers beneath us!”

That possibility existed and was very likely; after all, these creatures weren’t that smart. They take the bait when they see it. In some shallow waters, there are even recreational areas where one can tie a fish to a rope and feed the giant groupers from the boat.

As Yue Feng was hesitating inwardly, the walkie-talkie relayed the referee’s fish report.

“Attention to all competing anglers! We are now announcing that Angler Di Gaobai from Hulk has successfully caught a giant grouper. After unanimous confirmation by the referees, it meets the competition’s size requirements! Current progress 1/3!”

Upon hearing this news, Yue Feng was shocked. Damn, how long has the competition been going on, and that barbaric guy has already landed one!

Yue Feng also reeled in his bait, and a few minutes later, the fishing boat changed location, heading straight forward along the direction of the sea-crossing bridge.

Near almost every pier, there was a boat participating in the competition. In just the few minutes it took to get moving, Yue Feng saw several people hook fish, but no one was able to bring a giant grouper on board. They all ended in chaos, with lines breaking and hooks being lost.

Now, Yue Feng had a clear idea in his mind. There were plenty of giant groupers, but it wasn’t easy to catch them by one person’s strength alone, even for burly Americans.

Being one fish behind for the time being shouldn’t be too big of a problem.

After the boat moved for a while, David quickly spotted a free spot near the bridge pier ahead and steered the vessel there.

As they approached the pier, a boat moved towards them and stopped about thirty meters away.

Looking at the people on the boat, Yue Feng narrowed his eyes.

It was a small world, and the one who came was none other than Di Gaobai, the man who had been rude during check-in!
