Chapter 484 - 484 471 Area A Number 16

484: Chapter 471 Area A Number 16 484: Chapter 471 Area A Number 16 Hearing this, Yue Feng covered his mouth and laughed.

Seeing Yue Feng’s reaction, the kid knew there was inside scoop and couldn’t help but give him a curious look, but it would’ve been better not to; Yue Feng just couldn’t hold it in and burst into laughter.

“Laugh my ass off, is that how you treat your brothers?” Zhao Zheng said, annoyed.

“You’ve even dared to talk back to your future father-in-law, he’s definitely going to give you a hard time at a crucial moment!

I’m not wrong, am I?” Yue Feng said with a wide grin.

Zhao Zheng massaged his cheeks and said in frustration, “You guessed it!

Old Ma knows Tingting and I are dating; he might as well be guarding me like a thief!

This guy arranged quite the lecture for me!

I even thought about asking Tingting to come over and hang out with you, but Old Ma disagreed.

Tingting is now grounded at home, not allowed to go anywhere!!”

“No worries, just do your best in the competition tomorrow, aim to qualify, and take down the Fishing King.

Then, there’ll be no problem when you visit your father-in-law’s place!”

“Dream on, at best my participation is just for good luck!

If you take it seriously, maybe you could actually qualify!”

“I hope your words bring good luck!

But the rules of the Guangwei Fishing King Cup prelims really suck; you can’t even test the rods in advance—it all comes down to individual performance!

Whether you qualify or not, it’s mainly about luck!”

“Stop beating around the bush.

You’ve been the shining star these days, even made it to the trending searches for two days.

Your factory’s new products, they’re good; hook your buddy up with a set to try out first!

And, just so you know, my visit today is pretty much to freeload from the rich!

Let’s get one thing straight though, I didn’t bring any bait for the contest, so I’m relying entirely on you for tomorrow’s competition!”

“No problem, the workshop is going full throttle; I’ll make sure you’re all set, food and gear included!”

“That’s more like it!”

Hosting a friend who had traveled from afar, Yue Feng was quite attentive.

After spending the afternoon having tea and chatting in the shop, he called and booked the evening feast, arranging a round of private home cooking!

Let’s leave the meal and drinks aside; the gathering didn’t end until after nine o’clock at night.

He checked Zhao Zheng into a hotel, agreeing to meet up at five in the morning to head to the competition venue.

The next morning at four o’clock, Yue Feng got up early.

After washing up, he did a final check of the equipment already neatly placed in his car, and once sure everything was correct, set off to meet the kid and Zhao Zheng, driving straight to the destination.

The venue used for the preliminaries of the Guangwei Fishing King Cup wasn’t the familiar Competition Pond at Star Moon Lake, but rather Shenglong Villa, located in a government cultural and sports project in a county-level city under W city.

This place isn’t normally open to the public, and this year was the first time it hosted a fishing competition.

Taking a forty-minute drive from downtown, they sped along with the navigation, and at five-thirty, they successfully arrived at the venue.

Shenglong Villa was quite impressively arranged, with two standard pits that could accommodate eighty competitors neat and tidy.

The completely hardened ground was paved with decorative tiles, and the edges of the pits were uniformly lined with marble, a standard far better than the concrete pits of Star Moon Lake.

Driving into the villa’s main gate, there were staff members guiding them along the way.

After parking the car, Yue Feng and Zhao Zheng casually headed to sign in.

The qualifiers were not a significant challenge: one round in the morning, one in the afternoon, with draws to decide the contest specifics.

The rules were quite simple: one round for mixed fish, one for specific species.

Whatever you draw, you compete in first; the other round is for whatever wasn’t drawn.

After signing in at the registration desk, Yue Feng and Zhao Zheng unloaded their equipment from the car.

The kid obediently followed behind carrying things.

The little girl was dressed quite conservatively today; Yue Feng found her suitable sunscreen clothing—a face towel, hat, and jeans—wrapping her up tight, fully armed to the teeth.

“Big Brother Feng, should we go find the organization or something?” Zhao Zheng asked Yue Feng outside the competition area.

“Haven’t seen them, have you?

Have the Hua Clan’s team members arrived?

Where are they?” Yue Feng took another look around.

“Here, at the southeast corner.

No one else saw it but, as my father-in-law, you should definitely recognize!” Zhao Zheng pointed and said.

“Since we’re here, let’s greet them!

I’ll order another table of takeout at noon to entertain them as a good host would!”

“Sure, let’s do that!”

Having made up their minds, Yue Feng and Zhao Zheng casually made their way toward where Lao Ma and the others were gathered.

Hua School had brought more than ten team members this time, with almost all the club’s students present; Lao Ma had also signed up.

It’s hard to hit a smiling face.

Although there were some minor frictions at Hua School, now that they had graduated, Lao Ma was quite accommodating when the students took the initiative to greet him.

After asking a few questions and chatting idly for a while, they each went to their own preparations.

According to the competition rules, there were two ponds, one for target fish and one mixed-breed.

Before the draw, the competitors did not know what they would be fishing for in the first round.

So when Yue Feng started preparing the bait, he made sure to take a dual insurance approach—a large basin of Lure for silver carp and a large basin of Loose Powder for carp, plus Hand Food, making sure to prepare ample amounts for both people.

At exactly seven o’clock, all competitors assembled, and the relevant leaders gave opening speeches for the competition!

The second step was for a representative athlete to speak on the stage.

Today’s athlete representative was someone Yue Feng knew, the team captain of the Hua Club, Han Luofeng!

After reciting the oath by the book, the Referee announced the official start of the competition, and all competitors, according to their registration order, began drawing lots.

Hearing that the draw was to be in registration order, Yue Feng felt his heart sink halfway.

If nothing unusual happened, his team would most likely be at the bottom of the list!

But when they called his name, Yue Feng was somewhat surprised.

Yue Feng’s name was called rather early on in the list of 160 competitors; it wasn’t more than thirty or so people before they called him!

He couldn’t understand why, but Yue Feng didn’t dwell on it and naturally responded, walking up to the drawing box.

Concerned about the competition results, Yue Feng’s thoughts flickered, and he activated the good luck Skill on his Badge, grabbing a rolled-up lot from the box.

Area A (target fish), number 16!

Seeing this result, Yue Feng felt a bit downhearted.

This spot didn’t look great at first glance!

Area A was the silver carp pit, and position 16 was slightly towards the middle on the south shore, but it wasn’t exactly central.

It was neither near the oxygen machine nor a prime edge spot, and he couldn’t figure out what it meant to draw this position even with luck on his side.

“Feng, what’s your number?

I got 61 in Area B!” After a while, Zhao Zheng also finished drawing his lot.

“61 is good, it should be a central spot on the North Shore!

I drew 16 in Area A (target fish).

It’s an average position, not good, but not bad either!”

“That’s perfect then, we have a basin of bait each, nothing gets in the way!”

“The weather’s a bit hot; if the bait isn’t quite appealing enough, you could try adding some of that Carp Attractant from the set I gave you!”

“Alright!”

After giving a bunch of advice to Zhao Zheng, Yue Feng took out his rods, and as always before entering the venue, there was the old rule: check the rods.

Only those with a pass sticker could enter.

In about fifteen minutes or so, the drawing was all done, and the Referee called out, instructing them to check the rods and enter the venue in order of their seat numbers!
