Chapter 418 - 418 407 Preparing for War Initiative
418: Chapter 407: Preparing for War Initiative 418: Chapter 407: Preparing for War Initiative Until now, Old Ma thought the trainee courting his daughter was none other than Yue Feng.
Although he had never met him in person, he had seen him once at the cafeteria and, jumping to conclusions, Yue Feng was solidly saddled with the blame by Old Ma for Zhao Zheng.
In the evening, Old Ma had prepared a table full of dishes and called Tingting again, only to be hung up on even more directly this time; she didn’t even pick up the call.
That truly infuriated Old Ma, who frowned in thought for a long time before begrudgingly dialing his apprentice Xiao Hai.
Xiao Hai hadn’t been an apprentice for very long, but the guy was sharp and knew how to handle things.
After the old man gave him a few instructions, Xiao Hai agreed repeatedly.
…
The next day at around 12:20 PM, a water tanker truck full of live fish entered the gates of the Hua Clan’s factory.
Zhao Zheng, already familiar with the security at the factory’s gate after many visits, got a phone call and signaled to Yue Feng.
“Let’s go, the fish are here!”
The two of them went around the dorms, calling out to others, and soon a group of more than ten fellow trainees eagerly followed them.
After spending some time together, Yue Feng had already established a preliminary authority among this group, and they majestically headed straight to the mixed breeding second pit of the factory area.
By the time Yue Feng and his group arrived, the aquaculture truck was in the middle of discharging water.
Yue Feng took a glance; this was no small truck.
The modified water bladders were four in number, and judging by eye, each could hold about two thousand pounds without issue.
“Hey, Master!
How many fish we got today?” Zhao Zheng pulled out a cigarette and handed one to the driver, a soft pack of Zhonghua.
With such a gesture, the truck driver opened up.
“Four bladders, over seven thousand six hundred pounds!
Old Yang had ordered them from someone he trusts!”
“May I ask about their sizes?” Zhao Zheng continued to inquire.
“Four thousand pounds of Carp ‘twists,’ from three to four taels up to a pound in size!
Around two thousand pounds of young Carps, around two to three pounds each!
Five hundred pounds of Silver Crucian Carp, single ones weighing between one and two taels!
And a thousand pounds of big Grass Carp and Carp!”
Fearing Zhao Zheng might not believe him, the truck driver directly took out the loading and scale receipts from his chest pocket, showing item by item for Yue Feng and Zhao Zheng to see.
Zhao Zheng’s eyes lit up after hearing the numbers, that was a lot—more than he’d expected; he thought it might be five thousand pounds at most, but this was half again as much as anticipated.
“That density is solid!”
The truck driver blew a ring of smoke and said, “For such a large pond, putting this many fish in surely means the density is not low!
When I usually deliver to regular Black Pit customers, managing to put in one or two thousand pounds is considered good!
If you start angling with these, it’ll definitely be satisfying!”
“Are we about done discharging the water?
Should we release the fish using a slide or go through the big basket process?
We’ve got quite a crowd here, should we wait for our instructor to come over?” Zhao Zheng asked further.
The truck driver shook his head, “No need, we’ve trusted each other for decades!
You can count on me!
Just use the slide to release the fish.”
“Then we’ll help you out!”
Soon after finishing his cigarette, the truck driver casually climbed on top of the water bladders, pulled out a white iron-made slide, attached it securely in place, opened the outlet hose beneath the fish hold, and countless fish mixed with water slid down from the cabin into the pond.
The first bladder contained the highest number of Carp ‘twists,’ which at just over half a pound each, swarmed into the water like dumplings, forming a dense black patch.
Once in the water, they disappeared from the surface, darting to the far side, frantically gulping for air and thrashing about.
Following the same method, the remaining fish holds were emptied in less than twenty minutes.
It might sound a bit exaggerated, but after they stocked the fish, the water level in pond number two had actually risen a fair bit.
Only after the fish had been stocked did Han Luofeng and his team members arrive leisurely in several cars.
Seeing the wet ground and the crowd of onlookers, Han Luofeng frowned slightly.
“Damn!
We’re late!!” Han Luofeng slapped the steering wheel.
Glancing over at Yue Feng in the crowd from inside the car, Han Luofeng opened the door and strode over to the driver.
“Master Wei, have all the fish been stocked?” Han Luofeng greeted the driver as he approached.
“Yes, young Han, we’ve just finished stocking them.
These lads helped out!” Driver Master Wei, who knew Han Luofeng, greeted him with a smile.
Han Luofeng’s gaze swept over the crowd, lingering on Yue Feng for a moment, but he did not greet him, “How’s the quality?”
“No problem!
With this quality, I reckon you could get a bite as soon as you put a rod in now!” Master Wei replied.
“Thank you for your hard work!”
“No worries, it’s all part of the job!”
Seeing Han Luofeng exchanging greetings and cigarettes with the driver, Yue Feng shot Zhao Zheng a look to signal.
The fish had been checked, and it was time to head back to the dorm to sleep.
On the way back, Zhao Zheng’s expression was not very pleased.
Han Luofeng was really too dismissive.
Just now Yue Feng had smiled at him in a friendly manner, but that guy didn’t even bother to greet him.
“Damn, Han Luofeng’s arrogance really lives up to his reputation.
A defeated general, but still so full of himself!” Zhao Zheng couldn’t help but grumble.
Yue Feng said indifferently, “We weren’t close to begin with, what do you care about them for!
I guess he was just called over, but I didn’t expect that we’d finish stocking the fish much faster than anticipated.
He missed it because he was late, and now he’s got to be stewing about it!”
“No way, this afternoon I’ve got to get our class together no matter what!
Did you see the way they looked at us just now?
Like college students looking at kindergartners, not taking us seriously at all!
We’ll get organized and teach them a good lesson!”
Yue Feng cracked a smile, “Then let’s get organized this afternoon!
If necessary, I’ll step in!
We’ll pick out the more skilled brothers from among our students, get the bait sorted, and surprise them!”
When it came to Fishing Skill and technique, the ordinary students were definitely no match for those professional anglers; there was no doubt about that.
But Yue Feng was quite confident in the single aspect of the bait.
For standard medicines and such, Yue Feng had a Skill boost that made him very precise in their use.
Plus, with heavy-hitters like Musk Herbal Wine at his disposal, Yue Feng ensured, at the very least, that there would be no weak links in the bait department.
“Alright, we’ll do as you suggested!
This afternoon we’ll take care of this!”
…
After sleeping through the afternoon in the dorm, Yue Feng woke up revitalized and clear-headed.
However, Zhao Zheng, from the moment he got back, hadn’t slept a wink.
He had initiated the preparation for a friendship match in the class group of the 30th term, receiving unanimous support from all the students.
When the afternoon training session wrapped up, seven or eight guys whom Zhao Zheng had previously coordinated with gathered around.
Among these people were Yue Feng, Zhao Zheng, Qin Hu, Guan Ping’an, Shaoyang, as well as Qian Jin, Fu Wenshu, and Ma Tingting, basically representing the highest level of fishing skill among the students of the 30th term.
The only ones missing were Chen Chen and Zhao Zhe.
Due to not getting along with Yue Feng, these two had feigned ignorance and hadn’t signed up.
The purpose of this afternoon’s meeting was quite straightforward; it was mainly to discuss the situation with the fish and then to set a preliminary plan for the competitive fishing.
As the class leader and one of the initiators, Yue Feng naturally took on the role of technical advisor, sharing his judgment on the fish with his teammates and making a point of reminding everyone to prepare for the match.
The next morning, Yue Feng got up bright and early.
The friendship match was officially starting today.
