Chapter 362 - 362 351 No Gathering Without A Fateful Meeting
362: Chapter 351: No Gathering Without A Fateful Meeting 362: Chapter 351: No Gathering Without A Fateful Meeting Yue Feng tossed and turned in his new room last night, unable to sleep until the middle of the night when he finally dozed off hazily.
He had nothing to do in the morning, so he didn’t set an alarm.
Glancing at the time, it was only seven o’clock.
Who would come this early?
Yue Feng rolled out of bed, put on his clothes, and with a swish of his slippers, peeked outside the dorm door.
He didn’t see Xiaoke but noticed a guy with a large backpack and a suitcase walking past room 206.
After staring at the figure for a while, Yue Feng felt the person looked familiar and tentatively called out, “Zhao Zheng?”
The guy walking ahead stopped when he heard something and turned his head towards Yue Feng.
It was none other than Zhao Zheng.
“Wow, you got here early, huh?
Did you arrive yesterday?” Zhao Zheng said, taking a quick look and striding towards Yue Feng.
“Yeah, I got here yesterday afternoon.
Did you also sign up for the training camp?” Yue Feng asked curiously.
Zhao Zheng glanced into the room and saw only Yue Feng’s bedding, so he pushed his suitcase and entered.
“A few days ago, after hearing you talk during the live stream, I was tempted, asked a friend to help, and here I am!
It’s just you in this dorm, right?
Then I’ll stay with you!”
Zhao Zheng didn’t even wait for Yue Feng to respond and skillfully placed his luggage on the second tier of another empty bed.
“That’s great!
Why are you here so early?
Have you gone to the first floor of the Little White Building to report yet?
And have you picked up the bedding and daily necessities from the logistics office yet?” Yue Feng asked adeptly.
Zhao Zheng shook his head, “The original plan was to leave early this morning and arrive around noon, but I couldn’t sleep last night, so I gritted my teeth and drove here myself!
The office here hasn’t opened yet, I haven’t done any paperwork.
I asked someone on the road, and just decided to sort out the dormitory issue first!”
“The paperwork is easy to handle!
Have you eaten breakfast?
Let’s eat first, and then I’ll help you with the paperwork!”
There was no need for Zhao Zheng to answer that question as his stomach started growling loudly.
He had driven over 400 kilometers from Dongyang City to Linyi City alone, more than five hours’ drive, with nothing but a few Red Bulls in his stomach.
Yue Feng looked at him, his lips curling up, “Leave your stuff, I’ll wash my face, and then let’s go eat!”
With that, Yue Feng turned and went into the washroom.
Three minutes later, after washing up and brushing his teeth, he sped off to the small cafeteria with Zhao Zheng.
The breakfast in the small cafeteria was simple: various pickles, fried dough sticks, steamed buns, soy milk, tofu pudding, etc.
Yue Feng pulled out his meal card and swiped it, buying breakfast for two.
“Not bad, you’ve got it all figured out already, huh?
Have you been here before?” Zhao Zheng couldn’t help but remark.
Yue Feng grinned and shook his head, “First time here.
I came to eat here last night.
The breakfast at the small cafeteria is a bit basic, but the dinner, with all sorts of stir-fried dishes, is ok—pretty much like the university cafeteria.”
Zhao Zheng, starving, didn’t care much and grabbed a bun, biting into it greedily, his mouth stuffed full as he said, “Let’s not talk now, let’s eat first!”
The two men wolfed down their food and finished their meal in less than twenty minutes.
After eating their fill, the two strolled back to the dorm to chat for a while until half-past eight, then Yue Feng took Zhao Zheng to register.
The process Yue Feng had gone through yesterday made today’s tasks especially facile.
Zhao Zheng paid on the first floor and, with the receipt in hand, moved to the second floor.
Xiaoke then led him back to the dorm to retrieve bedding and a full set of living supplies from the storage.
By the time they finished setting up the bed, it was already past ten in the morning.
Zhao Zheng lay sprawled out on his bed, too lazy to even lift a finger.
Arriving early for registration was indeed boring.
There wasn’t even a TV in the dorm, but thankfully, his smartphone was there to kill some time.
As time passed, more and more students arrived for registration.
The dorm building quickly became lively.
Every now and then, you could see people carrying their luggage upstairs, and the previously quiet rooms on the north side were gradually occupied as the number of people increased.
Just after two in the afternoon, Xiaoke posted an announcement in the 30th term student group chat of Yue Feng’s cohort.
“All students who have registered, please gather in the shaded area behind the registration building!
Uniform equipment will be issued!”
Seeing the message, Yue Feng called out to Zhao Zheng, “Zhao Zheng, get up, there’s a call to gather in the chat, they’re issuing equipment!”
Zhao Zheng, who had gone to nap after lunch, was startled awake by Yue Feng’s call and groggily rubbed his eyes, “What?”
“We’re gathering to get our equipment; get up and wash your face, we need to go!” Yue Feng repeated.
“Oh!” Zhao Zheng agreed, sluggishly getting out of bed and washing his face in the washroom, finally feeling a bit more awake.
More than ten minutes later, Yue Feng and Zhao Zheng arrived at the designated gathering spot, and more than a dozen students had already arrived early.
Taking advantage of the fact that not everyone had arrived yet, Yue Feng habitually observed the people who had come.
The students this term were mostly in their twenties and thirties, including two obviously greasy middle-aged men.
Surprisingly, there was also a girl who appeared to be quite attractive.
“See that?
There’s a girl!” While Yue Feng was internally marveling, Zhao Zheng nudged him and whispered.
Yue Feng nodded to indicate he had seen her.
“What are we waiting for?
There’s more wolves than sheep; let’s go chat her up!” Zhao Zheng was eager to make his move.
Yue Feng almost laughed at Zhao Zheng’s desperately horndog demeanor, “You go ahead, I’m taken!”
That’s when Zhao Zheng remembered Yue Feng’s girlfriend, Dolly, a beauty that even a seasoned playboy like him couldn’t help but take a few extra glances at.
“Fine, you stay here then; I’m on my way!” Zhao Zheng left with those words and swaggered over to the girl leaning against a tree.
This guy really was something special.
Zhao Zheng must have said something right because, in just a couple of minutes, the girl was already doubled over laughing.
Clearly, Zhao Zheng’s attempt at flirting was initially successful.
A few minutes later, a man in his forties, along with Xiaoke, walked over.
“Everyone, attention please, line up!” Xiaoke called out, and the students who were just moments ago in small groups promptly and neatly formed three simple ranks.
The middle-aged man, of medium build and wearing half-rimmed glasses, had a square face with distinctive features.
However, a slight flaw was his deeply tanned skin, making it obvious he spent a lot of time outdoors.
He looked a bit stern now, his face impassive and serious!
