Chapter 118 - 118 118 Two Clay Eggs
118: Chapter 118: Two Clay Eggs 118: Chapter 118: Two Clay Eggs On the plane, Doll had guessed with her best friend about many possibilities, like Yue Feng, with his financial resources, possibly picking her up in a small beat-up car, or maybe not showing up at all, sending a driver or someone in a similar role instead.
But just a few steps out of the airport terminal, she saw a sapphire-blue BMW 7 series parked not far away and then there was Yue Feng, descending from the car and striding towards Doll.
Seeing him in person for the first time, Yue Feng’s handsome face, almost unchanged from his live streaming appearances, left Doll stunned for a moment.
Could it be that this guy didn’t use a beauty filter when streaming?
This took the mentally prepared Doll somewhat off guard.
Compared to Doll’s state of disarray, Su Cheng seemed to handle it slightly better, at least maintaining a clear head.
With Su Cheng’s emotional intelligence and experience, she could usually see through most people with just a few glances.
However, as her gaze swept over Yue Feng, she found him somewhat inscrutable.
This tall young man was dressed very ordinarily, wearing the kind of cheap street market clothes that you could get for a hundred or eighty bucks each in a small commodity market or a foreign trade shop.
But Yue Feng radiated a kind, sincere, and supremely confident air from within, which made people feel close to him for no reason, creating a very favorable impression.
This was the “Passive Effect” of Yue Feng’s Humanity’s Radiance taking effect.
People familiar with him would only find him easy to get along with, but to those completely unfamiliar and meeting him for the first time, the effect was exceedingly strong.
“Hello, did the two beauties come from Magic City?” Yue Feng approached them with a smile, not asking for their names, but naturally asking about where they came from.
“Wow, the bad guy in real life is actually this handsome!” Su Cheng could hold it in, but Doll, upon seeing the real Yue Feng, embarrassingly fangirled in public!
Su Cheng felt an urge to facepalm and distance herself from Doll, but seeing Yue Feng’s sunny and warm smile, she held back and subtly pulled at Doll’s clothes from behind.
As for Doll, she couldn’t care less, hastily taking off her mask and pushing her sunglasses to the top of her head, then her first action was to reach out and pinch Yue Feng’s face.
Seeing Doll’s face clearly and confirming no mix-up, Yue Feng didn’t resist in good temper, allowing Doll to pinch his face.
Yue Feng’s facial features were sharp and well-defined, springy to the touch, which made Doll smile radiantly.
Deep down she exclaimed with great delight, she had hit the jackpot coming here!
“Okay, that’s enough, or I’ll have to cry harassment!” Yue Feng’s face still bore a smile, humorously teasing.
Su Cheng couldn’t hold back any longer and gave Doll’s tender flesh on her waist a fierce pinch, which finally snapped Doll out of it.
Doll’s best friend, who was usually very reserved in dealing with people, had gone mad today.
Who ever starts by pinching someone’s face upon their first meeting, although Su Cheng also secretly had a little urge to pinch as well.
A pain at her waist finally calmed Doll down a bit.
She let go of her hand and realized her pale face had turned red.
“Hello, I’m Yue Feng!
Welcome to the Imperial City of D!” After the commotion, Yue Feng very gentlemanly extended his hand.
Doll was still dazed, but Su Cheng, as if guided by some spook, reached out and gently clasped Yue Feng’s hand.
“Hello, I am Doll’s good friend, I’m called Su Cheng, please take good care of me on our first meeting!”
The handshake was very ordinary and formal, but Su Cheng felt her face flushing and heart racing.
This man’s hand was broad and warm, giving her an illusion of being a child again holding her dad’s hand.
After shaking hands with Su Cheng, he then shook hands with Doll.
Doll, perhaps a bit nervous, had a slightly clammy touch, and Yue Feng took the opportunity during the handshake to gently tickle the palm of her hand.
The doll was stunned for a moment, Yue Feng had already let go of his hand.
“Ah, let’s not just stand here, let’s get in the car!
I just got a call from the reservoir side, our other friends have arrived, and they’re just about to start preparing for tonight’s event!”
Yue Feng naturally took over the luggage from the two, then opened the car door and led them to the back seat.
Yue Feng sat in the passenger seat and signaled to the driver that they could leave now.
“Did you guys have lunch?”
Yue Feng wasn’t asking without reason, he had checked their itinerary in the morning, knowing they would be at the airport around lunchtime.
The service on small planes couldn’t match those on major airlines, so maybe they hadn’t had a decent meal.
“Yes!”
“No!”
Su Cheng, not wanting to bother anyone, claimed they had eaten, but the doll openly admitted to Yue Feng that she had only had some yogurt after waking up in the morning and had skipped lunch altogether.
“I guessed you hadn’t eaten!
Here, take this to tide you over!” Yue Feng magically produced two boiled free-range eggs and handed them to the doll in the back seat.
The free-range eggs looked nothing like the ones sold in stores; they weren’t red but a very pale white and smaller in size.
But what really mattered was that the two eggs Yue Feng handed over were still warm, though it was unclear where he had kept them.
This was probably the cheapest gift the doll had ever received, but she was delighted, very loyally sharing one with her best friend before eagerly peeling it.
“I only had some yogurt this morning, and I really couldn’t stomach the airplane food!
These are free-range eggs, right?
They look small but smell great!” the doll said as she awkwardly peeled the shell.
The girl seemed inexperienced with boiled eggs, her manicured fingers turning the eggshell into small fragments.
Yue Feng couldn’t stand it any longer and reached out to take it back.
Yue Feng wrapped the egg in a tissue, rubbed it gently in his palm a few times, then easily peeled off the shell, leaving just a tiny bit at the bottom for easier handling, and handed it back to the doll.
“The eggshell might be tough to peel because they were laid recently.
Su Cheng, do you need help?”
Su Cheng, slightly cleverer than the doll, shook her head and imitated the technique with a tissue, successfully peeling the egg cleanly.
“Big bad guy, are we heading straight to the reservoir now, or somewhere else?” the doll asked curiously while eating.
“To the reservoir, of course!
I’ve prepared a separate tent for you guys, we’re camping there tonight!”
“Great, have you brought your equipment?
We want to learn fishing!” the doll said, fearing the world might not be chaotic enough.
“No problem, if we hurry to the reservoir, we should just catch the afternoon fish peak!”
Su Cheng pulled the doll aside and whispered, “We didn’t bring sunscreen clothing for fishing!
Your outfit will cause problems under the sun!”
