First-Year Internship—And You Went to Site 749 to Contain Monsters?!
Chapter 257: Heaven-Taking, Earth-Manifesting — Si Ming Showdown

......

In all his life, he’d never had descendants.

The He surname was counting on the line his older brother left behind.

He had just taken one look—top to bottom—this was basically a full sweep of the He Family.

There wouldn’t be anyone left.

Before his older brother passed, the He Family elder had made a promise—

he would look after the He Family properly.

Now with all this happening, if he let the 749 people go through today, he wouldn't be able to face his ancestors—or his brother—down below.

With a shift in stance and a clasped fist: “The He Family did wrong and broke the law, you have every right to enforce the law.”

“But I can’t betray my older brother. I may not have sons, but I’m still a man. A promise is a promise.”

“You’ve got your official duties, and I’ve got my personal ones.”

“Let’s settle this through strength. If I stay standing, you’re not taking anyone with you. If I fall, then do as you wish.”

“That way, I can face my ancestors with dignity.”

Li Qianxing smiled: “Then you’re talking to the wrong person.”

“You need to talk to him.”

He glanced over at Lu Ding.

The He elder was a bit surprised.

After all, he was at the Earth Observer Realm. He might have been enjoying life and not participating in fights, but that kind of cultivation was no illusion.

Looking at this young man’s age—frankly, still wet behind the ears.

Even a genius shouldn’t be sent in like this.

Still, the He elder didn’t underestimate Lu Ding: “If you’ve got the skill, then take my life today to make your name.”

Lu Ding rarely heard anyone talk this much.

He wasn’t here today just for the He Family. He also wanted to test his Heaven-Taking, Earth-Manifesting.

Normally, his ambushes and zero-delay openers were all for the sake of killing.

Today was different.

And just for the elder to say he may not have sons, but he’s still a man—

Lu Ding decided, for once, to go by the book.

He took off his coat, and Yan Feifan caught and folded it neatly.

Lu Ding stepped forward.

Hands clasped: “Let’s settle this with skill.”

The old man returned the gesture: “And with life or death.”

The elder channeled his Qi, spreading both arms wide. The He Family manor behind him shattered and split from the force.

As he moved through his hand gestures, forming a sphere in hand—

his spiritual energy surged, and from the ground, a massive green divine avatar slowly raised its head.

Bricks and debris gathered into armor, cladding the divine form.

He was guarding the gate today, so he had to bring out his trump card!

As for the manor—well, it was going to be destroyed anyway, might as well use it!

Little did he know, this played perfectly into Lu Ding’s plan.

Li Qianxing’s eyes were fixed on Lu Ding.

He was just wondering how Lu Ding would respond when—

Lu Ding formed a seal and struck downward.

“Heaven-Taking, Earth-Manifesting!!!!”

Buzz!!!

A thunderous wave exploded, concentric rings of dark red light burst forth.

Dense black smoke surged from every opened aperture on Lu Ding’s body and shot straight into the sky.

In a flash, wind and clouds shifted, dark clouds pressing down, linking with the smoke rising to the heavens.

This spectacle sent chills down the backs of the Luoyao 749 investigators.

Such a terrifying scene—

like a great demon emerging into the world.

“Does 749 have a technique that... that... that...”

“That unfriendly?”

“Yeah... right, does 749 have a technique that unfriendly?”

They struggled for a better word, and in the end, only came up with “unfriendly.”

They had other ideas—but couldn’t say them out loud.

Suddenly someone shouted: “What’s that!!”

In the churning smoke, a fist the size of a small hill punched out.

Thud!!!

So fast and powerful, the punch landed solidly—

the brick helmet on the He elder’s Si Ming avatar’s head was instantly pulverized.

Most of the divine avatar’s face was smashed apart.

The He elder turned pale: “What is this!!?”

He had seen many Si Ming avatars—but none had ever been physical.

This definitely wasn’t a Si Ming avatar.

It had to be some secret technique!!

The elder formed another seal—the divine avatar’s arm formed a swirling green drill of spiritual Qi, spinning rapidly.

The forceful wind dispersed the black smoke,

revealing a corner of what lay inside—

a face nearly identical to Lu Ding’s, but with a far loftier aura.

The green avatar swung its arm, the spinning drill aimed straight ahead.

Lu Ding, now a hundred-meter-tall divine form, raised his hand to take it head-on.

Seeing this, the He elder broke into a smile.

That Green Thunder Drill wasn’t something you could just block. Even a mountain would be blown to rubble.

No matter what kind of secret art it was—

the gap in cultivation—

wasn’t something tricks could bridge.

“Kid, lie down for me!”

Emerald light flashed, arcs of lightning danced.

BOOM!!!

Up in the sky, two divine forms clashed.

Lu Ding raised his hand and crushed the green avatar’s drill with his bare hand.

That high-speed spinning drill—

was forcibly stopped mid-spin.

Seeing this scene shatter every expectation—

the He elder was more shocked than hearing the emperor had died.

He shrieked: “Impossible!! How could this be!!! How could your secret art block an attack from my Si Ming avatar!!?”

Spiritual Qi surged again, the drill’s arcs of lightning intensified, wrapping around Lu Ding’s physical Si Ming.

But it didn’t affect him in the slightest.

“The one who needs to lie down is you.”

Lu Ding raised his dozens-of-meters-long arm, blew away the clouds, and slammed down with a punch—

BANG!!

The green avatar’s arm was instantly broken.

The He elder took heavy internal damage again.

Blood trickled from the corners of his mouth.

He tried to make the avatar counterattack—but Lu Ding dodged effortlessly.

Whether it was strength, speed, defense, or reflexes—

his physical Si Ming far outclassed the He elder.

The Si Ming’s movements looked downright sluggish in Lu Ding’s eyes.

This was the difference between physical and phantom avatars.

Seeing a missed punch leave the back exposed,

Lu Ding raised a clawed hand—the giant divine palm swept through the wind.

Went straight through the back, out the chest.

The green avatar froze, slowly looked down at the massive hand, traced in black, piercing out its chest.

It slowly knelt down.

On the ground, the He elder bled from seven orifices, a gaping hole in his chest, matching the wound on his avatar.

He knelt down, following his avatar’s motion.

Memories of the past flashed through his mind.

Though times had changed, all these years, he had treated what he’d learned in the palace as sacred scripture, his most precious possession.

How many times, in the quiet of night, he’d still lived in the past.

But that past was no more. The mountains had shifted, the rivers changed.

Glancing once more at Lu Ding and the kneeling Si Ming avatar—

the He elder shook his head: “No, no, this isn’t what the master said it would be!!!”

Lu Ding’s towering divine form turned and gave him a glance.

Looking at the kneeling divine form in front of him,

a dark red command talisman slowly emerged on its back.

Only Kill, No Salvation—those four words shone bright.

As Lu Ding reached to pull the talisman—

everyone heard it.

‘Slash!’

In a daze, they saw the divine avatar’s wrathful gaze.

The world dimmed for a moment.

The green divine form’s head fell from its body and crashed to the ground.

Everyone instinctively looked to the He elder—

blood flowed in a great pool...
