Chapter 369: Hurry Up And Wait

I was sitting in the beautiful living room of Li Dai Lu’s mountain retreat, waiting for her to get changed into something more comfortable when suddenly, seven men and a woman appeared in front of me. I jumped at their sudden approach before swearing under my breath.

Was this going to be my new life? People randomly appearing in front of me? If so, they needed to have bells on or something because this just wasn’t fair.

"Firefly?" came the voice of one of the men, startling me out of my thoughts about how to make my bedroom safer from intruders.

Looking up, I gasped, "Bin An Sha!" Launching myself off of the couch and straight into his arms, I breathed a sigh of relief. "You’re here."

"We all are, Little Viper," growled Si Dong, clearly about as impressed with all of this as I was. "Time to get you home."

"Yeah," I sighed, closing my eyes and snuggling deeper into Bin An Sha’s arms. "About that. Li Dai Lu is about to give birth, and I really don’t think that I can leave right now."

"That’s who took you?" growled Rip, and I lifted my head to see him looking around the room, his eyes narrowed. "Li Dai Lu?"

"Well, to be fair, it was one of her men, but they were concerned about her and the baby, and you know how patient’s families get when their loved ones show pain," I explained. I was trying to reason with the guys, but then I realized that I was just offering up an excuse for Li Dai Lu.

The woman popped up from around Bin An Sha’s back, and I tried to resist a little growl of my own. She was young, close to our age, and stunningly beautiful. And she was much too close to my men for my comfort.

"We meet again," she smiled at me, rubbing my back from where I was still buried in Bin An Sha’s arms. I didn’t think that I was going to leave them any time soon... or any of the other men’s arms either.

I was happy and content here and it was greatly reducing my risk for getting caught by myself and taken away.

"Demeter," I said with a small smile as I finally placed her face. I couldn’t remember the other name that she had offered me, but for some reason, Demeter stuck in my head. "You’re here with the guys?"

"Yes," she answered softly with a nod of her head. "My son called me and I hadn’t spoken to him in years. How could I deny his request to help find his wife?"

That was right; she had a son who had been gone for a long time.

Wait? Son?

Bin An Sha cleared his throat. "Firefly, this is my mother," he grunted, tilting his head toward the woman. I just stared at him in shock.

Turning to look at her, I blinked, "You have a really, really good skincare routine."

Okay, so that wasn’t exactly what I wanted to say to my mother in law, and I really, really didn’t want to ask her if she had any sort of surgical work done to look so long, but inquiring minds want to know and all that shit.

"Thanks," smiled Demeter in return. Biting my tongue before I could ask her for advice or anything like that, I snuggled deeper into Bin An Sha’s arms.

I don’t think that I was going to recover any time soon from this latest kidnapping.

"Great," grunted Bai Long Qiang. "Now that we have the girlie bonding over with, can we go home? We left Chang Ming by himself, and I don’t want him to wake up without us in the house."

"You left a three year old by himself?" I demanded, practically flinging myself away from Bin An Sha. "Shit, what should I do?"

"Girlie bonding is over when I say it is over," snapped Demeter, cuffing Bai Long Qiang upside the head. The man looked both shocked and a bit confused as he stood there, rubbing the spot that she had hit. "And that is my daughter in law, you will think before you speak."

Huh, I didn’t see that coming. It was nice to have an overprotective mother in law. I had heard such horror stories that I was more than a bit concerned when she revealed herself.

"But..." Bai Long Qiang trailed off, not sure what to say in his defense. "But I’m your son in law! She is my wife, too, which makes all of us your sons in law!"

Demeter raised an eyebrow, and if looks could talk, she would be screaming at him right now. "That’s nice. But she is my new daughter and I have waited a very, very long time for my son to meet someone that I approved of. If you think that you are going to treat her like anything less than the goddess she is, then I am going to show you how scary I can be."

Yup, it was official. I was starting to get a girl crush on my mother in law. The woman was fantastic.

Before I could open my mouth and declare my lifelong loyalty to her, a scream came from the bedroom down the hall—and it was not one of the pleasant screams either.

Letting out a long sigh, I tapped Bin An Sha on the chest so he could let me go. "That’s my cue," I said.

"Is H—Li Dai Lu in labor?" asked Demeter, cocking her head to the side as a very pissed off Liu Yu Zeng came rushing into the room. He stopped dead when he saw everyone.

"How the hell did you guys get in here without me knowing?" he asked, narrowing his eyes on Demeter as she stood in front of us. When another scream came, followed by a list of swearwords so long that I couldn’t keep track of them all, Liu Yu Zeng shook himself out of his stupor.

"Not important," he grumbled under his breath. "She needs you."

With those three words, he spun around, expecting me to follow him.

Another string of curse words drifted into my ears, and I had to admit, I was extremely impressed with the multiple uses for the word ’fuck’.

I took another step back, forcing Bin An Sha to drop his arms. "I have to go," I said, looking at all of my men. I had to admit, I was shocked to see that all seven of them had come for me. "You won’t go anywhere?"

I was being a baby. Chang Ming was home alone, probably terrified out of his mind, and here was me, begging them not to leave.

I was a horrible mother. But as soon as those words popped into my head, I tried to convince myself that only good mothers thought that they were bad... the bad just didn’t care about the issue one way or the other, which led me to more guilt for putting down other mothers.

Shaking my head, I forced my mind to stop going down that particular rabbit hole and concentrate on what was important.

"I’ll go with you," shrugged Bin An Sha. "It’s better to have more hands than not enough."

Nodding my head, I was more than glad to accept his offer.

"This hurts," whined Li Dai Lu, gripping onto Liu Wei and Liu Yu Zeng. "I am never letting you four near me again. Do you understand? I will cut off your cock and balls and make sure that this never happens again."

She tilted her head back and screamed, sweat dripping down her face as Wang Chao frantically tried to pat it dry.

"You say that now, but you love our cocks too much to let anything like that happen," replied Liu Yu Zeng smugly.

I blinked at him as I raised my head from under Li Dai Lu’s skirt. Apparently, Bai Long Qiang was not the only one to suffer from foot in mouth disease.

"There are ways that she can have the best of both worlds," cut in Bin An Sha, his expression completely deadpanned as he leaned against the back wall of the bedroom.

The bed was huge, but I had convinced her to lay closer to the side to make things easier for me. A plastic covering was placed over the sheets to protect it as best it could, but childbirth was messy. I wasn’t sure if the bed would ever recover from it.

Mores the pity, because I was just trying to think about how I could get one the same size for me and mine.

"You can shut your mouth," growled Wang Chao, his head snapping at my man.

"And you can be careful about how you speak to my men," I snapped back, moving away from Li Dai Lu. She was fully dilatated, her water had broken, and now we were just waiting.

As far as I could see, the twins would have done great in government. They had perfected the whole ’hurry up and wait’ thing.

"I had healed her once, and you left me alone in City H," replied Bin An Sha, not once looking away from me. "If she wants to castrate you, I am more than willing to lend a hand."

I had a feeling that I was missing out on a whole bunch of stuff, but it was all before me, so I tried not to let it get to me.
