Chapter 339: What You’ll Do To Me
Chapter 339: What You’ll Do To Me
"What do you mean that was before?" asked Ye Yao Zu as he approached the small child in his friend’s arms. "Before what?"
"Before Mommy got scared," shrugged Wang Chang Ming. He didn’t know if he should be happy with all of this undivided attention, but right now, they should be concentrating on Mommy, not him.
Bin An Sha blinked a few times. "Do you mean that you have Squirt?" he asked, putting two and two together.
The little boy nodded his head and tilted his head to the side. The men watched as the viper emerged from under Wang Cheng Ming’s skin, hissing right beside his ear as the tongue flickered against the boy’s skin. He giggled.
"Can you take us to Mommy?" he asked, looking at the viper that was millimeters away from his face. The snake nodded its head and slowly formed a body as it appeared in the very center of a circle the man didn’t realize that they had made.
The viper looked at all of them, its eyes narrowing as it scented the air before slithering forward to Fan Teng Fei. Raising itself so that half of its body swayed in the air, it hissed at the man.
Fan Teng Fei reached forward, and the snake took the opportunity to strike, biting the man.
Letting out a hiss of his own, Fan Teng Fei narrowed his eyes at the venomous creature. "We don’t have time for games," he growled as the snake climbed up his arm and made himself comfortable around his neck.
’Good. At least you are smart enough to know it,’ replied the snake in his head. Unlike when it was attached to Wang Tian Mu and Wang Chang Ming, the snake didn’t disappear under Fan Teng Fei’s skin. Instead, the viper retained its 3D form, its scales shimmering as the light hit it.
’That way,’ continued Squirt, pointing his tongue down the stairs. ’And hurry. I only have a small part of myself left on the Healer.
"Why would you leave her?" demanded Fan Teng Fei as he jumped down the stairs, using the railings instead of the steps to guide his descent. The rest of the men followed his movements.
’She demanded. She thought that as long as she had access to life, she didn’t need to worry,’ answered Squirt, and Fan Teng Fei could feel the sadness inside of the creature.
Its words caused Fan Teng Fei to stop as soon as they left the building. "She doesn’t have access to the life force?"
’Use your brain,’ grunted the snake. ’If she had access, then the Alpha wouldn’t have stood a chance.’
"Well, that changes things. Where to now?" asked Fan Teng Fei as everyone else looked at him strangely.
’That way,’ hissed Squirt as it pointed its snout to the right.

"What?" I demanded, looking at Alpha. The sun was setting too fast, and soon, I was going to be trapped in a dark room with my worst nightmare. This was not going to be a good night.
"Why do we need to leave?" shrugged the Alpha as he gingerly stepped over the circle of my puke and to a safe distance away. The sour smell was starting to get to me, and I wished I could have done the same thing.
"If you want me to ’heal’ the zombies at City A, then we kind of need to be in City A," I pointed out. I mean, it seemed obvious, right?
"No, those zombies will come to us. Besides, you and I both know that as soon as your feet are on the ground, you are going to try and kill me. Let’s try to be a bit less predictable, shall we?" grunted the Alpha as he sat back down on his chair.
"And you don’t think that someone will eventually realize that I am here? I will have an entire city of people looking for me," I shot back. I honestly didn’t have a clue what this Reaver was thinking. Sooner or later, I would be found.
And he would be dead.
"To which I will lock the door behind me and help them look," shrugged the Alpha. "After all, I do look human, and I can just say that I arrived at the base right after the tide and have been here ever since."
I let out a bark of laughter. "So, you are going to lock me in the trunk of your car and help people look for me?" I asked, thinking about the T-shirt I wanted to buy right before the end of the world. I always found that statement funny... until it was directed at me.
"In a manner of speaking. Plus, the base is far enough away that I can rebuild my horde without people sticking their noses in my business."
"The guys won’t stand for it, you know that. I know that. You were dead the second you decided to follow us from Camp Hell," I sneered.
Here was me thinking that he had some grand plan, and it was literally to just leave me hanging until...
"But at some point in time, you have to take me down," I repeated. There were no two ways about it.
"Nope," answered Alpha. "Everything is going to come down to what choices you want to make. If you want food, you will heal the zombies. If you want water, you heal the zombies; if you want to live, you shut your mouth and do everything I tell you."
"And if I want to die?" I asked, cocking my head to the side. The guys had complained on more than one occasion that I seemed like I had a death wish. Maybe I really did.
"Then I will be more than happy to let you do that. And as soon as you breathed your last breath and, I don’t have to worry about you harnessing your power against me. I’ll eat you the same way I did the other two. You are so much more powerful than them; I wonder what you will do to me?"
I broke out in a cold sweat. I hadn’t considered that.
Whether I lived or died, I would never be free of the Alpha.
