Chapter 310: Karma’s A Bitch

I was about to reply to her when Bin An Sha called out my name.

"Go, it sounds like he needs you. You are a good girl, Wang Tian Mu; I am so happy that you and Bin An Sha found each other," said Yi She Ji as she patted my arm. The smile on her face was almost motherly, and I felt bad that she had her child taken from her.

She would have made a good mother. She seemed like the type that would have moved heaven and earth for her child.

"Thank you," I said as I made my way to the hallway where Bin An Sha’s voice came from. "Make sure that you get out of here safely. And if you need anything, head to Retribution Guild and tell Hu Wen Cheng that I sent you. He’ll make sure to protect you."

"Such a good girl," the woman who looked my age tsked with a shake of her head. "I’ll be fine, but thank you for that. If it is okay with you, I’ll pop in from time to time to see you."

"Of course," I replied just as Bin An Sha called for me again. I should be reacting with much more emergency; logically, I knew that a life hung on the line, but, at the same time, I didn’t want to leave this woman. "And if you can’t find me here, go to City D. I should be there."

"Fine, fine. You go help your man. I’ll just disappear. Don’t worry about me."

"Stay safe," I muttered as I found myself in front of a room with the door closed. Turning my attention away from Yi She Ji, I took in a deep breath and entered the room.

"Where have you been?" asked Bin An Sha, elbows deep in blood.

"Talking," I shrugged. He just ripped Zhao Jun Jie a new one for asking the same question; I wasn’t going to put up with him taking that tone with me, either. "Did you forget that you have the ability to heal?"

"Which doesn’t seem to extend to labor," grunted the man as he laid a blood soaked hand on Wu Bai Hee’s stomach. "There is technically nothing to heal. It is all part of the process."

"I see," I murmured, walking over to the bed where the woman wanting me dead lay.

She was unconscious, probably due to a lack of blood, but at least she wasn’t injured anywhere.

"The baby is breached. I can feel its feet, but even then, it is up high in the womb and on its side," analyzed Bin An Sha. "I don’t think that we are going to be a natural birth. I’ll need you to run next door and prep for surgery."

I bit my tongue, wanting to protest the idea that this woman would be inside of our house. However, we were leaving soon enough. As long as she didn’t die in our space, I guess it would be enough.

The woman was a pain in my ass, and now, Karma was being a bitch and giving her a pain in the stomach.

Lowering my head so that no one could see my smirk, I said, "Of course."

I wasn’t willing to waste my energy on her, especially when I couldn’t quickly get it back.

I honestly needed to tell myself over and over again that the baby was innocent and that I couldn’t just let it die. But seeing Wu Bai Hee lying peacefully on the bed, I wanted to just leave her there to bleed out so that all my troubles would be gone.

Turning around, I went over to our side and told the guys what was going on. I didn’t want Wang Chang Ming anywhere near her, so the guys brought him into the bedroom as Zhao Jun Jie carried Wu Bai Hee into the medical room.

At least Bin An Sha had enough sense not to carry her. There was only so much I could take of him touching her, and the fact that his forearm was inside of her was where I drew the line.

"Vets do the same thing when cows are having a problem giving birth," smirked the man as if he could read my mind. "But there is no way I am willing to touch that woman any more than I absolutely have to. God only knows what diseases she has."

Rolling my eyes, I followed him into the room and helped him get washed up and suited up. I couldn’t remember the last time I had done a cesarian section, so I had no issues with Bin An Sha doing the actual surgery.

Putting a blood pressure cuff on her, I pumped it up and then looked at the reading. "Her blood pressure is low. She might not survive," I admitted, exchanging a look with Bin An Sha. I then went about bringing up her dress so that her lower body was exposed.

We didn’t have any sheets in which to cover her up with, and it wasn’t like Zhao Jun Jie hadn’t seen her naked before.

But I had never been so uncomfortable as when I took off her underwear.

At least I didn’t need to shave her. Thank god for small mercies.

Bin An Sha nodded before turning his attention to Zhao Jun Jie. "If we can save only one, who is it going to be?" he asked the man straight out.

Usually, this was where the father freaked out, not knowing which one to choose, but Zhao Jun Jie wasn’t like that at all. "The baby. The baby needs to live."

"Do you want to be here for this?" I asked, not sure how he was feeling. Some fathers could take it, while others passed out. I was not willing to guess which category Zhao Jun Jie would fall into.

"I’ll wait outside," he said with a nod and quickly left the room.

"We don’t have any of the usual equipment or personnel," I smirked at him as I put on one of the few robes meant to keep me clean.

"These things have been done since 1020AD and was the reason why the chainsaw was invented. I think that between you and me, we’ll do just fine," snorted Bin An Sha as he picked up the scalpel I had placed beside him.

"Are you good?" he asked as he laid the blade just over her pubic area.

"Let’s do this."
