Chapter 270: I Really Am Not
Chapter 270: I Really Am Not
In my head, I had it all worked out. She was the one using her power to take from me, so I would use my power to take from her.
Only she had used up a lot of her life force using her power in the first place. Combined with Cheng Bo Jing’s toxin inside of her... she no longer had enough energy to heal me. In fact, I was pretty sure that she was standing through sheer strength of will.
Oops. I don’t think the guys are going to be too impressed with me.
Shrugging my shoulders, knowing that there wasn’t a lot I could do at this point. I grabbed all of the energy left inside of Wei Li Qin and pulled it into my body.
It was nowhere near enough.
I watched impassively as the woman blinked at me, a look of disbelief on her face as her eyes rolled back into her head, and she collapsed to the floor. Dead.
I always felt like there was a war going on inside of me at any given time. It was fought between what I knew to be right... and what I wanted to do.
I knew the right thing to do would be to heal the woman and everyone else with her. Not only from the toxin that Cheng Bo Jing had infected them with but also the parasite consuming their brain as a result of them eating too much human meat.
But what I wanted to do was tie her to a stake and let her burn to death.
I like to think that everyone was like that. The good angel and the demon on each shoulder wouldn’t be such a well-known concept if the majority of the people didn’t feel the same.
Well... I like to take the middle ground. Being good to the extent that I could look myself in the mirror and know I did good... but not so good that I was shooting myself in the foot.
Killing this woman by taking away her life force was my way of finding a middle ground.
"Bin An Sha?" I asked, forcing the words out of my mouth. Even with her power no longer flowing through me, I was still dehydrated enough to feel my head pounding and the toll it had taken on my body.
There was still a very high chance of death...
For anyone else.
Letting out a long sigh, Bin An Sha scooped me up in his arms and proceeded to head toward the doors and the actual store itself.
Rip held open one of the two swinging doors and then proceeded to follow behind us.
"Outside," was all he said, leaving Bin An Sha to snort out a laugh.
"No shit Sherlock," grunted the other man as he strolled past rack after rack of clothing.
"The supplies," I murmured, looking around at all of the things I could take. Not to mention what was stored in the storeroom we were just in. It hurt me worse than I currently was, knowing that we were walking away from so much useful stuff.
"Fan Teng Fei will take care of it," assured Rip as he smiled at me.
I was about to open up my mouth to ask if Fan Teng Fei had enough room to take everything or if we needed to sort the supplies out in terms of importance, but that would be asking why.
I trusted the who, so there was no need to worry.
Fan Teng Fei would take care of it—end of story.

"What do you want done with them?" asked Liu Hao Yu, looking around at the number of survivors. It was actually quite impressive that they managed to survive this long, but he attributed the majority of that to the store itself.
If they couldn’t survive in a store dedicated to survival, then there was a problem.
"Kill them all," replied Bai Long Qiang. A ball of bright red flames engulfed his hand, and he threw it at the dead body beside the fire. The bitch had hurt his woman. There was no point in keeping her body whole.
Besides, he was really doing what was best for her. After all, she didn’t want to worry about having her flesh eaten by a zombie or something... right?
"There are more in the bunks," grunted Cheng Bo Jing, forcing the boy’s face into his neck. He didn’t want him to see something like this at such a young age. But this was the new reality; he needed to learn to accept certain things at the same time.
"Understood," shrugged Bai Long Qiang, creating another fireball as the men and women were trapped in their own minds thanks to Ye Yao Zu. It would be a much easier death than they deserved, but they refused to let anyone live.
There were lines that should not have been crossed, and they did. For that, only death awaited them.
"Wait!" snapped Fan Teng Fei, his eyes narrowing on the man with the fire in his hand. "If you think Wang Tian Mu is willing to let all of these supplies go up in flames, you have something else coming."
"Oh, right," nodded Bai Long Qiang, clutching his hand closed, extinguishing the flame. "I’ll let you grab those first. Then I’ll burn everything down."
"If I may offer a suggestion?" interjected Liu Hao Yu from where he was leaning against one of the shelves filled with goods. "Maybe kill them all before you burn the corpse. I can speak from experience that while the flames are painful, it is possible to survive them if you are stubborn enough."
"But is there really anyone as stubborn as you?" laughed Bai Long Qiang as row after row of shipping boxes disappeared from the metal storage shelved.
"Are you willing to take a chance and have someone come after your woman for revenge?" snapped back Liu Hao Yu.
His words cut the laughter off fast as Bai Long Qiang narrowed his eyes at the people on the floor. "No," he said softly, pulling out a handgun and putting a bullet in the head of the woman closest to him. "I really am not."
