Chapter 1360: Chapter 1360: Don’t Be Angry Anymore, Okay?

Her heart ached as she frowned in pain. He was sad, and so was she...

"Sorry..." In the midst of the nightmare, Jian Yufei uttered a vague moan.

The window that had been closed was suddenly flung open.

Wind blew in, and the warm yellow curtains fluttered in it...

Jian Yufei felt a trace of chill and instinctively wrapped herself tighter in the blanket.

However, in the dim room, a tall shadow was gradually approaching her.

The sleeping Jian Yufei became increasingly restless as if she sensed Ruan Tianling’s presence.

"Ruan Tianling..."

She frowned, her eyes groggily opening—

The enormous shadow stood at the foot of her bed, and Jian Yufei’s eyes widened in shock as she let out a shrill scream!

"Ah—" Her voice wasn’t very loud, but it was enough to startle the bodyguards outside.

"Miss, are you alright?!" The sound of knocking pounded at the door.

"Click—"

The room’s light was turned on by the shadow, and Jian Yufei looked over in terror, only to see the face that was familiar down to her bones.

"Ruan Tianling?!" Jian Yufei sat up, now less panicked.

"Why are you here?"

Ruan Tianling’s eyes were dark and brooding as he stared at her, wordless.

"Miss, are you alright?!" The bodyguard’s knocking grew louder.

Jian Yufei, worried they would burst in, quickly responded loudly, "I’m fine! I just had a nightmare!"

"Miss, we’re right outside. Call us if you need anything."

"I know!" she replied.

Once it was quiet outside, Jian Yufei hurriedly got out of bed and stood in front of Ruan Tianling.

"How did you get in?"

She looked toward the wide-open window. They were on the second floor, and he had actually climbed up.

Jian Yufei went to shut the window and firmly drew the curtains closed.

"How did you know I was here?" she continued to question him.

Ruan Tianling was still glaring at her darkly, lips pressed tightly together, saying nothing.

Jian Yufei’s eyes flickered; she knew he was still angry.

"Sorry..."

"I don’t need it!" Ruan Tianling coldly cut her off.

"...I didn’t have a choice." Jian Yufei looked down, an apologetic air about her.

"Ruan Tianling, can you be patient just this once? As soon as we find the other child, I can..."

Suddenly, her chin was seized, halting her words abruptly.

Looking up into his icy, fierce gaze, Jian Yufei gently touched his cheek with her hand, "Please, don’t be mad, okay?"

"Jian Yufei, you don’t trust me!"

"I do..."

"I’ve said I would find a way to rescue the child!" Ruan Tianling roared angrily.

"I know you’ll find a way, but..." But Ansel is in danger too.

She had to stay by Ansel’s side, to protect him at all times.

Plus, the meaningful words spoken by her grandfather made her suspect that there was a villain so dangerous, even her grandfather was on guard.

If Nangong himself couldn’t handle this person, how could Ruan Tianling?

All she could do for now was follow her grandfather’s wishes. She was careful and cautious, treading on thin ice, fearing that those she loved would come to harm.

All she wanted was to protect those she loved.

But she couldn’t tell him any of this...

Because Ruan Tianling feared nothing and no one, and she worried he might rashly do something that would spoil their plans.

"What is it?" the man questioned, narrowing his eyes.

Jian Yufei’s eyes flashed, "I’m afraid you’ll be in danger."

"Am I that weak?" Ruan Tianling grew even angrier.

Jian Yufei shook her head, "Better safe than sorry."
