Fated Love With the Billionaire -
Chapter 55 Chu’an Encounter
Chapter 55: Chapter 55 Chu’an Encounter
Liang Lei was the type to take three points even when she was in the wrong, so how could she let things slide when she was right?
The receptionist said it was a system error that caused both guests to book the suite, but Liang Lei wasn’t going to accept such a childish excuse.
She asked sternly, "Who placed the order first, me or the other guest?"
The receptionist replied, "The guest who has already checked in placed the order first."
"Fine," Liang Lei thought. If she could prove that the other party booked first, she’d accept it. "I want to see the order date. It can’t just be based on what you say."
The two receptionists instinctively exchanged glances. This small action made Liang Lei instantly realize there was something fishy; it definitely wasn’t that simple.
"Miss Liang, as you can see, it’s the peak season now. Could we arrange a deluxe business room for you? Although it’s not as large as the previous room, the interior decor and services are the same. We will also reimburse the price difference to make up for your inconvenience."
The more Liang Lei listened, the angrier she became. It seemed to her like they were being deliberately awkward to offer compensation.
She sneered, "Do I look like I’m short on money? Isn’t fairness important wherever you go? I just want to see who actually booked the room first. What’s the problem with proving it?"
The receptionist maintained a professional smile and replied, "Miss Liang, we understand your point, but the suite is already occupied. We should first solve the current issue, wouldn’t you agree?"
"You’ve had a tiring flight, so why not find a room to rest first? I’ll have the customer service send you a complimentary fruit platter, plus a free essential oil Spa massage tonight. Does this sound acceptable to you?"
The day before the trip, Chen Ningxi caught a cold, and the flight added to her headache. Watching Liang Lei negotiate without a resolution, she forced herself to get up from the resting area and walked over.
Chen Ningxi asked, "What’s going on exactly?"
Liang Lei explained the situation briefly, and the receptionist also described her proposed solution. It was clear the two receptionists hoped Chen Ningxi would persuade her friend to drop the matter.
Chen Ningxi knew Liang Lei well; if she sided with the receptionist, to Liang Lei, it would feel like a blatant betrayal.
Given the situation, without violating reason or ethics, Chen Ningxi understood Liang Lei’s perspective and firmly stood by her friend.
She said to the receptionist, "If you can’t prove that the current occupant booked the room before us, then please explain to them and have them vacate the room. We don’t mind waiting a bit longer for you to clean it."
This seemingly gentle and softly spoken guest showed even more resolve than the fiery one just now.
The receptionist, looking troubled yet maintaining politeness, replied, "Miss, our hotel has a policy of not disclosing guests’ information freely. We ask for your understanding."
Hearing this, Liang Lei was about to lose her temper when Chen Ningxi held her back. She took out her phone and walked to the side, dialing the hotel’s complaint line from the number on the notification board.
Cheng Qiaobei had just returned to the office when he heard the phone ring.
He quickly stepped over and picked up the phone. "Hello."
Chen Ningxi pressed her temples and said, "Hi, is this the hotel complaint line?"
"It is..." Cheng Qiaobei was briefly stunned; the voice sounded so familiar.
"Hello, are you listening?"
Finally recognizing it and remembering Chen Ningxi previously mentioning a trip with friends, he never expected she’d come to Chu’an.
"...Ning—"
Before he could call her name, Chen Ningxi had already started complaining about the room situation, clearly and concisely explaining her demands without any fuss. She even challenged Cheng Qiaobei at the end, "If you can’t resolve our room issue, I’ll immediately call to complain to the Consumer Association, the Industrial and Commercial Bureau, and the Mayor’s hotline."
Cheng Qiaobei was eager to see her. "Where are you now?"
Chen Ningxi replied, "In the lobby."
Cheng Qiaobei said, "Wait for me."
He hung up the phone and headed out the door, dialing the front desk as he walked, asking first, "Was the guest who just complained named Chen Ningxi?"
The receptionist checked the registration information and replied, "CEO Cheng, one of the two ladies registered is named Chen Ningxi."
"Other than asking to vacate the room, are there any other requests?" Cheng Qiaobei inquired.
The receptionist replied helplessly, "No, they just want the room. CEO Cheng, these guests are really hard to deal with, but just now, your friend came with a black card to book the room. The presidential suite is the only one, and it was indeed our mistake first. I’ve tried my best to move them to the best deluxe business room on the tenth floor, which has the best view in the whole hotel, with a fruit platter, and the evening essential oil Spa massage all complimentary, but they... still won’t agree."
Cheng Qiaobei said, "Got it. I’m heading down now."
After hanging up, Cheng Qiaobei dialed Lin Hanrui’s phone.
Lin Hanrui was just about to change clothes to go to the paragliding base, picking up Cheng Qiaobei’s call as he buttoned up. "What is it?"
Straightening his collar in the mirror, he heard Cheng Qiaobei say, "Ten minutes, pack your things now."
"...Why?" Lin Hanrui was puzzled.
Cheng Qiaobei said, "You’re staying in another guest’s suite. They’re going to complain now."
"This kind of thing... you," Lin Hanrui frowned, his gaze falling on the phone on the table, "You haven’t lost your memory, have you? You were the one who said I could stay in the presidential suite, and now you want me to move?"
Cheng Qiaobei said, "If we’re brothers, pack now."
"Something’s not right," usually Cheng Qiaobei wouldn’t specially call to urge him to move out. "Be honest; is the one staying in this suite a beautiful woman you know?"
Cheng Qiaobei silently sighed, always being perceptively detected by him. "Do you ever think about anything other than beautiful women? I’ve already sent someone to pick you up. You’ll stay in the deluxe business room on the tenth floor, with the best view in the hotel."
"What if I say no?" Lin Hanrui glanced at the messy suitcase, sighing at the thought of packing it all up again.
Cheng Qiaobei said, "I’ll send you a fruit platter."
"Heh, who needs your fruit platter? Do you think a guy like me needs a fruit platter?" Lin Hanrui teased with a laugh.
Cheng Qiaobei said, "A full-body essential oil Spa massage."
"Hah," Lin Hanrui smirked, unimpressed.
"Ye Zi will do it for you."
"Ye Zi..." This masseuse was incredibly skilled and not only was she pretty, but her voice was also sweet as sugar, with a four-plus sugar content.
But she was hard to book, usually fully booked a week in advance.
Lin Hanrui had his doubts, "Are you lying to me?"
Cheng Qiaobei said, "Believe it or not."
Lin Hanrui quickly said, "Give me ten minutes."
Cheng Qiaobei took the elevator to the lobby; as the doors opened, he saw a familiar figure sitting in the lounge area.
He headed straight there, about to call out when he heard Liang Lei exclaim,
"Cheng Qiaobei?"
Chen Ningxi leaned against the couch, pressing her forehead, eyes shut tight, saying,
"Liang Lei, enough; I feel terrible right now."
"What’s wrong?" Cheng Qiaobei asked, concerned.
