Fated Love With the Billionaire -
Chapter 277: Living Transparently
Chapter 277: Chapter 277: Living Transparently
The shout drew the three people from the living room to the scene. Seeing the girl being helped up, Li Tao’s first reaction was to look at Zhang Qi’an, who was bewildered and incredulously asked,
"Where did you come in from? Why are you in my room?"
Li Tao instantly understood—it was another fan intruding into a celebrity’s room.
He expressed his anger, "You fans are too much! Coming in without permission, we can call the police to arrest you."
Ye Huan smiled awkwardly, "Don’t call the police, I’m a fan of Zhang Qi’an, I really like him, I just wanted to see him."
"Stop using your fan status as an excuse, this isn’t the first time," Li Tao eyed her warily, "Where’s your phone? Hand it over, what did you take pictures of?"
Ye Huan feigned calmness, "I’m not a stalker, I’m a fan of Zhang Qi’an."
"Cut the crap, hand over the phone, open your album, it’ll be clear once we see it." Li Tao reached out his hand.
Li Tao was familiar with these fans’ tactics. For personal gain, they would go to extreme lengths to invade a celebrity’s private life, follow and secretly photograph them, even lurk by the dumpsters outside Zhang Qi’an’s place to pick through his discarded trash to sell to fans.
Li Tao’s tone was unfriendly, "Hand it over."
Ye Huan obviously resisted, reaching into her pocket and turning her face away.
Her reaction already showed she wasn’t just a fan. Li Tao asked again, "When did you come in?"
Ye Huan stammered, "...Well, not long."
"Not long, how long?" Li Tao had had enough of such fan behavior.
Ye Huan replied, "About an hour or so."
"You’re lying," Li Tao frowned, "I’ve been in here for almost two hours. When did you really come in, how did you get in?"
Zhang Qi’an also wanted to know, he asked Ye Huan, "Were you here when I was showering?"
Ye Huan’s pupils contracted, "I... I wasn’t."
Zhang Qi’an closed his eyes and said, "Call the police."
Ye Huan panicked, "I really didn’t see anything, I didn’t see anything."
Trying to cover up the truth, Ye Huan lied, "I really just came in, pretending to be a cleaner and sneaking in."
This girl was too dishonest, and her excuse was laughable. Wei Lai, unwilling to let anyone tarnish the hotel’s reputation, maintained a polite demeanor and said,
"There’s security on the tenth floor twenty-four hours on shifts, even if a fly got in, it would be noticed. You’re saying you pretended to be a cleaner? Do you have a work badge?"
"Hmm?" Ye Huan looked at Wei Lai puzzled, who then showed her a badge. "The security guards at the elevator and the safety channel won’t let anyone in without seeing this card."
Ye Huan didn’t expect the hotel to have such strict management and pondered how to bluff her way out, but Cheng Qiaobei’s words cut off her escape route.
Cheng Qiaobei said, "Miss Ye,"
"How do you know my last name is Ye?"
Cheng Qiaobei said, "I’m the hotel manager; the front desk has the registration information of the staying guests. Also, in case you really don’t want to say, the hotel’s public areas are fully covered by an eagle-eye monitoring system, we can retrieve the surveillance for a look."
Ye Huan had no choice but to admit, lowering her head and saying, "I live on the eleventh floor, above you. I climbed down from the balcony; you were in the shower when I came in, but I didn’t see anything."
Cheng Qiaobei asked, "What did you do once you got in?"
Ye Huan’s eyes rolled, "I just came in to take a look, curious about what my favorite celebrity is like in everyday life."
Cheng Qiaobei asked again, "Did you take photos?"
Ye Huan swallowed, "...No,"
"You better think before you speak." Cheng Qiaobei was sure she had taken photos, "Hand over your phone."
Ye Huan finally admitted but still didn’t intend to hand over the phone, "A few shots."
Cheng Qiaobei emphasized, "How many shots?"
Ye Huan said, "Um... not very clear, about a dozen."
Cheng Qiaobei asked, "Did you send the photos to others?"
Ye Huan paused, "...No."
Everyone could tell she was lying. Cheng Qiaobei sensed that if not handled properly, this girl’s issue might become a ticking time bomb in the future.
He left the decision to Zhang Qi’an, "How do you want to deal with her?"
Zhang Qi’an chose an entire floor by himself precisely to avoid being disturbed by anyone, yet still, a fan intruded into his room uninvited. He was fed up and told Li Tao, "Call the police."
Ye Huan saw that he was serious and, terrified, pleaded with tears, "I’m really your fan, please don’t call the police."
Zhang Qi’an remained firm, "We must report to the police. There’s no negotiation. You must face the consequences of your actions."
Li Tao took out his phone, and in front of Ye Huan, dialed the police.
"Don’t call the police, please don’t," Ye Huan was crying miserably, clutching Li Tao’s arm and begging, "I snuck out from my family; if they find out, my parents won’t forgive me."
After a few rings, Li Tao communicated succinctly with the dispatcher and hung up, waiting for the police to arrive.
Ye Huan sobbed while Zhang Qi’an said, "Why are you crying? What’s there to feel wronged about? If I remember right, you were the one who posted several slanderous pieces about me on Weibo, weren’t you? I should thank you for giving me the experience of being exposed online before even becoming famous."
Ye Huan was stunned, "I, I didn’t."
Li Tao asked Zhang Qi’an, "Which account is hers?"
Zhang Qi’an said, "It’s ’Noble Lady Playing Knife’, that’s her. She must have forgotten to switch accounts and posted her personal photos, then quickly deleted them. But my fans screenshotted them and sent them to my private messages."
Li Tao’s eyes widened, "So you’re ’Playing Knife’? We searched so hard for you, and you came to us yourself."
Ye Huan vehemently denied, "No, it wasn’t me. I didn’t post anything."
Li Tao said, "No? You know the truth in your heart. Don’t worry, you’ll receive a letter from our agency’s lawyer firm, Yongsheng Law Firm, soon enough."
Ye Huan was at a dead end. She cried beautifully as she begged Zhang Qi’an for another chance, but he showed no signs of forgiveness.
"Crocodile tears," Li Tao didn’t feel satisfied, his tone harsher, "Crying now? What were you thinking when you were tarnishing Zhang Qi’an online as a keyboard warrior? If it wasn’t for you, Zhang Qi’an wouldn’t have missed out on several big movie projects. An actor only has a few years, and you’ve ruined them. And now you have the nerve to cry."
In the room, Ye Huan’s sobbing echoed; before long, Wei Lai had security guide the police car to the back door, bringing two officers up.
After a brief inquiry about the incident on the scene, the officers took Ye Huan away.
Zhang Qi’an asked Cheng Qiaobei, "You knew she was in my room early on, didn’t you?"
Cheng Qiaobei said expressionlessly, "Not very early, as soon as we noticed something was off, we came down."
Zhang Qi’an nodded, saying with a deeper meaning, "You gave her the chance to reconcile with us, but she didn’t take it. I also gave her a chance, and she didn’t seize it either."
Indeed, Cheng Qiaobei had given Ye Huan time, but several times she failed to show sincerity, even attempting to deceive and gain sympathy to muddle through.
Cheng Qiaobei said, "Mr. Zhang certainly sees things clearly."
Zhang Qi’an looked at Cheng Qiaobei with admiration, "When it comes to seeing things clearly, I’m not as good as you are."
