Fated Love With the Billionaire
Chapter 218: Jealous

Chapter 218: Chapter 218: Jealous

Cheng Qiaobei had to work in the study every night. Chen Ningxi, knowing he was having a hard time lately, prepared some fruit and tea to bring in.

She placed them on the table and, seeing the document title on the notebook screen, exclaimed in surprise, "Huilv? You guys are still working with Huilv?"

Among the top three travel agencies in the country, Huilv ranked second, with the other two never acknowledging the first place.

Cheng Qiaobei replied, "We just collaborated a while ago. It went smoothly, so we’re planning on working on another project together."

"Oh, did you also go on a blind date with Huilv’s heiress?" Chen Ningxi recalled Cheng Qiaobei mentioning it once.

"..." She still remembered that.

Cheng Qiaobei wasn’t sure if her remembering this would cause a minor tantrum, "Jealous?"

Chen Ningxi found it amusing, "What’s there to be jealous of? Back then, nothing happened between us. It’s normal for you to go on blind dates, right?"

"No way..." Cheng Qiaobei pulled her over, letting her sit on his lap, wrapping his arms around her waist, and asked, "You’ve never been a little bit jealous?"

She shook her head and tried to pry Cheng Qiaobei’s hand away, "Go ahead and continue working. I won’t waste your time. The sooner you finish, the sooner you can rest."

"Who told you to leave? I haven’t finished talking yet." He grabbed her again, "Zhou Sui was my former blind date. She’s beautiful, capable, and had a great body. Aren’t you worried something might happen when we collaborate? Aren’t you jealous?"

"Who would throw dirt on themselves? Come on, don’t think about nonsense all day." Chen Ningxi completely freed herself from him, "The clothes are dry, I’ll go hang them."

Cheng Qiaobei watched her leave with a speechless expression, still unwilling to give up as he asked, "I need to video call my blind date later... video conference."

Chen Ningxi stood at the door, "Do you need me to close the door?"

She wasn’t jealous at all, which made him feel she didn’t care about him.

Cheng Qiaobei added, "My blind date back then liked me a lot. You’re really not jealous?"

Chen Ningxi held the doorknob, smiled at him, her smile full of kindness, and gently said, "Don’t drink the tea on the table yet. I’ll go get some rat poison to mix in."

Cheng Qiaobei burst out laughing, "Hahaha... Jealous, so cute."

Chen Ningxi made a neck-slashing motion with her hand, "Shut up."

Cheng Qiaobei pointed at her playfully, "Brother just loves you."

"Disgusting." Chen Ningxi stifled a laugh and closed the door.

Saving the current document, Cheng Qiaobei opened another folder containing a proposal for the Eastern First-class chain hotel.

He started the video call, put on his headphones, and Jiang Wanyi appeared on the screen.

...

To prepare for the filming of a reality TV show, Cheng Qiaobei brought the team to the Jade Jiali Hotel in Zhoushan to plan in advance the accommodations and transportation for the crew and celebrity artists.

The season was just right, and the hotel had plenty of spaces available for the crew to set up and hold competitions. Besides the hotel, there was a newly established golf course built entirely to tournament standards.

After discussing with the show’s staff, Cheng Qiaobei’s team finalized the activity plan. Cheng Qiaobei’s team would be responsible for contacting the engineering company to start site construction. Naturally, this opportunity was left for Lin Hanrui.

Dialing Lin Hanrui, who was drawing on his computer and holding the phone by his shoulder, he asked, "What’s up?"

Cheng Qiaobei heard occasional clicking sounds from the microphone, "Drawing?"

"Yeah, there’s a drawing due tomorrow," Lin Hanrui said.

"I have a lucrative job for you, want in?" asked Cheng Qiaobei.

Lin Hanrui laughed, "Sure, who doesn’t want to make money."

Cheng Qiaobei moved to a quiet spot, "Call me Dad."

Lin Hanrui burst out, "Screw you—"

Cheng Qiaobei laughed, "Come to the office this afternoon. You know ’XX Reality Show,’ right? They’re coming to the Zhoushan hotel to film. We’ll need to set up the venue, and the payment will satisfy you."

Lin Hanrui responded, "Got it."

Hanging up, Lin Hanrui’s hands worked even faster.

Next, according to the list provided by the program crew to Cheng Qiaobei, they had to arrange accommodation and meals for the celebrities. Celebrities are people too, and they could have specific requirements for their living and eating arrangements, like a male star who won’t stay in a room at the end of the hall or near the elevator, or a female star who requires a strict vegetarian diet with controlled calories.

Some even demanded an entire floor to themselves to avoid private photos being taken secretly. Knowing their reasons makes it understandable.

This particular male artist was currently at the pinnacle of the entertainment industry. Last year, while staying at a hotel, a fan climbed through the window into his room. In the luxury suite, with many rooms, the fan chose the room where the male artist kept his clothes and hid in the wardrobe, waiting until evening. In the early hours, the artist, in a half-awake state, heard breathing near his ear, and upon opening his eyes, saw the fan squatting on the floor watching him sleep. Just thinking about it sent shivers down the spine.

Considering the status of the artists in this episode, Cheng Qiaobei arranged for increased security measures and personnel, drawing elite security from hotels across the country for comprehensive protection.

During the lunch break, Lin Hanrui arrived at Cheng Qiaobei’s office right as Cheng Qiaobei returned to the company. He brewed two cups of coffee, handed one to Lin Hanrui, and said, "Let me catch my breath, and then we’ll talk."

Lin Hanrui replied, "No rush."

He glanced at Cheng Qiaobei’s desk, piled high like a small mountain.

"Seeing you now, you seem busier than before," Lin Hanrui commented.

Cheng Qiaobei rubbed his aching temples and said, "The boss gives me so much money, didn’t that include a labor fee?"

"More money, more work. Sigh, who’s not working for a living," Lin Hanrui lamented.

Cheng Qiaobei put down his hand, "You’re the boss, what are you whining about here."

"Hey," Lin Hanrui opened up, "I’m the boss, but don’t forget, I’m also the contractor. Do you know how annoying some of the requests from the clients are? Have you ever heard of the ’colorful black’ or the ’square circle’?"

Cheng Qiaobei responded, "..."

Lin Hanrui took a sip of coffee, "Phew... Let’s not talk about these, mentioning them raises clients’ blood pressure, and I still want to live a long life."

Cheng Qiaobei chuckled, "Alright then, let’s get started and talk about the show’s requirements."

Lin Hanrui came to the computer, looking as Cheng Qiaobei opened the files in the USB drive, and explained in detail the scene and color requirements for each location, as well as the safety requirements. Lin Hanrui was quick-witted and understood everything thoroughly, and Cheng Qiaobei’s explanations were clear, allowing him to quickly form a conceptual plan for the reality show in his mind.

Cheng Qiaobei copied a file for Lin Hanrui, "Confidential. The payment includes confidentiality terms, absolutely no disclosure."

Lin Hanrui reassured him, "Don’t worry, it’s not my first time doing a project like this."

Cheng Qiaobei noticed that Lin Hanrui seemed much more haggard lately, and showed concern by saying, "Don’t take on too much work, it’s not worth exhausting yourself."

Lin Hanrui scratched his messy hair and stretched his neck before saying, "I can’t not work hard. As soon as I stop, the company stops. Just one more year of this."
