Chapter 965 - Chapter 965 Chapter 965 Sorry Im Not Short on Cash
Chapter 965: Chapter 965: Sorry, I’m Not Short on Cash Chapter 965: Chapter 965: Sorry, I’m Not Short on Cash Ten minutes later, the police car arrived.
It was a very simple traffic accident, easy to handle.
After asking some basic questions, the police were ready to tow the car away.
“If you two can settle this matter privately, you don’t have to go to the police station to make a statement or gather evidence,” the officer advised.
“There’s nothing to settle, just do things by the book,” Ann Nolan crossed her arms, unwavering.
Harper Glorian knew that if this went to the police station, she would definitely be at a disadvantage.
What would Zaiden Santos say when he got back?
“Ann, can we talk this over? Look, your car is damaged, and so is mine, and obviously, my repair costs will be higher than yours. So, how about this: I’ll compensate you some money and we can call it even. It’s sweltering out here, and the police officer is also having a hard time,” Harper Glorian lowered her stance.
This car’s repair costs would definitely not be cheap.
Though Zaiden Santos was not short on money, he would definitely be unhappy.
If they settled, she could tell Zaiden that someone else had hit her car.
“Sorry, I’m not short of money.” Ann Nolan gave her a cold glance. Harper Glorian didn’t have any money, at the end of the day, it was all Zaiden’s.
“You!” Harper didn’t expect Ann to be so blunt!
It was clear she wanted Harper to go to the police station and to embarrass her.
She did not have many connections in Landon, and she would certainly need Zaiden Santos to get her out of there.
That would surely make Zaiden angry.
Harper Glorian’s complexion changed, looking very unpleasant.
She simply could not gain any advantage with Ann Nolan!
Ann Nolan didn’t bother to haggle with Harper Glorian anymore; she walked to her car, took out her bag and belongings, and made another call to her insurance company.
As Ann Nolan was about to walk to the side of the road in her high heels, suddenly–
Harper Glorian, driven by some unknown resentment, gave Ann a push when she wasn’t paying attention.
“Ah!”
Ann was wearing high heels!
Unsteady, she twisted her ankle, and her phone flew out of her hand.
Just when she thought she was going to fall, a car stopped next to her!
The man in the driver’s seat reacted quickly, pushing open the car door and stepping out in time to catch her.
Ann Nolan quickly leaned on the car to steady her heels, avoiding a fall.
The man supported her arm and looked down to ask, “Are you alright?”
Ann Nolan’s hair was disheveled; she steadied herself on the car with one hand and pushed back her messy hair with the other.
She shook her head, “I’m fine, thank you, sir.”
The man had the crisp scent of cologne on him and was dressed in a white shirt and black trousers; his one hand was still supporting Ann.
Only after Ann Nolan was steady did he bend down to pick up her phone from the ground.
“Your phone.”
“Thank you,” Ann Nolan said, taking it and feeling slightly calmer after the chaotic moment.
She hadn’t expected Harper Glorian’s resentment to be that intense; Ann was somewhat helpless.
The sunlight bore down as she took a moment to examine the man before her–
He was quite young, probably in his twenties, with handsome features and eyes like stars. His elegant demeanor exuded good breeding.
At the corner of the man’s mouth was a subtle curve; his one hand still on Ann’s arm, a Patek Philippe watch adorned his wrist.
Ann Nolan withdrew her gaze and smiled.
Seeing someone coming, Harper Glorian had already hidden herself beside the police officer, not daring to show her face.
The man’s voice was calm, “I was just passing by. Did you hit anywhere?”
Ann Nolan shook her head, “No, thank you. I nearly fell.”
Her ankle throbbed with pain, and Ann Nolan furrowed her brows.
