Fated love: the unwanted bride
Chapter 1387: A Different Charm in Bed

Chapter 1387: Chapter 1387: A Different Charm in Bed

Jesse Rowan hadn’t expected such an outcome, indeed aligning with the rumors—Sylvan Cheney was indeed impervious to all persuasions.

Even his girlfriend being taken by someone else left him indifferent.

Is there something wrong with this man?

Or perhaps, in Sylvan Cheney’s eyes, women are nothing of consequence?

Jesse Rowan grew increasingly curious.

Halfway through a cigarette, Jesse Rowan allowed Sylvan to leave with Lilac Serval.

He adjusted the collar of his sleeping robe, sauntering lazily back to his own suite.

The floor was covered with red carpet, making no sound as he walked on it.

After passing a living room, he arrived at the largest bedroom.

On the bed, a woman sat hugging her knees, her gaze vacant, her hair disheveled.

She wore only a thin champagne-colored nightgown, her shoulders trembling.

Her head was lowered, as though she had just been crying.

"Did you hear Sylvan’s voice?" Jesse Rowan bent down, blew a puff of smoke onto her face with an insufferable tone, "He doesn’t seem to care much about you, does he?"

"Get out!" Joan Harry looked up, her eyes red with hate staring at him.

She hadn’t expected this to happen, perhaps...it was a twist of fate for having had too smooth a sailing these past years.

The hair on her forehead, wet from tears, clung to her face, adding to her dishevelment.

"Why so fierce? Haven’t I been nice to you? I’ve been quite gentle with you, especially in bed, I always take care of your feelings," Jesse Rowan narrowed his eyes.

So close to her, he realized how truly beautiful Joan Harry was.

Without makeup, her skin was flawless.

Merely the thought of it stirred a reaction in his body.

Jesse Rowan liked women alright, but not to the point of lusting after every one he saw—only this woman before him was particularly alluring.

He had seen Joan Harry a few times at functions before, always perceiving her as dignified and elegant, never expecting...her to possess such charm in bed.

It’s fair to say, she was quite a pleasant surprise.

The Harry Family held a significant stature in Landon; he hadn’t anticipated bedding Miss Harry.

If there was someone to blame, it was that night’s extended socializing, the drugs in his drink, and his dazed encounter with Joan Harry in the elevator.

"Miss Harry, you’ve heard it too, Mr. Cheney is quite heartless towards you," Jesse Rowan kicked her while she was down, "He seems not to like you. Let me tell you, I told you, after I slept with you, he had no reaction at all, disappointed?"

Joan Harry didn’t speak, her body cold to the touch.

She had heard all of Jesse and Sylvan’s conversation.

She knew what kind of person Sylvan Cheney was.

Disappointed? Not too much, after all, she had known from the start that Sylvan Cheney didn’t love her.

A dim luster in Joan Harry’s eyes, she sat motionless, hugging her knees.

Her face pale and lusterless.

"Come with me. Though I have many women, I can surely treat you better," Jesse Rowan offered as he smoked.

At least, he hadn’t had his fill of Joan Harry yet.

He had confined her to his suite these past few days, suddenly developing a taste for her and wanting more.

"Let me go," Joan Harry said with eyes reddened, looking at him.

"Let you go? Of course, I’ll let you go," Jesse Rowan laughed, "Miss Harry of the Harry Family, I see no reason not to let you go."

With that, Jesse Rowan unlocked his phone in front of Joan Harry, clicking his tongue in sigh.

His phone contained nothing but photos taken secretly with Joan Harry.

"Alas, once I let you go, I’ll have nothing but these photos to sigh over," Jesse Rowan shook his head, feigning distress.

Joan Harry’s eyes widened in both embarrassment and anger!
