Chapter 1374: Chapter 1374 I Want a Baby...
He scooped her up with his large hands and carried her horizontally to the bed.
Jasmine Yale was tired and didn’t say much, she just hugged the comforter and closed her eyes.
As long as she didn’t speak, the house was generally quiet.
Sylvan Cheney turned off the light and embraced her.
This time, unlike usual, Jasmine didn’t snuggle into his arms demanding hugs; instead, she curled up on one side, like a cat.
In the darkness, Sylvan Cheney’s eyebrows slightly furrowed.
After a long time, their breathing gradually steadied.
Jasmine Yale didn’t speak, and Sylvan thought she had fallen asleep.
He didn’t know how much time had passed—
Jasmine Yale murmured softly, "I want a baby..."
Really want, really want.
It would be best if it were a little girl who would smile with her, a sweet and soft little girl to hold in her arms.
However, this man was unwilling to give her another child.
She heard that men usually don’t like to wear condoms unless absolutely necessary.
His attitude was clear; he didn’t want children.
Chale Cheney was just an accident, if not for the accident, he might not have wanted children.
She thought he was very nice to Chale, so she believed he really liked children.
Perhaps she was wrong.
He was still the same as before, not particularly interested in children.
He didn’t buy her medicine yesterday, just out of concern for her health, fearing that the medicine would cause her more trouble.
Jasmine Yale shook her head, what was she thinking?
Even if Sylvan Cheney took no precautions, she was unlikely to get pregnant.
Her physical condition wasn’t good.
No children then, but she feared that he might not want her either.
Sylvan Cheney’s eyebrows knitted, he wasn’t used to sleeping early and hadn’t yet fallen asleep upon hearing Jasmine’s dream talk.
For nearly a year, he had been accustomed to sleeping only around two or three o’clock in the morning, or even staying up all night.
Even with Jasmine Yale’s return, this habit had not changed.
He frowned and drew her into his arms, his arm encircling her frail body.
Moonlight reflected on the curtains, the light dim, the scenery outside the window desolate.
...
On Saturday, Sylvan Cheney kept his promise and took her to the seaside.
The weather wasn’t great for a seaside trip, but Jasmine Yale insisted, so he had no choice but to agree.
It was still dark when Jasmine Yale got up; she made breakfast early for both Sylvan and herself.
"I want to watch the sunrise." Jasmine Yale said while sitting at the dining table, looking at him.
"That’s exactly why I’m taking you, to see the sunrise," Sylvan Cheney said, "but let me be clear, if you catch a cold today, I won’t take you out again."
"Got it, you’re so annoying," Jasmine Yale muttered.
Butler Santana had already packed an outfit for Jasmine Yale, a coat, scarf, and snow boots, so she wouldn’t be cold watching the sunrise at the seaside.
Jasmine Yale ate her breakfast leisurely.
There was still plenty of time.
It was still pitch black outside, so dark you couldn’t see your hand in front of your face.
"It’s been a long time since I’ve gotten up this early, but you’ve finally kept your word for once," Jasmine Yale said indifferently, her head down as she cut her bread.
Sylvan Cheney had already finished eating; he glanced at her leisurely, silent and unresponsive.
"Do you still like the breakfast I made today?" Jasmine Yale asked.
Everything was his favorite, all prepared by her hands.
Unfortunately, the most heartfelt thing she had ever made for him was a cake, but he never tasted it.
"It tastes okay."
"If you really liked it, I could get up early every day to make it for you."
"Get up early every day? Can you manage that? You know, I’m not in the habit of sleeping in." Except occasionally, to keep her company.
