Chapter 1334: Chapter 1334: Turning Raw Rice into Cooked Rice

"Ding—"

The elevator doors opened.

Jasmine Yale slowly lifted her head, arriving at the ground floor, the first level.

She ran out of the elevator, through the hotel lobby, and straight into the deep, cold winter night of Landon.

As soon as she left the hotel, it was like stepping from fire into ice.

A cold wind blew onto her and she shivered uncontrollably, hugging her arms tight, her footsteps erratic.

She didn’t know where to go and hid under the trees by the roadside, silently observing this city that was both familiar and foreign to her.

Cars streamed like water and horses like dragons on the road, and people bustled by—it was still lively.

Yet, she was aimless.

The cold wind of winter, chilling to the bone, blew against her neck, icy cold.

A fire seemed to blaze within her, inextinguishable, her entire being felt as if trapped in a desert, restless and unbearable.

"I feel so terrible," Jasmine Yale frowned in discomfort.

Was the drug so potent? She had only taken a sip.

The cold wind chilled her outside, but inside she was burning hot; she felt like she was going to explode in pain.

Such feelings, she had never experienced before.

The wind blew her long hair into disarray, strands wet with tears sticking to her face.

The wind made her feel slightly better, but it was very cold.

She stood vacantly under the tree, at a loss as to where to go.

She did not know how long she had stood there when she saw a familiar figure hurriedly passing by in front of the hotel.

The woman was wearing a mask and high heels; she entered the hotel and disappeared in a flash.

Jasmine’s eyes momentarily hazed over.

Although she hadn’t seen Joan Harry many times, she remembered Joan’s appearance, petite and exquisite, with a graceful posture.

Her deepest impression of Joan was her smile.

Joan Harry’s smile was very sweet, with a hint of youthfulness, but also like a Little Princess who had been pampered as she grew up, very gentle.

Jasmine looked towards the hotel’s entrance, her lips tinged with a bitter smile.

Once Joan went up, everything would end.

Yet, everything could also begin anew.

"Sylvan Cheney, you won’t blame me, right," Jasmine Yale whispered to the hotel in a murmur.

He wouldn’t blame her.

He wouldn’t have the heart to blame her.

Remembering the moments nestled in his arms that evening, Jasmine felt another tremor in her heart.

One of her favorite things to do was to cuddle in his arms like a lazy cat, but now she had lost him forever.

She could no longer snuggle into his embrace.

From now on, another woman would accompany him.

Jasmine’s mind was a mess, her head a bit fuzzy.

Different scenes flashed through her mind, one after the other.

She leaned against the tree trunk and suddenly crouched down, sobbing uncontrollably—

Like a lost child, she buried her head in her knees, crying without restraint.

In the indifferent city, nobody would stop for her; she cried with all her might, knowing... this was the last time she would cry for him.

There would no longer be someone to wipe away her tears and tease her for being "such a crybaby."

The cold wind blew over her as she huddled up, homeless.

She was unsure if he would confront her for her actions, but what’s done was done, and he wouldn’t take it out on her.

She had asked him what would happen if she made a mistake.

He said that if it wasn’t serious, he could indulge her.

He would indulge her in this mistake, right?

She would leave first thing tomorrow morning; she hoped to hear good news about the Cheney Group in the coming days.

He needed to be well.

In the faintly lit corner, Jasmine Yale cried, her tears soaking her collar.

In the future, whether he cursed or despised her, she would not argue back.
