Chapter 1290: Chapter 1290: Will You Come Back Again?

"Anyway, I don’t like to drink it, so you try it." Jasmine Yale snorted and handed him a cup of freshly ground coffee.

"If it’s not good, you’ll have to drink it all," he teased her.

Xiao Ya quickly stepped back, shaking her head like a rattle drum, "No!"

She hated the bitter taste and never drank coffee, usually having milk for breakfast.

He picked up the cup and took a sip of the coffee she had made herself.

It was probably her first time making this fancy coffee, and the taste was indeed not commendable, but he finished every drop.

"Is it good?" She blinked her big eyes, looking at him expectantly.

"It’s not very good; make it again tomorrow."

"Ah?"

She was stubborn and wouldn’t stop until he said it was "good."

So, from that day on, she got up every day to make coffee, making him different varieties every day.

Back then, a cup of coffee every morning had become something he looked forward to every day.

He didn’t know how many days had passed when he saw her getting up early every day to make coffee, and finally, he said it was "good."

But she had already formed a habit, and her skill was getting better.

Butler Santana’s skill was not much different from Jasmine Yale’s, but when Sylvan Cheney drank it, he tasted only a never-ending bitterness.

That bitterness spread from his throat into his abdomen and diffused through his limbs.

Sylvan Cheney had little appetite, looking out at the fluttering snowflakes through the window, his eyes filled with a deep, secluded light.

The snow outside was still falling.

The world outside the window was like glazed paradise, beautifully dazzling.

A thin layer of condensation formed on the windowpane, turning into droplets because of the temperature difference and gathering into streams.

It was still dark outside, only the streetlights quietly shining on the snowflakes.

Jasmine Yale loved watching the snow.

Especially liked to sit by the window all day long, propping up her cheek with her hand.

After drinking half a cup of coffee and taking a few bites of a sandwich, Sylvan Cheney didn’t really want to eat.

He took a scarf from the coat rack, tied it properly, and put on gloves.

Butler Santana brought over some medicine, "Mr. Cheney, take the cold medicine before you go out, it’s cold outside."

"Okay."

Sylvan Cheney didn’t refuse, as he had been feeling a bit of a cold and discomfort the past few days.

"Mr. Cheney, where are you going?"

"Just out for a bit."

Butler Santana knew Sylvan Cheney’s temperament and didn’t dare to ask further.

During this period, she knew Sylvan Cheney wasn’t very busy, sometimes spending the whole day at the Cheney Residence, doing nothing else.

Sometimes standing on the balcony smoking, sometimes drinking alone.

His meals weren’t regular, and he didn’t eat much.

Butler Santana was really distressed.

She had never seen Sylvan Cheney like this before.

She couldn’t ask anyone about it, not even Lilac Serval, who wouldn’t tell her a word.

She always felt it was because Miss Yale had left that Mr. Cheney was like this.

At least, the last time Miss Yale came to the Cheney Residence, there was a smile on Mr. Cheney’s face.

She also wanted Miss Yale to come back to see him, but it had been over a year. She hadn’t even come back for New Year’s; would she ever return?

Probably not.

During the New Year, there were no fireworks at the Cheney Residence; it was cold and quiet, the vast residence inhabited only by Sylvan Cheney.

Sylvan Cheney didn’t eat much for the New Year’s Eve dinner either.

On New Year’s Eve, the lights in Sylvan Cheney’s room stayed on all night.

Other than the bright light, the entire Cheney Residence was devoid of any life, just an empty, echoing house.

Butler Santana didn’t know what Miss Yale was thinking, why she just wouldn’t come back at all?

Even if she was busy with her studies, she should come back for New Year’s to see Mr. Cheney.
