Chapter 1247: Chapter 1247: Already Slept with Someone

He kept silent, and she grew bolder.

Lilac Serval played with the rice in her bowl with her chopsticks, the corners of her mouth curved upwards.

She smirked, "Brother McIntosh, have you never experienced a woman’s touch? That can’t be true, at your age."

A hint of annoyance flashed across Charles McIntosh’s face.

His eyes became icy and penetrating after her remark.

"Perhaps Brother McIntosh is incapable; did you get injured while practicing martial arts with your master when you were young? That’s such a shame, missing out on one of life’s great pleasures," Lilac Serval said indifferently as she continued to eat.

She appeared quite nonchalant, picking up a rib with her chopsticks and savoring it with gusto.

Eating her own cooking did give her a sense of accomplishment.

Before, she found cooking boring but now, she thought it might be worth learning.

"One day, I’ll show you whether I’m capable or not," Charles said with loathing as he glanced at her.

"But I don’t want to see. What does it matter to me if you’re capable or not? I’ve met plenty of men who are impressive," she retorted.

Charles’s expression darkened, and he roughly stuffed a piece of lean meat into her mouth, "Shut up and eat!"

Lilac Serval was silenced by the meat stuffed into her mouth; she could only glare at him before eating it.

Much later, they finally changed the subject.

"Charles, about Yacob Harry... have you sent someone to keep an eye on him?"

"Mm."

"I heard his daughter is working in the public relations department at Cheney Family, is that right?"

"Yes."

"Why keep her around then? Has Cheney Family become a sanctuary?"

"Yacob Harry’s daughter knows nothing of her father’s actions. It never crossed her mind that her father would make such a move. As for now, Cheney Family will certainly not harm her."

"Yacob Harry’s scheming is common knowledge. What about marrying off his daughter? It’s all for his own benefit."

"How could it not be? It’s always about advantage and gain."

"Is Yacob Harry’s daughter beautiful?" Lilac Serval inquired casually as she ate.

"She won a beauty pageant title."

"Oh, she’s been by Mr. Cheney’s side for a while now, yet Mr. Cheney hasn’t shown any interest in her. Whereas if she had been with you, you probably would have taken her to bed by now."

"Do you really see me that way?" Charles’s expression soured.

"In my eyes, you’ve never been a good man. You’re incomparable to Mr. Cheney." Lilac Serval did not care if she wounded his pride.

She thought her brother had quite a thick skin.

No matter what she said, she had never seen him get angry.

This only made her more unrestrained in her speech.

"You really go out of your way to put me down."

"It’s not about putting you down; in my eyes, you’ve always been that kind of person. I’ve never thought of you as a real man, heh."

Anyway, at this critical moment, she couldn’t afford to rehash old disagreements with him.

Now, with Cheney Family hanging by a thread, after this meal, they would both have their own tasks to deal with.

"All you have left is to show off in front of me. No worries, I’ll let it slide," Charles said coolly, an immeasurable depth in his gaze, "You’re younger than me; if I don’t indulge you, what else can I do?"

"Charles, what are you planning to do about Hadley Ximenez?"

"I will get him out; you don’t need to worry about that."

"What about Elder Childe?"

"The Elder has gone off somewhere to recuperate; his whereabouts are unknown, unpredictable."

"Why didn’t he just kill Hadley Ximenez?" A deep glint shone in Lilac Serval’s eyes, her face enveloped in calm and composure.

"Hadley Ximenez once had a mental illness, did you know?"
