Chapter 1222: Chapter 1222: Medical Abortion Has Little Impact on Your Health
The next day.
Around 10 a.m. in the clinic, the doctor looked at Ann Nolan and then at her medical report.
After asking her some basic questions, the doctor in the white coat pushed up his glasses and said indifferently, "Do you really not want this child?"
"Yes, I didn’t plan on keeping it."
"Young people should not focus solely on pleasure. Abortions are harmful to your body and may affect future pregnancies."
"Is the impact significant?" Ann Nolan was still a bit nervous.
It was her first time undergoing such a procedure, and to the doctor, she seemed as innocent as a seventeen or eighteen-year-old girl who had done something wrong.
"It’s hard to say what will happen in the future; it depends on how you recover," the doctor said. "I see you’ve come alone, don’t you have friends or parents to take care of you?"
Ann Nolan shook her head: "It’s okay, I can manage on my own."
"Then let’s go with a medical abortion, it’s just over a month now, and it won’t have a big impact on your body, it might be a bit better."
"Okay, I’ll listen to the doctor."
Ann Nolan was like an obedient child, not saying a word of objection; she listened to whatever the doctor said.
"Be more cautious when engaging in that sort of activity in the future; even if the man refuses to take precautions, you should take the pill on time."
"I understand."
When she walked out of the clinic, Ann Nolan’s cellphone rang.
It was Zachary Santos.
"CEO Santos."
"Resting at home?" Zachary Santos’s clear voice came through.
"Yes, I wasn’t feeling well today, so I took the day off to rest."
"At home?"
"Yes." Ann Nolan ducked into the corridor by the clinic’s entrance.
"Look up and forward," came Zachary Santos’s cold, low voice.
Ann Nolan was startled and looked up and ahead.
In the crowd, she immediately spotted Zachary Santos!
Zachary Santos was dressed unassumingly today in a khaki long coat, handsome features, and his tall stature stood out in the crowd.
Ann Nolan, frightened, widened her eyes and, forgetting to hang up the phone, clutched her papers and ran to the end of the hallway.
How did Zachary Santos find this place?
Why would he come here?
At this very moment, there was only one thought in Ann Nolan’s mind: no one must find out about her pregnancy!
She was wearing flat shoes today and ran quickly.
Ann Nolan pushed through the crowd and ran.
But she couldn’t outrun Zachary Santos.
Zachary Santos wasn’t far from her; with long strides, he walked towards her, his coat billowing in the breeze.
Ann Nolan ran until she was out of breath. She had not been feeling well these past few days and soon found herself unable to run any farther.
Zachary Santos stepped forward and grabbed her wrist.
Her wrist was caught by him, and she could no longer run.
"Ann, do I eat people? What, you see me and run?" Zachary Santos grasped her wrist firmly and didn’t let go, twisting her shoulder so she faced him.
Ann Nolan’s gaze flickered, not daring to look at him: "Getting caught in a lie by a boss sure makes one want to run."
"What’s wrong with your health?" Zachary Santos stared intently at her face. "Why come to the hospital?"
"Just a minor cold."
"You’re still lying to me." Zachary Santos freed one hand to reach for the paper she was clutching tightly.
Ann Nolan’s face turned pale with fear, her fingers desperately holding onto the paper, not letting him take it.
She hadn’t expected to run into Zachary Santos. He was a member of the Santos Family, and he would tell his brother!
Of course, Ann Nolan refused to let go, no matter what.
The paper was crumpled with deep creases, nearly tearing.
Zachary Santos couldn’t snatch it and instead held on to her wrist, his expression calm and collected: "I was able to find you here; do you think I don’t know anything?"
