Chapter 1215: Chapter 1215: I Got Divorced
Yukon Carbon had been in Cakago for a month, almost spending every day with Jasmine Yale.
After her final exams ended, he also returned from Cakago to Old York.
"Jasmine, are you going back to your country for the winter vacation?" asked a classmate from home after the last exam.
"I’m not going back, I just went back last month."
"In that case, I had planned to fly with you to Landon, knowing you are from there."
"Sorry, I’m not going back this year."
"Then I’ll go find other classmates. Have fun in Cakago, I see your boyfriend treats you really well."
Jasmine smiled, neither denying nor confirming.
She packed her backpack and walked out of the classroom.
The weather was very cold today, freezing cold; stepping out of the classroom felt chilled.
New Year’s Day had already passed, and it wouldn’t be long before the lunar New Year.
If she remembered correctly, was it twenty days away?
This would be her first New Year abroad.
Wrapped in a scarf, Jasmine walked along the edge of the forest to the edge of the campus.
A few days earlier, it had snowed, and the snow had already melted, only the ice lingered on the treetops, signaling extreme cold.
Just then, Jasmine’s phone rang.
It was Ann Nolan.
It had been a long time since she had contacted Ann; they had both been very busy recently. Receiving a call from Ann made Jasmine very happy.
"Ann! It’s been a while since we spoke, what a coincidence, I’ve just finished my last exam," Jasmine exclaimed, unable to contain her joy.
A smile of happiness was evident on her brows.
But on the other end, there was a pause, a silence.
Not a sound.
Jasmine hurriedly stopped and found a wind-sheltered corridor, frowning, "Ann?"
She glanced at her phone, which showed it was still connected.
Why wasn’t she speaking?
"Ann?" Jasmine hurriedly said again.
Finally, Ann spoke, her voice faint and tender, hoarse and weak, "Jasmine... I might be coming to UT."
Ann’s voice sounded wrong, as if she had been crying.
Her emotions seemed off.
Jasmine’s heart skipped a beat; she knew Ann was strong-willed, and not just anything could get her down.
"Why? Why come to UT?" Jasmine couldn’t help but ask.
On the other end, Ann forced a smile, "I got divorced."
Just a few simple words, and suddenly Jasmine felt the sunlight in front of her flicker sharply.
The bright light hurt her eyes.
Divorced...
Although she had long known that Ann and Zaiden Santos would get divorced, when the day came, Jasmine still found it hard to accept.
She had gotten used to Ann and Zaiden being separated, accustomed to their concealed marriage.
She had never thought the day would come so quickly.
Though it was not really quickly; at the beginning of the year, Ann had already given the divorce papers to Zaiden.
A year had passed, and they still hadn’t managed to reconcile.
Sometimes Jasmine thought, if Zaiden had just loved Ann a little more, shared a little of the affection he had for Harper Glorian with Ann, Ann might not have felt so desperate.
The news was quite sudden, and Jasmine still hadn’t digested it.
Recently when they chatted on WeChat, Ann had only mentioned that Zaiden was very busy and seldom in Landon.
Today when she received the call, they were already divorced.
"Ann, are you coming to UT?"
"Yes, Golden Growth has a branch in Old York," Ann’s voice was gentle, "I can transfer my work there directly."
