Chapter 1209: Chapter 1209: Don’t Send Me Away
Jasmine Yale’s small face was hidden in her scarf, looking like a cute cat, an utterly likable appearance.
When he smiled at her, her courage swelled, and she completely forgot about skipping class.
She looped her arm through his, laughing joyfully.
However, she remained cautious and glanced around behind him.
"Did you come back alone?" Jasmine asked carefully.
"Mm, what’s up?" Sylvan Cheney’s handsome eyes turned towards her.
"No, nothing." Jasmine was glad—he didn’t have a girlfriend.
"Let’s go home." Sylvan prepared to walk outside the airport with her.
"I’ll help you with your luggage."
"That’s not necessary."
"Aren’t you tired?"
"How long have you been waiting here?"
"Not long, just a few tens of minutes," lied Jasmine.
"You’re a little girl, don’t wander off like this in the future." Sylvan frowned slightly, speaking calmly, "What if someone abducted you?"
"I’m not a little girl anymore, why do you still treat me like one?" Jasmine pouted, slightly upset. "If someone abducted me, I wouldn’t care about you anymore."
"You really wouldn’t care about me anymore?"
"Yes, I wouldn’t care about you anymore," Jasmine stubbornly held her head high.
"I care about you, that’s enough."
Sylvan drew her closer, leading her towards the car.
His Rolls-Royce was parked outside; the wind was blowing fiercely, chilling to the bone.
As they stepped outside, a gust of wind lifted her scarf, and she ducked into Sylvan’s arms, "Cold."
Sylvan held her close, walking her towards the car, which shielded them from the cold.
Inside the car, it was warm.
Jasmine still minded his words—what did he mean by "a little girl"?
Did he still see her as a little girl? She wasn’t young anymore; she was already in junior high. Did he always treat her like a child?
This thought made her a bit disheartened.
The car drove back to the Cheney Residence.
"Jasmine Yale." Sylvan suddenly looked stern, "What was the last class today?"
"English," Jasmine, frightened, sat up straight.
Every time he called her by her full name, it was never good news, and it always carried an intimidating tone.
"What did you do during the class? Hmm?"
Jasmine was terrified; he had somehow found out? How did he get the information so quickly?
"I... It wasn’t intentional..." her voice trailed off.
"Skipping class? You think you’re so capable, no one can control you anymore?" Sylvan looked at her sternly.
"You can control me," Jasmine looked towards him with a cheeky smile.
It was dark in the car, but both could feel each other’s breaths and heartbeats.
With the faint light from outside, she could still see his stern face, looking fierce.
"I think your wings are getting too strong; one day, even I won’t be able to handle you."
"That won’t happen, that won’t happen. I’ll always listen to you, whatever you say, for a lifetime. Don’t be angry, you just got back today, you shouldn’t get upset over such small matters. I have a day off tomorrow, I’ll stay home and keep you company, I won’t go anywhere, okay?" Jasmine tried to choose pleasing words.
"What need do I have for your company? Stay home and do your homework tomorrow, and don’t go anywhere."
"Oh..."
Jasmine became displeased.
"Jasmine Yale, if you can’t even pass into high school, I’ll consider sending you away," Sylvan warned her coldly, his eyes holding a profound light.
"Don’t!" Jasmine was scared, being young and easily frightened. She quickly clung to Sylvan’s arm, "Don’t send me away, you can’t do that, having tricked someone back, how can you just send them away."
