Chapter 1207: Chapter 1207: The Dreams Are Tedious, The Scenery Is Vague
Twelve hours later, the plane touched down at Cakago Airport.
Jasmine Yale was dreaming, and once again, her mind had wandered back to events of many years ago.
To that winter when she was fifteen.
The dream was long-winded, the scenes blurry.
It was also an airport, Landon International Airport, where she knew someone’s plane was due to return to the country that evening.
The last class of the day was English, and her mind was elsewhere, constantly staring out the window.
"Jasmine Yale, make a sentence with the word I just explained," the young English teacher, pushing up her glasses, tapped Jasmine’s desk with the textbook.
Jasmine, still dazed, hadn’t realized the teacher had come over.
Startled, she quickly stood up.
But she hadn’t heard anything at all; how could she know which word the teacher had mentioned?
Her deskmate was anxious but couldn’t help her.
"Jasmine Yale, what’s with you? You don’t even know the word I just covered? So forgetful? I saw you looking outside the whole time and even though today is Friday, the last class of the week, you don’t need to be in such a rush to go home, right? Is there something delicious waiting for you at home?"
The whole class burst into laughter.
Jasmine hung her head, looking awkward and uneasy at her English textbook.
She truly didn’t know what the teacher was talking about.
"Jasmine Yale, you’re not taking this seriously. I’ve found you wandering off in class more than once. With this attitude, you’ll flunk high school entrance exams, so it’s high time you started taking this seriously! You scored so low on the monthly exam, and I haven’t even reprimanded you for that."
The English teacher, very upset, slapped the desk hard.
"Wake up! If you keep this up, I’ll have to call your parents in."
Jasmine offered no retort and remained silent.
"Really now... stand for the rest of the class so you don’t fall asleep. It’s for your own good. What are you going to do if you don’t get into high school—go out and work?"
Jasmine didn’t say a word, and just stood there.
She hadn’t been paying attention in class.
The English teacher didn’t bother with her anymore, continuing the lesson with vocabulary and grammar.
Although Jasmine stood, she didn’t take in a word; she was lost in thought, her mind still on that person.
His plane was at six in the evening; she had never been to the airport to pick him up before because he hadn’t allowed it.
It was Friday today; could she go to the airport to pick him up? Would he be surprised?
This sudden idea made her determined—yes, she could go pick him up.
School ended at five, and it would be enough time, definitely enough.
She couldn’t care less about making it into high school or not; if she didn’t, she could just go work. All she could think about was him.
It had been a month since she last saw him.
It was so cold out; could he have caught a cold? Did he bring enough clothes?
She knew he worked hard; had he lost weight?
"Jasmine Yale!" The English teacher called her name twice!
Jasmine looked up blankly, "Huh?"
"With that attitude, I’m going to talk to your homeroom teacher and have your parents come to the school next week. I’ve never seen a girl with so little ambition..."
Jasmine glanced at the time; it was four-thirty.
The English teacher was furious and gave her another earful before returning to the podium to continue teaching.
Jasmine was extremely anxious; would she make it in time?
With that thought, she simply shoved the homework for the weekend into her backpack—
And like an arrow released from its bow, she did something incredibly bold; she skipped class right in front of the teacher!
She ran out of the classroom as quickly as she could!
Their classroom was on the third floor, and she dashed down the stairs with a "thump-thump-thump-thump," her footsteps echoing crisply.
