Chapter 976: Chapter 592 Dark Castle

In this regard, the Conqueror Guild held an absolute advantage. After all, Gaven supported it, and a series of resources he possessed would, of course, be prioritized for the Guild’s use. Not to mention others, but at the very least, the business in Blood Gorge City and Dwarf Statue City was off-limits to competitors. For a short time, it would remain the exclusive domain of the Conqueror Guild.

The Conqueror Army had ignited interest in many things along their journey, such as Tower War Chariots and giantized livestock, which made a perfect match. Not only did they far exceed the carrying capacity of ordinary heavy trucks, but their safety was also well guaranteed. They were clearly the caravan’s first choice.

No sooner had the Conqueror Caravan unfurled their banner than numerous merchants came knocking, inquiring about purchasing matters. This was likely the first channel the Conqueror Caravan had opened up.

"I originally thought we were quite well-prepared. Now it seems, there is still much we need to improve upon," Yeshandalah said earnestly, "If possible, I would like to invite the lady to serve as our finance minister in Efanso and jointly manage and develop it."

This decision, of course, wasn’t an impulsive one but had been carefully deliberated.

The way she had acquired Efanso had bound her fate with the Conqueror Army and Gaven; their glories and losses were now one and the same.

Daphne had stayed in Efanso, clearly with her own mission. Instead of letting her work in secret, it was better to bring her activities out into the open, binding their interests even more tightly together. There was an exchange of interests; by the time it came to action, she surely wouldn’t betray her own people. A balance of interests had to be maintained.

At first glance, Efanso seemed to be at a disadvantage, becoming a tool in the hands of others.

But this had to be viewed in terms of scale. Compared to the current state of Gaven, Efanso was but a small city, one ring on the larger chain of interests.

Whatever fell from the opponent’s hand, even incidentally, would be far more than what she could develop on her own through strenuous effort; she was actually profiting.

"It seems Lord Gaven’s entrusting of Efanso to the lady was no coincidence," Daphne spontaneously regarded Yeshandalah with greater respect. This was a woman who understood the lay of the land, excelled at adapting to change. Working with such a person would make her job much easier, and their achievements on the Giant Dragon Coast might well surpass expectations.

For a city, finance was the lifeblood. The other party had handed over the keys to their very survival, a gesture of immense sincerity. This was even a step beyond the domestic affairs minister position she had originally planned for.

"I may take it that you’ve accepted my request?" Yeshandalah asked with a slight smile.

"It would be my honor," Daphne replied, bowing slightly, "City Lord."

The same title, a different intonation, carried different implications.

"For the matter of commissioning brand-new advertisements, I entrust that to the lady," Yeshandalah placed her trust in her subordinates without reservation, not only taking Daphne’s advice but also entrusting the task to her, given her distinct advantages in this field.

She had seen the Phantom projections with her own eyes and knew their lethal force in advertising. She hadn’t lacked the ambition in this aspect; they were purely busy taking over a city with countless pressing concerns, and many matters were not yet fully settled. They were an impromptu troupe lacking management experience. Employing Daphne, she hoped to leverage her experience to rapidly bring Efanso onto a normal developmental track.

"I will personally discuss this matter with Ms. Regina. However, such a novel mode of advertising has not been promoted on a large scale and doesn’t have precise market pricing. Therefore, the pricing will be somewhat difficult. I suggest we first create a few trial versions to gauge the effectiveness and determine an accurate psychological price point before commissioning in bulk," Daphne asserted, already fully assuming her role, stepping in right away to consider for Efanso, aiming to save funds.

While she held positions in both organizations, balancing the benefits was straightforward.

Apart from the Conqueror Guild and Black Wing Guild that she oversaw, other departments didn’t belong to her dominion. Even within the same company, you wouldn’t see one draining their own department to prop up another. The goal was to draw as many resources as possible to one’s own department, bolstering personal achievements.

"Your suggestion is very reasonable. Let’s proceed according to your proposal," Yeshandalah agreed.

"Besides that, I have another proposal."

"Please, speak your mind."

"Lord Gaven has ordered me to establish the Conqueror Guild here. City Lord might be aware. I would request the Lord to designate it as Efanso’s municipal guild," Daphne wasn’t overstepping but further solidifying their bond.

Forget the city-states; even a unified Kingdom like the Komeer Kingdom had their own Royal Family Guilds, not primarily to amass wealth, but to regulate the nation’s and city’s trade markets.

For instance, when certain essential goods were in high demand by countries and cities but offered thin or no profit margins, the typical profit-seeking merchants wouldn’t deal in them. That’s when the municipal guilds would step in.

Also, if some traders tried hoarding or manipulating the price of certain goods in a city, the municipal guilds would need to intervene, delivering the same goods at standard prices to break such monopolies.

In short, it was an essential economic tool for the city.

To support this tool, the city would offer certain preferential policies or available deals to the municipal guild, allowing them to grow stronger.
