Chapter 955: Chapter 585: Undead Divine Spark
"The ritual begins," came the command.
Estelle’s Shadow Dragon Flute resonated, as the Shadow Giant Dragon coalesced once more, opening its vast maw to swallow one gnoll corpse after another, essentially utilizing the Shadow Drag feature.
Yet, in the eyes of the gnolls, the bodies of these fallen comrades were bestowed with the supreme honor of merging with the soul of the Giant Dragon.
These gnolls had been utterly dominated by Gaven, so much so that even the value of their deaths had been thoroughly extracted.
After calming the gnolls at Weizemay New Village, Gaven hurried back to Weizemay Manor. Upon seeing Estelle, he impatiently asked, "Where is this Unknown Door you spoke of?"
"It’s deep within the wine cellar." Estelle led Gaven straight to the depths of the manor’s wine cellar, where a cyan-gray door stood tall on the wall.
This door was rather unusual; not only was it difficult to discern its material, but it was also hard to determine whether it even existed at all. It was shrouded in a layer of seemingly faint black fog. Even Gaven’s True Sight could not fully penetrate it. Inlaid with complex runes and exuding a solemn and respectful style, it called to mind images of tombs and death at first glance.
Gaven remembered clearly that where the door now stood had been simply a wall. They had neither constructed this door nor the room behind it. Even the projection of Weizemay Manor within his own Consciousness Sea did not have this door in existence.
This door had simply appeared out of nowhere, and it had done so while they were attempting to transform Blood Horn Peak.
To both Estelle and Gaven, it was an unknown since even Estelle, as the owner of the place, could neither teleport into it nor perceive it. It was like a bottomless black hole, devouring everything that came near.
Uncontrollably, Gaven reached out and touched it. Then, a smile broke free at the corners of his mouth, growing wider and wider until he couldn’t help but laugh aloud and then directly walked toward the door.
"My Lord, be careful, there could be danger inside!" Estelle couldn’t help but warn.
"Don’t worry, I know what this is. It won’t harm us. In fact, it’s a treasure for us," Gaven’s form passed directly through the cyan-gray door, vanishing into the mist.
With no other choice, Estelle clenched her teeth and resolutely approached the Unknown Door. Instead of encountering a solid barrier, she passed through a thin layer of mist, feeling its presence yet not quite tangibly.
"What is this..." Upon entering the room, Estelle was captivated by the sight that greeted her, staring transfixed at the object floating in the air, unable to look away. She could feel that it was something extraordinary beyond her imagination.
This space was less a room and more a land of chaos, filled with cyan-gray mist—the purest Shadow Power. The area felt empty with no visible boundaries, except for the door through which they had come standing firm.
In the entire space, there were only six spots of light and a cluster of sparks.
Those six lights orbited around the cluster of sparks in mysterious patterns.
As Estelle entered, the cluster of sparks moved uncontrollably as if wanting to drift towards her. The six cyan-gray lights spun swiftly, forming intricate runes that forcefully suppressed it.
Gaven, without knowing when, had moved behind Estelle, firmly grasping her arm, and chided sharply, "Wake up."
"Ah..." Estelle looked like someone waking from a deep dream, staring at the cyan-gray sparks close by, and asked in surprise, "Lord, what’s going on? What just happened?"
"You were just mesmerized by the Undead Divine Spark and nearly became its vessel," Gaven explained.
Gaven was familiar with the object before him. Several months ago, he had encountered it within the Dragon Oak Mother Tree; it was an essential item for deity ascension—the Divine Nature Spark.
However, this spark represented the Undead Divine Spark, whereas the one he had encountered before was the Dream Divinity Spark.
The appearance of this Divine Nature Spark once again confirmed Gaven’s speculation that it was not merely a trace of divine nature but represented a channel for acquiring it.
Yet there were differences between the two Divine Nature Sparks.
The Dream Divinity Spark had been born purely from Gaven and Lord Virginia’s cooperation, weaving the Dragon Oak Dream Realm and stimulated into being by the extensive use of the Fae Race, a bona fide newborn Divine Spark.
This Divine Spark, however, had been inversely engendered by the continuous accumulation of Shadow Power within Weizemay Manor after Gaven had plundered the Undead Divinity from the Undying Goddess of Vengeance and unlocked the Manor Attributes.
The reason it hadn’t emerged before was that the Shadow Power had not yet reached the carrying capacity for each point of Undead Divinity—a threshold of one thousand. Weizemay Manor initially had four points of Undead Divinity, with a capacity of four thousand points. The amplifications by Mesnoel couldn’t be counted, similar to external attribute boosts; they were false and only the most authentic could be counted.
When the limit was exceeded by one thousand points, and the first point of Undead Divinity coalesced, the Undead Divine Spark was born alongside it.
Initially, the Shadow Power came about due to the Undead Divinity, creating carrying points. Now, the excess carrying points had produced new Undead Divinity, igniting a new Undead Divine Spark. Thus, it could be considered as plundered from the Undying Goddess of Vengeance, indicating that whoever chose to integrate with this Undead Divine Spark would become a contender to the Undying Goddess of Vengeance. And should they defeat her, they would naturally inherit her Undead Divine Office.
