Chapter 932: Chapter 577: Formidable Enemy Attacks_2

At that point, all the Koutao Fishmen who had rushed into Weizemay New Village were annihilated.

However, that was only a small part of the Koutao Fishmen, and more of them, following the main body of the lake, were intercepted outside the new village, gathering outside like tides one after another.

Having witnessed the destruction of the vanguard, the main forces of the Koutao Fishmen no longer rushed mindlessly into Weizemay New Village, but rather, avoided the stone buildings and assembled in open areas from afar.

These Koutao Fishmen were highly efficient in their movements and gathered quickly; in just a few minutes, the number of Koutao Fishmen crowding there had already surpassed a thousand.

At the very center, a tall Koutao Fishman wielding a strangely shaped staff began to emit bizarre, clicking screams, speaking in an ancient language that Lord Serlemon had never heard before. It had a very strong rhythm, but after listening, one felt a bit unwell, both inside and out, as an uncontrollable rage brewed within, creating an urge to tear apart everything nearby.

This feeling intensified as more and more Koutao Fishmen joined, shaking their heads and raving.

"This is the aura of the Black Prison, no doubt, the one that can drive creatures into madness and a slaughtering frenzy," Lord Serlemon exclaimed. Not daring to be a mere spectator any longer, Serlemon took down his Elf Longbow, aimed it at the High Priest of the Koutao Fishmen, and shot.

For he realized this was the special attack method of these Koutao Fishmen, the very roots of insanity surrounding the Black Prison.

They were infecting the Gnolls of Weizemay New Village with this method, compelling them to abandon their defensive advantage and recklessly rush out from the village to engage in open combat.

The will of these Gnolls was generally not very strong, and already a significant number had been influenced and controlled, screaming as they launched attacks on the Gnolls around them, with the cries of the Gnolls erupting one after another throughout Weizemay New Village.

"Lord Serlemon, take your men and leave, the Revenge Storm is coming," Gaven’s voice rang in Serlemon’s ear, clearly infused with the power of magic.

That instantly cleared Serlemon’s mind. He looked around and noticed they were enveloped by a huge black storm cloud. His surrounding Sword of the Deep Forest soldiers, their eyes bloodshot, were gnashing their teeth as they attacked the Koutao Fishmen, appearing as if they were facing their mortal enemies.

It was evident they had been affected by the collective sacrificial power of those Koutao Fishmen.

Even though they found themselves right in the heart of a mighty Ninth Ring Spell, they had not realized it.

"Wake up, wake up, retreat, retreat, retreat quickly," Lord Serlemon shouted to his subordinates.

A few with stronger wills managed to break free, while others seemed oblivious to their Lord’s command.

Serlemon quickly drew several long arrows from his quiver, snapped off their heads, and with one arrow per person, shot directly at the foreheads of each uncontrolled Sword of the Deep Forest soldier, displaying superior archery.

The pain jolted those Sword of the Deep Forest soldiers back to clarity; one even glared at Lord Serlemon in anger, raising his hand and nearly shooting his own Lord with an arrow, but stopped at the last second and hastily bowed in apology.

Serlemon waved his hand and said, "This is not your fault; it is the special ability of those Koutao Fishmen. Ascend, everyone, quickly ascend. The spell is about to take effect."

Revenge Storm was known for its extensive coverage and was a battlefield spell through and through, with a radius of over a hundred meters. Even attempting to fly out of its range would not be easy in a short span of time.

Those Koutao Fishmen might have had strong, eerie abilities, but they had still foolishly made a mistake gathering themselves densely together, making it hard for the spell not to exert its full power.

Boom, boom, boom!

Terrifying flashes of lightning and thunder suppressed the collective prayers and sacrifices of the Koutao Fishmen below, leaving many deafened by the reverberations.

At this moment, the Koutao Fishmen could barely maintain their composure; isolated from the world, they had no idea what the massive black storm cloud looming over their heads signified, including their High Priest.

Because they did not worship a true divine figure, their knowledge was limited to what their deity knew.

And the Revenge Storm skill, being typically like the boiling frog in gradually heating water, only gathered strength in the first two rounds, reaching maximum lethality in the third and fourth rounds.

To the knowledgeable, the twelve seconds spanning two rounds would be enough to escape the general range of the Revenge Storm, hence, its lethality was often not as formidable.

Twelve seconds can sometimes seem very long, like during a hundred-meter sprint where every second feels unbearably slow.

Yet at other times, it can be fleeting, passing in just a moment of hesitation.

The will of these Koutao Fishmen was strong, so even when faced with the barrage of Strong Acid Rain, they did not waver in their frenzied worship, viewing it as a test of their faith.

Only when six bolts of lightning struck from the sky, hitting the High Priest and five other Sacrificers around him, did they realize something was amiss.
