Chapter 909: Chapter 569 Aren’t You Afraid of Overeating?_3

They could all imagine how difficult it would be for the opposing forces once they entered the Goblin Margins—struggling to move forward. If they rallied and incited the local Monster Tribe to harass and attack them, even if they were not utterly defeated, they would still not be able to maintain the integrity of their entire army. The wealth and goods they carried in large quantities were both a burden and the source of their disaster.

"We’ll deal with our own problems of overindulgence; the City Lord Mayor need not worry," Gaven replied with a smile, "The longer this drags on, the more disadvantageous it becomes for you. Drag it on for another month or half, and your military expenses will exceed this figure."

"The amount is too large; we need time to prepare," Siegel said through gritted teeth.

"I can give you ten days. Within ten days, deliver all valuables to Efanso, and we will punctually set out and leave this place, borrowing the route through Posku to enter the Goblin Margins. How does that sound?" Gaven was aware that the other party’s claims were true.

The West Gate City Lord Mayor consulted with other city lord mayors, and finally said, "Five days. We only need five days to prepare, and after five days, when the goods and people arrive, you must hand over all affairs in Efanso to the Avenger Rebellion Army and then leave as a whole, never to return. If you break this oath, you will be forsaken by both gods and men, and the world will join in the condemnation."

If it weren’t for the fact that gathering supplies and personnel genuinely required time, they wouldn’t even want the Conqueror Army to stay any extra day at the Giant Dragon Coast.

"Five days then. As long as you adhere to the contract, we will absolutely not break our promise," Gaven assured fervently.

He only promised that this Conqueror Army would not return, but he didn’t promise not to use other means to affect, control, or infiltrate this place.

Now, all the cities of the Giant Dragon Coast were united only because of the pressure exerted by the Conqueror Army—a mighty dragon holding them down. Once they left, the region would likely revert to the previous state of disunity, presenting them with an opportunity.

After both sides reached a mutual agreement, under the witness of Komeer Kingdom’s Court Archmage Feng Geda Hast, they signed a contract.

After sending off the leaders of the Giant Dragon Coast Allied Forces, Feng Geda Hast said with a serious expression, "From what my young friend suggests, after you leave the Giant Dragon Coast, you plan to traverse the Goblin Margins? We have just received two pieces of intelligence from the Sambiyan Business Council, one of which is directly related to you, and the other, indirectly."

"Oh? What intelligence?" A look of interest surfaced on Gaven’s face, although he had already guessed most of it.

The rivalry between the Valley and Sambia was irreconcilable; the development of one party would inevitably erode the vested interests of the other.

Their Conqueror Army had made such a commotion at the Giant Dragon Coast; the Sambiyan Merchant Council would certainly take action.

After all their scheming, the Goblin Margins were their only chance. If they missed it, they would have no other place to leverage a severe blow to the Conqueror Army. With Komeer Kingdom lying between the two territories, Sambia could not possibly send a large number of mercenaries there. The only feasible strategy was to cooperate with the local Monster Forces and create an encirclement.

After they passed through, conflict with the Monster Tribe was inevitable, the only difference being whether it would be organized or not.

"They are planning to collude with the Santarin’s Dark Castle to mobilize the Goblin Margins’ Monster Tribe and launch sniping attacks on you," answered Feng Geda Hast.

"Although we had guessed this, we still appreciate the Archmage’s kind warning. We have no choice but to take this path, and we will proceed with caution," Gaven said with a confident smile, "They should prepare for the possibility of their teeth being shattered if they wish to take us down. On the other hand, once we successfully pass through the Goblin Margins, we need to borrow a road in the Rocklands, and we’ll need your approval for that."

"I cannot make any promises regarding that. You will need to go to Susar and meet with King Yasan himself," said Feng Geda Hast. Even though Komeer Kingdom had made its decisions, he would not make any promises, because this was not simply a matter of personal friendship but entangled interests between powers.

"That is indeed what should be expected," Gaven didn’t expect to secure a transit permit so easily.

To be frank, the development of events had completely overturned his original plans.

Or rather, shattered them three or four times. Plans were constantly revised and re-revised.

According to his original plan, he intended to spend a year developing the Rocklands, to assist in the Valley’s development, and to follow King Yasan to Cesk at the end of the year for an experience—earning a little bit of money along the way. The next year, he would organize manpower to thoroughly clear the Rocklands and naturally become the Baron of Komeer Kingdom with the largest territorial area.

But who could have predicted that things would shift, and his development in the Valley would be so rapid? As long as he brought the Conqueror Army back, it was inevitable to surpass the progress in the Rocklands.

By that time, a relatively awkward situation would arise— he would likely be the lord of one or several separate valleys, yet with a territory in the middle of Komeer Kingdom.

This would also be one of the issues he needed to discuss when meeting King Yasan— if he truly reclaimed the Rocklands, could he still be ennobled as the Rockland Duke?

One person holding titles of nobility, Lordships, in several countries was not very common in Felen but not entirely unheard of.

He was already holding multiple titles, being the Count of Battle Valley and Baron Thacel. By then, he would simply add another title of Baron Komeer. Hmm, he was also the co-lord of Blood Gorge City and Dwarf Statue City, which already amounted to a minor king.

"What is the other piece of intelligence that indirectly concerns us?" inquired Gaven curiously.

He couldn’t speculate about this; spy networks were his greatest shortfall, especially regarding infiltration into complete nations like Sambia, where established kingdoms like Komeer had more advantage.
