Chapter 882: Chapter 560: Shadow Duel_3
"Awoooo!"
The spirit undead let out strange cries one by one and turned to run. They had the guts to confront the Paladin’s cleansing attack, but they didn’t have the courage to contend with this kind of shadow power, which was too oppressive.
But running away from the monk doesn’t mean they could escape the temple; it was still broad daylight outside, and they dared not rashly rush out of the area enveloped by the black mist.
Gaven didn’t have the time to deal with these small fries; instead, he focused on stirring the shadow power, allowing it to engulf Efanso City Hall.
He could now be one hundred percent certain that the Necromancer’s den wasn’t in the basement but right here, and the Necromancer himself was inside because Gaven felt the resistance—someone was manipulating shadow energy to fight against Gaven’s invasion.
When the two energies collided heavily, an unexpected situation arose that neither side had anticipated. The energies tangled together, dragging both parties into a brand new environment.
A world composed entirely of negative energy, filled with dense negative energy, with no constructions, just two people standing face to face—neither the undead of Efanso nor the Holy Warrior Brigade that Gaven had brought were to be seen.
"How interesting, how interesting. This is the first time I’ve encountered such an intriguing event," the person opposite surveyed their surroundings with great interest. "I thought building a Mage Tower at the intersection of the Material Plane and the Shadow Plane was my unique concept. I never expected that you would think of the same thing. Our two Mage Towers are now consuming each other. Now, let’s see whose power is stronger—only the victor will take it all."
The opponent, a master steeped in the arts of necromancy, instantly saw the heart of the matter.
They were neither on the Material Plane nor in the Shadow Plane, but on the forefront of a battlefield created by the clash of two energies, where both parties were pulled into this unique battleground, facing off in a fight to the death because, aside from consuming each other, there was no other way to leave this place for the time being.
"So you truly are disguised as an Akechazha Evil Beast Spirit," Gaven assessed the opponent, without surprise or alarm.
It was unclear if it was due to their unique environment, or because it was the final moment when there was no need for disguises.
At this moment, the Necromancer Arms was not in any disguise but in his true form—tall and thin, similar to Gaven’s previously vanquished Nadarun Evil Beast Spirit, resembling a ferocious tiger that had taken on a humanoid form. The palms of his hands were oppositely positioned to a human’s, but what set him apart was his white fur, patterned with black stripes, and he was dressed in a vast robe. His eyes, looking towards Gaven, were full of endless cunning and greed, as if he was seeing prey caught in his conspiratorial web.
The Necromancer politely said, "Please allow me to introduce myself. You may call me Arms, although this is inconsequential, as it’s merely one of my many names. I would be most grateful to claim all your legacy."
Gaven chuckled coldly, "How are you so certain it is you who will take my legacy and not I who will consume all your possessions?"
The Necromancer confidently declared, "Because this is my domain. What do you plan to use to fight me? Come out, my servants."
At his command, numerous figures began to appear slowly out of the blank nothingness behind him.
None of these figures were normal—specters, shadows, ghosts, and bone claws—they formed a pattern identical to the Undead Brigade that Gaven and his group had previously faced in the city hall.
Gaven’s gaze fell on a distinctive undead creature beside the Necromancer; it was clear to see that it was a Draconic Undead because it bore the outline of a Giant Dragon. However, it lacked dragon scales and muscles, displaying only a skeleton of white bones, which were not hollow but filled with an almost solid form of negative energy, very similar to Nightshadow’s unique muscular organization. Therefore, it didn’t appear frail. It wasn’t very big and sat squatting on the ground, about the same height as the surrounding bone claws and was quite large in size. Considering the dragon wings and animalistic design, it was overall more robust and massive than the bone claws.
Its dragon claws were similar to the bone claws, sharp and long, curling like those of a feline, landing on the pads of its feet first. Most notably were its wings; reduced to mere bony remnants, it clearly had lost the ability to fly, yet they had not become just for show. The tips were sharp and slim, be it the front side or the tip, all shaped like blades, gleaming with a metallic sheen. These were no longer dragon wings but a bizarre weapon directly attached to the body. No one doubted its sharpness; hence the nickname Razorback Claw wasn’t referring to the dragon claws but its wings.
While Gaven observed the opponent’s strength, he wasn’t idle. Responding with a laugh, he said, "Since I can control negative energy, do you think I won’t have spectral subordinates? Come out, my warriors."
The last sentence, clearly influenced by the Necromancer of Evil Beast Ghost, was admittedly impressive alongside the summoning.
Numerous shadows also began to appear around Gaven.
Compared to the chaos on the Necromancer’s side, the types that appeared on Gaven’s side were very uniform, all True Wraiths led by a dozen True Shadow Knights.
The first to appear were two by Gaven’s side—one, a Dwarves Elf with a petite frame yet a voluptuous upper body, clad in a maid outfit that transformed the look into something sexy and captivating, with a pair of black and red high-heeled shoes that accentuated her chopstick-like legs, making them appear longer. This could be none other than the former Undying Goddess of Vengeance Sacrificer, Daphne.
The other was a creature with a seductive, perfect female upper body but with six arms and a thick, long serpentine lower body—undoubtedly the Six-armed Serpent Demon, Ophelia.
While this place could not be considered a material space, it was impossible to alter undead with shadow energy at will, so what both parties summoned were their actual subordinates.
