Chapter 849: Chapter 549 Half-Dragon_3

The Blue Dragon Dragonborn clearly knew this as well, holding his head high as he said as a matter of course, "If I win, let me leave; if I lose, I will swear loyalty to you."

"Good," Gaven agreed without hesitation, nodding his head.

Upon first sight of the other, Gaven had already recognized that this was not just any ordinary Dragonborn but rather a Half-Dragon; one could only claim the title of Half-Dragon if one of their parents was a True Dragon. Otherwise, they could only be collectively referred to as Dragonborn or, in other words, creatures of Dragon Blood.

Half-Dragons are classified as part of the Dragonkin, not humanoid beings.

This Half-Blue Dragon looked like a Blue Dragon that had risen to stand upright, possessing a humanoid form. His head was a proportionately scaled-down version of a Blue Dragon’s, with a huge, conspicuous horn right above the nose, surrounded by an array of spikes. Underneath his chin dangled a tuft of blue beard, giving him an imposing air even without anger, and his back was cloaked with dense blue Dragon Scales. However, on his chest, the scales became patches of earthy yellow. Ignoring the Dragon Wings and thick tail behind him, he resembled a warrior clad in a fierce, dragon scale Armor.

He wasn’t particularly tall, just slightly over two meters three, which still fell within the medium Body Type category, but he was exceptionally muscular, especially the upper body, with chest muscles that could only be described as exaggerated. His arms and thighs were as thick as each other, and even the natural Dragon Scales couldn’t hide the developed contours of his muscles.

There was no need for Dragon’s Sight Glasses; this guy definitely had Transcendent Strength and Constitution. In his hands, he held two glittering Fine Gold Warhammers. Although each one was only the size of an adult’s fist and shaped like a blossoming flower, no one doubted their weight.

Regardless of whether they were enchanted or not, their mere weight would ensure that being hit would not be pleasant, a fact that became all too clear upon impact.

The Half-Blue Dragon warrior made the most of his advantages, pushing them to the extreme during his charge. Not only did he flap his Dragon Wings continually for added force, but his tail also curved like a bow, powerfully propelling him forward, granting him a collision force rivaled by few, far surpassing the expectation from his seemingly bulky figure.

Having exchanged his Serpent Hilt Curved Sword for a Crown Shield, Gaven decided to test the opponent’s combat strength directly and stood his ground against an attack.

Even when enlarged and having his Strength boosted to Transcendent by spells, he still couldn’t withstand the force and was pushed back several steps. The Crown Shield, known for its strong Damage Reduction, now bore two shallow pits—it was the first time this had happened since Gaven had acquired the shield. He wasn’t too distressed, though; Magic Equipment above +3 inherently had some regenerative capabilities, as long as it wasn’t shattered, it would naturally repair itself after some time.

The Half-Blue Dragon, seizing the advantage, swung his Fine Gold Blossom Hammers like a fierce storm, with a series of crackling and snapping sounds ringing as they struck Gaven’s Crown Shield.

"It’s my turn," Gaven bellowed, the fog around him rapidly converging and explosively bursting forth.

A Third-Level Special Ability energy burst.

This allowed the concentration of cold, lightning, flame, or sonic Energy to form a radius of up to twelve meters of energy shockwave around him. Once struck, the target would suffer 5D6 impact damage; depending on the chosen energy type, secondary damage effects could occur, with sonic waves dealing great damage to glass objects, flames potentially igniting the target, and lightning delivering increased harm to enemies clad in steel Armor. Gaven’s choice was cold, leaving his hit opponents stiffened and their movements briefly slowed, while the Spellcaster at the center remained unharmed.

A classic battlefield-clearing skill that could knock down a swath of opponents in an instant. Gaven had not used it before simply because his enemies were too weak to warrant its use.

The Half-Blue Dragon warrior was especially sensitive to Magic Power. As soon as Gaven started gathering magic, the warrior abandoned his Attack, using the recoil of his wings to retreat rapidly. When the energy burst forth, he was also outside the effective range of attack.

Gaven had no expectation that a Third-Level Special Ability would take down the Half-Blue Dragon. Its main purpose was to repel him, allowing Gaven to fully cast and stack various abilities to enter the Transcendent State. The Half-Dragon was worth unleashing a part of his true strength.

By the time the Half-Blue Dragon charged back, he involuntarily narrowed his eyes, cursing inwardly: What kind of freak is this?

Magic and Martial Dual Cultivators weren’t particularly rare in Felen—Magic Knights, Psychic Warriors, and even Holy Warriors fell into this category.

But being a dual cultivator often meant being neither here nor there: they couldn’t match the Casting Ability of dedicated Spellcasters and in close combat, they were outmatched by warriors who specialized in such fighting.

Yet the man before him was the opposite—he was no less capable in hand-to-hand combat than a specialized warrior. Even under his fierce assault, he still stood unflinching.

In terms of Casting Abilities, he had even more variety than the true Spellcasters, possessing many Spells that Gaven had never seen before, resembling the legendary Psychic Abilities rather than typical magic.

Now he had entered the Transcendent State. Gaven had witnessed firsthand the power of this state; not to mention just having all six Attributes stacking to Transcendent and triggering six Special Abilities was enough to give an Overbearing advantage.

But the last time he had seen it, it was not on a human but on a Giant Dragon.

"Alright, let me witness the power of the Transcendant Body," the Half-Blue Dragon warrior roared triumphantly. With his battle spirit rekindled after the shock, challenging a formidable opponent was a pleasure in itself.

His body swelled visibly, rapidly surpassing four and a half meters, arching more dramatically forward, now resembling a Blue Dragon with about sixty to seventy percent similarity. The Fine Gold Blossom Hammer in his hands also grew in proportion. Half-running, half-flying, he charged at Gaven again, causing the entire deck to shake wildly with each step.
