Chapter 777: 527 Chapter Worth Tens of Millions_2

"Understood, loyalty to Lord Baron, faith to the Dragon Oak Mother Tree," the Black Dragoness quickly corrected herself.

Having heard their conversation, Mayor Jin Bao couldn’t help swallowing nervously and said, "Aren’t you afraid that such actions will provoke the wrath and retaliation of the Gnoll God Kulturmak?"

Compared to their blatant poaching of Kulturmak’s followers, Garl Glittergold’s act of collapsing the cave where the enemy’s god first ascended was forgivable.

Gaven, with a sly smile, said, "We are simply giving these Gnolls another deity to believe in, without completely denying the fact that Kulturmak is the god of the Gnoll race, nor have we ever denied that he is the origin of all Gnolls. Where would his anger come from? The instinct of Gnolls to serve Giant Dragons was also bestowed by him. The act of strengthening the Gnoll race glorifies him. Even if he feels some discontent, he would endure it because of this."

The god of a race and the god of faith have subtle differences.

The former is often related to the origin of the species. In myth, they are usually the first of their kind to be born and also the creators of their race. Their blood pulses within them, and their souls carry his preferences and personality.

Faith, for them, is not as crucial—what matters is the development and strengthening of their entire tribe. The larger their numbers, the stronger he becomes.

Compared to the tiny bit of Gnoll souls that Gaven is now stealing, the number of Gnolls that would be born due to the prosperity of the Dragon Oak Territory will be much greater. As long as there isn’t a mass dying-off of Dragon Oak Territory Gnolls, Kulturmak wouldn’t be able to sense that many of the souls that originally belonged to him had been siphoned away.

The Gnome Village Chief gestured a universally recognized sign of praise towards Gaven and said, "Lord Baron, your wisdom is profound. We look forward to the day of your success. After all, no one wants to fight to the death with Gnolls every day. It is quite pointless. It’s better to play to our strengths and together seek a better life."

"Oh, what exactly do you mean by ’play to our strengths’?" Gaven smoothly continued the conversation. There were some matters he couldn’t bring up himself and had to wait for the other party to mention.

Mayor Jin Bao, after looking around as if afraid of being overheard, pulled out a jewelry box from his chest and handed it to Gaven, saying, "Before that, would you please take a look at what’s inside here, Lord?"

After receiving the jewelry box, Gaven didn’t open it right away but smiled and said, "If I’m not mistaken, inside should be a Magic Ring or a necklace made from Regeneration Gems, right?"

Aside from being renowned for innovation, the Gnomes of their race are also the best gem craftsmen in all of Felen.

They even have a very special profession, the Gemstone Prospector.

This profession excels at finding gem veins, mining various gems, and also specializes in gem crafting.

This Gnome Village, rooted in the monster-infested mountains, certainly isn’t here to manage a large-scale farm; it’s for the unique gems of this area—Troll Gems.

"Lord Baron, your guess is absolutely correct," Mayor Jin Bao confirmed with a nod, "This is a Regeneration Ring made from the specialty gemstones of this locality."

While the explanation went on, Gaven had already opened the jewelry box, which didn’t contain just one ring, but a whole row of five.

Each had a unique design, with silver bands covered in runes so small they were barely visible to the naked eye, and embedded with carefully polished Regeneration Gems. The rings were identical, but the sizes of the embedded Regeneration Gems varied, ranging from the size of a grain of rice to that of a peanut.

Before being processed, such Regeneration Gems had the power to Heal from one to five points. It was intriguing to consider what effects they could have after being crafted.

Lesser Fast Healing Ring: The wearer of this ring will gain one point of Fast Healing ability and can cast Healing Minor Injuries once per day.

That was the ability of the most basic ring, which had a Regeneration Gem the size of a grain of rice.

With the Gnomes’ crafting, these gems retained their original abilities and also gained Healing Spells, making them useful not only to the wearer but also to others. The practicality is obvious. Just the one-time daily use of Healing Minor Injuries makes the ring worth more than a thousand Gold Coins, because a potion for Healing Minor Injuries costs between thirty and fifty Gold Coins, and that’s a consumable. This ring could be used daily, not to mention the Fast Healing ability it grants the wearer.

The remaining four rings are named Intermediate Fast Healing Ring (two points of Fast Healing and one-time treatment for moderate injuries), Advanced Fast Healing Ring (three points of Fast Healing and one-time treatment for serious injuries), Potent Fast Healing Ring (four points of Fast Healing and one-time treatment for critical injuries), and Extreme Fast Healing Ring (five points of Fast Healing and two-time treatment for critical injuries).

Their values range from one thousand Gold Coins to as high as twenty-five thousand Gold Coins.

But there was more. Mayor Jin Bao changed hands and pulled out another jewelry box, also containing five rings, but this time they were embedded with genuine Regeneration Gems, ranging in size from that of a corn kernel to that of a pigeon egg; these were simply called Regeneration Rings.
