Chapter 763: Chapter 522 Dividing Forces into Four Paths_3
Taking advantage of the momentum from their great victory, the migrating army turned the Giant Plains upside down, dividing their forces into four groups, each performing their tasks.
The first group, now replenished to full strength, was the Flank Pioneer Camp, which transformed into a Road-Building Team. First, they built more than a hundred and fifty kilometers of lakeside boulevard southeast along the Snowflake Mountain Range and Deepflow Lake, connecting the migration route to Vihong Road.
Then, doubling back, they constructed a hundred and eighty kilometers of plains boulevard from Blood Canyon to Dwarf Statue City, linking the two cities that were beginning to take shape. Afterwards, they returned to Blood Canyon to assist with construction.
The second group was the Blood Claw Legion, which called back the Blood Claw Wolf Cavalry and once again set foot on the Giant Plains.
This time it was somewhat different from the previous three times.
The news of the complete destruction of the Trolls’ Wailing Dwarf Kingdom had spread throughout the Giant Plains with the fleeing soldiers, making it difficult for the Monster Tribes to muster the will to resist.
Moreover, the Blood Claw Legion no longer slaughtered indiscriminately. Regardless of race, as long as they were willing to submit and dutifully pay tribute, they would be spared.
Goblinkind tribes were no longer merely absorbing elite warriors; entire tribes, young and old, were being rounded up and taken back to Blood Canyon.
Thanks to this strategic adjustment, the Blood Claw Legion’s foray into the Giant Plains had the fewest battles, yet it yielded the greatest harvest.
The soldiers lost in previous battles were completely replenished, and there were even hundreds to spare, with more than three thousand Goblinkind women and children.
This was just the beginning. Their name had firmly established itself in the Giant Plains; later on, they would not need to venture frequently into the plains, as many Goblinkind Tribes would come to them seeking allegiance.
Over time, Monster Tribes would proactively deliver tribute instead of waiting to be collected—after all, no matter how restrained they were, they were still a group of ferocious and brutal individuals, and once they made a move, various damages were inevitable.
The tribute brought back by the Blood Claw Legion mainly consisted of various livestock, which included not only offerings but also wild animals rounded up by the Pikespirit Druids dispatched by Gaven, predominantly wild horses, bison, and boars, totaling over ten thousand, among which three thousand were giant livestock.
Gaven incorporated only the three thousand giant livestock into the migrating army, while the rest were given to the Blood Claw Legion as seeds for their herds.
The third group was the main body of the migrating army, whose main tasks remained two-fold: one was to enhance training for their own ranks, preparing for the upcoming migration.
The other was to continue assisting the Hobgoblins in constructing their city in Blood Canyon, which was entirely built to the Hobgoblins’ preferences—essentially a massive military camp, laid out in neat, regimented lines.
The construction was supported by extraordinary building races (Treants, Fae Race), a large number of low- to mid-level magic assists, and a substantial workforce.
The combination of these three factors.
Allowed Blood Canyon to transform from a wasteland into the embryonic stage of a city in a mere ten days.
They made full use of the terrain; most buildings were not constructed but carved directly out of the surrounding mountains.
In the war that led to the fall of the Wailing Dwarf Kingdom, Gaven and his forces had accrued a hidden benefit—Zalanda’s Path of War accumulated a significant amount of Experience Value.
These Experience Values were neither bestowed on the illustrious Goliath Battle Group and Hobgoblin Giant Battalions nor on the Hobgoblin Infantry who fought fiercely on the front lines.
Instead, they were granted to the auxiliary troop, the Pitfall Brigade, directly raising the Professional Level of twenty members to level ten while elevating the remaining two hundred eighty members to an average of level six.
The abilities of these Pitfall Makers were evident to all.
Though they did not fight on the front lines, the numerous traps they created played a pivotal role in maintaining stable battle lines, and they killed far more enemies than the average warrior.
More importantly, their abilities were not limited to combat but could also be used in construction, particularly the third-ring Stone Shaping Spell, which would play a crucial role in both the construction of Blood Canyon and the upcoming migration.
The basic construction process of the cavern dwellings in Blood Canyon was very similar to the Gnolls’ Mining pattern in the Dragon Oak Territory, but it had its own advantages that the latter did not have.
The Gnolls employed Quake Bombs for Demolition, and a large number of human laborers loaded the shattered stone onto vehicles, which the Treants then dragged away. These were then handed over to the Trap Makers, who used Stone Shaping Spell to further refine and reinforce them.
A chamber of over a hundred square meters could be completed in less than half a day.
And such construction teams numbered as many as three hundred—as for the shortfall in Treants, it was made up by strong Hobgoblins and livestock.
The blasted Bloodstone from Demolition was not wasted either; it was all transported to the middle of Blood Canyon to be given to thousands of human masons for preliminary processing, ready for subsequent Construction needs.
The final group was the Black Dragoness Shanoba.
After arranging the other three groups, Gaven personally took Shanoba and headed straight for Dwarf Statue City.
The Nort Guard Legion and Blood Claw Wolf Cavalry had already completed their clean-up efforts around the area, a task that proved to be exceedingly straightforward.
With so many Trolls congregated here, their daily consumption must have been tremendous—desperate with hunger, they even ate their own servants, let alone their neighbors.
No one wanted to be neighbors with a Troll unless the choice was between living next to one Troll or a group of them.
Forget about a ten-kilometer radius—even within a twenty-kilometer radius, not a single other tribe could be found.
As for the creatures that fled from the fallen Wailing Dwarf Kingdom, they ran as far as they could and would certainly not linger nearby.
Realizing this, Gaven withdrew these two legions: one joined forces with Blood Claw to carry out the second group’s mission, while the other returned to stand guard on the periphery of the migrating army.
Only the Cangya Legion and Goliath Battle Group remained in Dwarf Statue City.
