Chapter 756: Chapter 520: The Metamorphosis of the Six-Armed Snake Demon_2

Neither Gaven nor the Six-armed Snake Demon Nightshadow cared in the slightest, knowing full well, without even having to think, that the original owner of this clump of Demon Essence was raging at having lost their power to another.

Causing the Demon Prince to be permanently maimed?

This situation was not quite that dire, though it was certain that Dimogorgen would suffer a significant loss of Experience Value, and it was not out of the question that he would suffer a permanent Negative Rank as a result.

At his level, the amount of Experience Value needed to advance a single level was absolutely colossal, and even launching a war that involved millions of lives would not guarantee an increase in level.

Offense had already been given, so there was no concern about offending to death.

After all, no matter how powerful he was, he didn’t have the capability to leap from the Abyss on his own power to bite them.

Unlike other planes, the Bottomless Abyss and the nine layers of Hell function as prisons for Demons and Devils, where getting in is easy but getting out is especially difficult, especially for Demons and Devils.

The more powerful the entity, the greater the restrictions they face when wishing to leave, particularly when seeking to enter the Material Plane.

Just like the restrictions placed on vampires, they cannot enter a location in the Material Plane without being invited by an inhabitant.

To the beings of the Material Plane, their world is home, a safe haven for them.

If not for these many protections and restrictions, all Material Planes would fall to the onslaught of Demons and Devils, turning into a purgatorial wasteland.

Nevertheless, the mischief wrought by Demons and Devils is rampant—there are too many fools who cannot resist the temptation, not only offering their own souls to these malevolent entities but dragging countless innocent lives along with them.

Both Gaven and the Six-armed Snake Demon Nightshadow were first to concentrate on the gains from absorbing the Demon Essence.

Life Dice increased by two, reaching Professional Level twenty-three.

Demons, much like Giant Dragons, embody their race through their occupation, continually Enhancing their own Life Dice and by doing so, their strength, which is no less potent than Professional Level advancement.

Of course, one need not focus solely on Life Dice and could instead pursue Professional Levels.

However, to do so would be foolish.

Because Professional Levels are tailored to humanoid creatures, not Demons.

The most suitable "profession" for Demons is their racial advancement, which they should pursue until they can no longer do so before seeking alternative paths.

An increase of two Life Dice, even for beings below Transcendent level, is a rare occurrence, let alone for a being like the Six-armed Snake Demon.

Previously, such a notion would have been unthinkable to the Six-armed Snake Demon, who spent nearly a decade raising her Life Dice from twenty to twenty-one, during which she took part in countless minor and major Demonic conflicts, even participating in a small-scale Blood War.

But now, merely by consuming the essence of a single tentacular arm of a Demon Prince, she was able to advance two levels.

This fully illustrated the saying that a lean camel is larger than a horse.

It also provided a clearer understanding of the terrifying might of the Abyssal King.

From now on, the Abyss would be her forbidden territory, a place to avoid returning to if at all possible.

Meanwhile, the Six-armed Snake Demon Nightshadow gained a Demon Lord Template, which, like Yaling Nobility Template, Gnoll’s Dragonized Template, and Golia’s Child of Earth Template, raised all six of her Attributes by two points simultaneously.

It seems every race has their own special Enhancement Templates, only making one wonder whether Humans or Half-Elves have their own; this topic is worth thorough investigation as it is an excellent choice for mass-producing Elites.

The most meaningful aspect of this Attribute Enhancement for the Six-armed Snake Demon was Strength.

No longer needing Gaven’s aid, she could simply enlarge her body and use the Legendary ability Fatal Beheading to compensate for her lack of explosive power, making this ability invaluable.

And this was just the beginning, not the full extent.

Soul Siphon (Special Ability)—The soul essence of any enemy you slay will be siphoned by you, granting you one point of Life Force for every Life Dice they had, which you can use to replenish your own Health. If you are at full Hit Points, it will convert into temporary Hit Points, which cannot exceed your own number of Life Dice. Any excess will automatically be converted into Experience Value, with one Life Force converting to one point of Experience.

This ability derived from the energy absorption of the Demon Prince, having been adjusted to suit the capabilities of the Six-armed Snake Demon Nightshadow.

Its robustness needs no further explanation, as it is a perfect match for the Six-armed Snake Demon.

Conventional methods of healing, including Healing Potions, were ineffective against both Demons and Nightshadow characteristics, as she was not composed of flesh but of Negative Energy.

Channeling Negative Energy might heal her wounds, but average people would struggle to keep pace with her.

With Soul Siphon, this deficiency was remedied.

If she noticed her Life Force dipping too low, she could simply teleport into the midst of common soldiers, ready with a Death Whirlwind, to replenish her vitality to full, after which she could teleport back to continue the battle with her enemies.

Even when facing only common soldiers, she could gain extra Experience Value, accelerating her growth, which was significant in the accumulation of small gains.

Withering Attack (Special Ability)—Your attacks carry withering power, which has a certain chance of causing withering in the struck limb. If the same target is struck ten times, their flesh will begin to separate, dealing 1D6 points of Constitution damage.
