Chapter 739: Chapter 514: There’s Nothing a High-Yield Bomb Can’t Solve_3
But Kellysha stood rooted to the spot as if she had grown into the ground; no matter how much she was pulled, she couldn’t be moved an inch.
Indeed, Kellysha had already activated her Rock Sentinel special ability, linking herself to the earth.
This ability was primarily for defensive and regenerative purposes.
Yet, she had turned it into a control ability.
Her clasped arms, thicker than iron bands of the same size, were far sturdier; the Six-armed Snake Demon felt as if her flesh was about to be torn off, but she remained completely immobile.
This fight was extremely frustrating for the Six-armed Snake Demon.
Even on the Blood Battle Battlefield, facing endless legions of devils, she had never felt so stifled.
On the battlefield, she came and went as she pleased.
Wherever she went, there was a tempest of blood and gore, and even legendary devils, with just a slight lapse, could be cut down by her like chopping vegetables.
Those below the legendary level, when had she ever taken them seriously?
And now she was being made a sorry spectacle by two Transcendents.
The next second, the Six-armed Snake Demon could not afford to dwell on this.
A terrifying tremor emanated from beneath her feet, exploding into an earth-shattering roar.
Centered around the Demon Portal, the ground cracked inch by inch; countless rocks and soils erupted like a volcano, raining down pitter-patter on the Six-armed Snake Demon’s body.
Her enormous body was no longer an advantage for the Six-armed Snake Demon but had become a disadvantage, making her take even more hits from the flying stones and splashes of strong acid.
Even those Goliahs who were already crawling on the ground were flung about like bullets, rolling around like tumbling gourds.
Ow, ow, ow... ah, ah, ah...
The Six Noble Giant Trolls’ angry howls turned into screams of despair.
They were still in the pit, and when a massive number of Dragon Tremor Bombs detonated, causing the pulsation of the entire earth, the resulting terrifying pressure crushed their skeletons and internal organs into a pulp, burying them deep in the ground as flesh pancakes. Yet, their horrifying regenerative ability even under such circumstances did not let them die.
As their regenerative ability began to recover a bit, it was taken away again by continuous injury, fluctuating on the brink of life and death.
Death had become a certainty; it was just a matter of time. Those on the verge of death could no longer break free from the soil, and they would only die completely once they depleted the nutrients required for their regeneration, which would take several months.
The Six-armed Snake Demon and the Goliahs, having canceled their enlargement and returned to normal size, were directly buried alive by the soaring dirt and rocks; their presence could no longer be seen, their fate unknown.
The most terrifying situation was that of the primary target of the demolition, the Demon Portal.
The Demon Portal had vanished without a trace, and in its place was a conical pit at least twenty meters across and five meters deep. The bones that had formed the Demon Altar were all blasted to smithereens and disappeared without a trace.
Centered around this conical pit, the earth was covered with grooves of various depths, several centimeters to several tens of centimeters deep, spreading out like a spider’s web, the farthest reaching more than a hundred meters away.
Even within Blood Canyon, over a kilometer away, the tremors could be clearly felt.
General Kopofiel struck down a Berserker Demon who had leapt into the wagon formation with a single sword stroke and took the opportunity to shout, "All troops, charge! All troops, charge! All troops, charge! This is the commotion caused by the explosion of the Dragon Tremor Bomb. Lord Gaven and the others have successfully broken through; they have demolished the Demon Portal. The demons are no longer formidable; kill them all."
Kopofiel wasn’t certain whether Gaven and his team had succeeded, yet he distinctly felt the pressure of the frontal attack lessen. For a long time, no new demons had come charging over.
Whether successful or not, they had to seize this chance to counterattack.
If Gaven and his team had succeeded, this would turn into a combined pincer attack, wiping out all the demons in one fell swoop.
If Gaven and his team had failed, it would alleviate their own breakout pressure or draw away some of the firepower, giving them a second chance to attack.
This was the keen battlefield insight of an experienced veteran.
The first to respond were the Treants, each brandishing huge tree trunks as weapons, taking large strides, and charging into Blood Canyon to meet the demons.
Following closely behind them were the Hobgoblins of the Blood Claw Infantry Brigade, who rushed out through the paths opened by the Treants’ advance.
These Hobgoblins had been bearing the brunt at the very front line of the wagon formation, sustaining the heaviest casualties. At least five hundred Hobgoblins had been slain, with an equal number wounded. The demon army was not so easily dealt with, even with the support of abundant spells, crossbows, and the protection of the wagon formation, a heavy price still had to be paid.
But the remaining Hobgoblins showed not a hint of fear, always ready to charge into battle at the front line upon hearing the call to war.
Everything is relative, and casualty numbers are no exception.
The various monsters they had killed while being blocked in Blood Canyon numbered not less than five thousand, and there were at least as many demons, including many Transcendent ones. The corpses piled outside the wagon formation were two or three meters high, by stepping on them one could reach the top of the formation.
And they were not fighting alone; their powerful ranged firepower support had never ceased.
As they began their charge outwards, a variety of magic attacks also started to extend outward.
The most frequently used spells were not Fireball Techniques, but Ice Storm and Lightning Binding.
The enemies facing them were Abyssal Demons, many of which had Fire Attributes or high resistance to fire. Fireball Techniques were less effective against them compared to ice-based and lightning strikes.
In comparison, the number of arrows was even greater. Ten thousand commoners formed into Crossbowmen, divided into three square formations, each with three thousand men. Previously, to maintain endurance, they had taken turns engaging in long-range support attacks.
Now that they had launched a counterattack, there could be no holding back. The three square formations acted simultaneously.
In one volley, ten thousand arrows were fired, carpeting the path before their charge.
Even demons couldn’t withstand such a saturated barrage; a great number fell instantly, leaving only a few hapless stragglers in their places, all heavily wounded, who were quickly harvested by the rushing Hobgoblins.
Further fueling the Hobgoblins’ enthusiasm for the attack was the clear perception that the demons had lost their previous zeal for attack and were instead in a state of panic. Some continued to attack while others turned to flee, behaving like headless flies.
